  • At 2:49 a.m. EST on March 2, SpaceX launched Crew Dragon’s first demonstration mission from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The intent of this test flight without crew on board the spacecraft was to demonstrate SpaceX’s capabilities to safely and reliably fly astronauts to and from the International Space Station as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.
Crew Dragon docked with the ISS on March 3 at 3:02 a.m. PST, becoming the first American spacecraft to autonomously dock with the orbiting laboratory. The spacecraft undocked from the ISS at 11:32 p.m. PST on March 7 and splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean at 5:45 a.m. PST on March 8.

SpaceX's engineering and execution is getting so good that these really are becoming routine. I have a lot of respect for all the dedication and planning that went into making this so amazing. Most of all, the video didnt cut out during the 1st stage landing!
Speaking of planning, you guys have REALLY stepped up your livestream. I love the new HUD and multiple cameras to keep it interesting. I woke my mother up for the launch and we both loved watching the livestream!

How many Earth years does it take a space craft to get to mars? We already sent a rover there, how long did that take? How are “we” keeping human(s) alive for that long just to get there, much less explore the planet then return to earth?
What will the people do once they get there? Cut down some trees and built a hut to live in? Gather some berries so they have food to eat? Or maybe they live in the spacecraft. How much food and supplies will need to be onboard to sustain that journey for that long?
Sounds like a one way suicide mission to me, all to get no more intel than the rover did.

I love seeing the comments from people around the world; It brings a tear to my eye. I cant wait to see how mass space tourism changes the people on this planet. As Bill Hicks said, we will put our petty differences behind us and explore the cosmos together in peace.

codyd jenkins, same man. Connecting with people from all walks of life, right here on the good ol' Internets! It is pretty amazing, Huh?
And you had to bring up Bill Hicks. Good on you man!
I'll never forget his Life is Like a Ride in an Amusement Park speech.
I used to know it verbatim.
Anyway, cheers to you & yours Sir!

Not bad for a nerd from Pretoria South Africa, Really inspiring and uplifting in a time when earthlings are behaving like pack animals during a pandemic of Covid19 and riots in America. I hope this lanch reminds us all that we are capabale of so much more.
