Expedition 63 Launch to the International Space Station

- Three space travelers launched to the International Space Station aboard a Soyuz spacecraft.🚀 Astronaut Chris Cassidy of NASA and cosmonauts Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Vagner of the Russian space agency Roscosmos lifted off at 4:05 a.m. EDT on a four-orbit, six-hour journey to our orbiting laboratory.
This is the third spaceflight for both Cassidy and Ivanishin and the first for Vagner. During their mission on the station, they'll welcome NASA's Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon, which is currently targeted to launch no earlier than mid-to-late May. - Наука та технологія
Well done, Roscosmos! Bravo!
Now THAT is what I call good engineering.
Respect and Greetings from Germany
Hallo
I mean....As a Russian it was actually the Germans who helped us get here.Despite our harsh past we thank your superior engineering.
медведь сила Neither the US nor the Russians would/could have done any of this without the Germans V-2 rocket. Werner Von Braun was a unique mind as was Sergei Korolev.
These guys took social distancing to the extreme.
That's human distancing ;-)
I'm sure they were under special medical 😷 check ups who ever participate in this
But they're only inches from each other.

Sure, thats elite leaving Planet. Covid Is All coverage so we have ti stay in our houses and die while all of them leave.
My Grandad got me into space, stars, planets etc,he's been gone over 20 yrs,he would be proud and amazed at what we have achieved since then.
Andrew Carter and what we have achieved? We have a lot of Mars or Moon colonies? No, we have old soyuz and old ISS station
Nickname Nick, sure we haven’t done as much as some hoped in the past few years, but the fact that we have a space station built by several nations across the globe shows that humans are capable of uniting and constructing one of the most advanced scientific instruments ever that has housed humans since the very early 2000s. Plus, missions such as Artemis are underway, which will land humans back on the moon by 2024. We’ve also sent numerous rovers and exploration missions to various worlds around the solar system to learn more about them. So yes, while we don’t have colonies on the moon yet, we now understand so much more about the solar system that will help us in our journey across the stars.
Coconut Kings such things would be done in several years in 1960s-1970s. And it lasts for decades now. I don’t think Moon mission will happen in 2024
Coconut Kings maybe 2064
Nickname Nick dude, shut it. NASA hasn’t had the need for humans to go to the moon for the last couple decades. It’s only now that we need humans to go, because the moon is the gateway to mars. You don’t know how hard it is to get into orbit let alone go to mars or the moon. And just like the other person said, theirs Artemis. I bet your a “astronaut” that got rejected for Artemis and is trying to deceive us. Or your a 2 year old with no brain.
"Just imagine your car working for twenty years."
I'm not knocking it at all, but I think the ISS gets a bit more maintenance than my car.
It's a 2000, but it runs like a 2043.
I laughed at that part. My truck is a 96, so it's not that hard to imagine haha.
@@marvelousrex2866 Same here. 1998 Dodge Ram, running nominally!

Flawed analogy... modern cars are disposable by design.
@@kaba_me How "modern" is modern? The newest vehicle I've ever owned is a 96 S10. But I've heard most of the vehicles before the 80s were basically undrivable by like 7-8 years and it was an extremely small percentage that were road worthy after 10 years. Now, just in my immediate family, we have 4 that are 15+ yo and are perfectly fine.
Space x is great, but that russian bird has been delivering men and women to space with an incredible saftey record and at an exceptional price for a long time now. Like and show it some love
Hear Hear!
Are you kidding! Russia has way higher launch costs and they have also put largest amount of trash in space by far. They are in the Guiness World Records for most trash put in orbit!

i lv how space travel is progressing every time there is a launch i get a warm and fuzzy feeling inside
how is it progresing? in 50 years we still havent gone back to the moon on a human mission. sad.
I stayed up all night to see this then I fell asleep 10 minutes to launch. Nice

not really. this one is smaller and the pink flame is amazing.
perfect launch!I believe that this launch is THE LAST SOYUZ LAUNCH before the FIRST american manned mission since the last STS-135 Flight.

That was cool how the camera on the rocket showed a first person point of view so we got to see what it looks like leaving the Earth’s atmosphere.
I'm going to do this in english because it is how this video deservs. This launch shows just how much the space traveling has develop throughout this 60 or so years, how easier to respect of how this thing where made that time ago. It's still fasinating to see this type of things, and I bet it is so much more amazing seeing this actually there, this shows us how insignificant actually we are but that we can still do things to understand how where we live is, how its works, how in hindsight actually we are and how we actually are.
This was a school homework, that's why this sound so pretencious. THX

You must give it to the russians, those *RED* flames out of the rocket look badass haha
i think it's a result of the nozzle.
but you should see the Proton's exhaust plume. It's this awesome transparent orange-red
Russian rockets definitley have the coolest looking plumes
nice try, ivan. saturday's spacex launch will burn yellow with luxurious capitalist fervor. better dead than red.

Every time I watch one of these launches I'm imagining what an absolute thrill and adrenaline rush it must be to be sitting atop that powerful rocket and feel and see yourself being lifted into space. I've gone skydiving which is pretty intense, but this looks like it's got that beat by a mile.

Very true. Chris Hadfield explained it once. He said you don't get in, so much as put it on.
Huge difference

Yes, you see it takes space-time to find a cure for covid-19
I think they just braking the law of isolation and keeping safe the ISS hahahaha
@NASA are the rocket's acceleration limited most by human physical limit, structural limit from low altitude air density, or limited by technology?
The first two.
Mainly air density as accelerating too fast isn’t fuel efficient. Human limit and structural limit are factors to.
Good luck !!!

not to give you good content to see !
Go and ask the Americans. Russian stream 1080p: watch?v=GRPGbfxTN94
How long from take off does it take to get to the space station
indiana146 depends on the launch, often a day or two as it takes multiple orbits for them to reach the station
Six hour for Soyuz, 3 hours for Prpgress
8 minutes to orbit, and then another 3-6 hours (depending on the rendezvous trajectory) to actually reach the ISS. It used to take almost 3 days, but they figured out a better trajectory.
