I met Keith last week, aboard the Wisconsin. He did an excellent job giving us the tour. We got to relive his experience as a helmsman.
It was a great experience. I would recommend it to everyone..
Thank you for visiting the ship and taking the VIP experience tour with me. I enjoy taking people to places you can not get to on any other tour and showcase what I did and where I worked while serving on the ship! Going to the "Roof" of the ship is a great experience. Thank you for watching the video!
@@keithnitka9806 right full rudder :-)
I was part of a team in the 80's, who installed, rang out, and Audited ABL on the Iowa at Norfolk Naval Shipyard... Fire Control Tech'
Are there Battleship Wisconsin displays inside the Nauticus Museum? Or complementary displays for the ship...perhaps some WW2 displays? Those would make some nice videos.
GREAT info Keith! Can't wait for the vid on Harpoons. 🚀🚀🚀🚀⚓⚓
As a former Army Public Affairs photo journalist (And Video)📷🎥, I can neither confirm or deny that I've ever answered a question regarding nuclear weapons. 😉
Just jumping in about the yield of Littleboy (Hiroshima), it was 15kt and Fatman (Nagasaki) was 20kt. Awesome video.
Guys we all know the answer to this question,
YES!!!!!
Were the armored box launchers set in a fixed position? Meaning would the ship have to be oriented in the correct direction before firing the missiles?
Tomahawk cruise missiles are designed to fly at extremely low altitudes at high subsonic speeds and are piloted over an evasive route by several mission-tailored guidance systems. They can be fired and find their target no matter the ship's orientation.
Yes and no, while the ABLs themselves are in a fixed position, once launched, the tomahawks can change course once airborne hit their target.
These are correct answers! Thank you for watching!
Did the Tomahawk have to use all 10 way points on the way to the target EVERY time? Could you only program 7 waypoints?
It does not need to use all 10 way points. it is the maximum number of waypoints. Changes in course / speed and altitude. Thanks for watching!
Why is uss Wisconsin way above the wind water line. It almost looks like she is being dry docked
All the Iowas are at light condition as museum ships.
Around 13:55 it loses sound.
Im pretty sure Wisconsin is not carrying any TLAMs at this time.
Just a few empty canisters! Thanks for watching!
Don't care. Its an EX warshp. How many beans and bullets it carried isn't really as informational as what new USN ships are capable of
Sailors back then were far different than what we have today...And' its former battleship, and EX's are reserved for wife's.
