    Good morning Keith. On this morning's topic of Sailor Art, the Navy traditionally allowed quite a bit of latitude in decorating doors, bulkheads and the like with "Official" and "Semi-Official" crests and markings although the door being drilled through (Sig-Shack) presumably for ventilation strikes me as one of those unauthorized "ship-alts" as it would make it easier for fire to spread.
    Question for you, does Wisconsin have a Ship Signal Exploitation Space (SSES?) I was a Cryptologic Tech during that portion of my life and served in two ships with those spaces. Not all ships had them. If Whiskey has one I'm certain that all that is left is some empty equipment racks but curiosity makes me ask.

      You are correct in that and I was very surprised the first time I saw it in 1990 for the same reasoning. All the Signalman I spoke to do not recall who did or when the work was done. Thanks for watching!
