- At 2:49 a.m. EST on March 2, SpaceX launched Crew Dragon’s first demonstration mission from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The intent of this test flight without crew on board the spacecraft was to demonstrate SpaceX’s capabilities to safely and reliably fly astronauts to and from the International Space Station as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.
Crew Dragon docked with the ISS on March 3 at 3:02 a.m. PST, becoming the first American spacecraft to autonomously dock with the orbiting laboratory. The spacecraft undocked from the ISS at 11:32 p.m. PST on March 7 and splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean at 5:45 a.m. PST on March 8. - Наука та технологія
SpaceX's engineering and execution is getting so good that these really are becoming routine. I have a lot of respect for all the dedication and planning that went into making this so amazing. Most of all, the video didnt cut out during the 1st stage landing!
Speaking of planning, you guys have REALLY stepped up your livestream. I love the new HUD and multiple cameras to keep it interesting. I woke my mother up for the launch and we both loved watching the livestream!
You guys are turning Science-Fiction into Science-Reality

@@PistonAvatarGuy the technology used by the russian Soyuz is effective but really cramped and over 50 years old. Plus, it's quite expensive given that the rocket boosters are lost with every launch. Spacex is tackeling this issue using really impressive and revolutionary innovations making the launch way less expensive, with a larger payload capacity. It's these developments that we will benefit from a lot in the next decades. Making space travel much more accessible than ever before and paving the road for so many more mankind leaping steps!

Who is “we”? LOL. you aren’t going. Nobody is going on something that small. It’s going to take a pretty massive spaceship that can carry people, cargo, food and supplies to mars. Even if the people were put in a cryogenic sleep, they have to have all that stuff when they wake up. We’re no where close to going to mars. Maybe in the next 20 years.

Mark Naughton - “We” was a joke dude.
How many Earth years does it take a space craft to get to mars? We already sent a rover there, how long did that take? How are “we” keeping human(s) alive for that long just to get there, much less explore the planet then return to earth?
What will the people do once they get there? Cut down some trees and built a hut to live in? Gather some berries so they have food to eat? Or maybe they live in the spacecraft. How much food and supplies will need to be onboard to sustain that journey for that long?

Just an Earth plushie
Decoy Ex May you explain me the pun related to the name, please? I do not get it :(
Ripley is the main character from the space sci-fi movies "Alien" franchise. Another joke SpaceX has made is calling the crew ship "the Dragon." From now on, astronauts will go to space "riding the Dragon" which is a 19th century slang term for "getting high" (from smoking opium)...
And lets not forget the Falcon 9 is named after the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars
Congratulations on another successful launch.
This is another milestone on the road to Mars and beyond.
Texan 214 technology on earth, to filter out methane and greenhouse gases would take thousands of years because we can only launch a little bit of stuff at a time to Venus along waiting for the launch window every many years
@Texan 214 Mars first, if for no other reason than it's easier to land on and re-launch (a bonus of lower gravity). Venus later, lots more tech needed to get that to happen.
@Texan 214 mars has a better atmo then venus though, and you can do more research on the ground on mars, then in a space station in venus' atmosphere.
Texan 214 Venus is not inside the habitable zone. Earth is on the inner edge, mars is on the outer edge. Venus is outside of it.
Texan 214 Cooling down venus is not an option for us right now. We can only focus on the moon and mars, and not even really mars.
Whoever is designing the interior of the next space station could/should learn a lot about it from the interior designers of Crew Dragon!.... Neat, Clean, Functional. Puts the interior of the ISS to shame. Excellent job SpaceX!
Don't forget that the ISS isn't exactly something that got built last year! ;-)
Also, ISS needs to support astronauts for very long periods of time, and is designed to also incorporate as much scientific equipment as possible. Crew Dragon looks neater, but that is because it is a transport, not a multifunctional living and research space created over 20 years ago
Puts the Soyuz to shame too!
