Enya is Irish and lives in a castle, she is very private about her personal life. Enya's birth name is Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáink, she is Ireland's best-selling solo artist, and she has a net worth of 140 million dollars.
She sings all the parts and layers them over each other. Love Orinoco Flow. A lot of her music is good for going to sleep. She's Irish. If you like her also check Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan. Beautiful music.
I discovered Enya after I got sober. I was jumping out of my skin on the inside, but her music settled me down. That was, incredibly, 35 years ago. Her musician still like balm for the soul.
It's interesting seeing this reaction without the backstory. This song was used in a 9/11 memorial video. I can't separate the song from the visuals in that memorial. It's still on UA-cam. Just search the song with 9/11 after it. Beautiful song and an honest reaction. Thanks BP

"may it be" "Orinoco flow' "carribean Blue" are all get ones to check out. my mom got me into listening to Enya when i was like 16 and it was always great to just chill and put on Enya and go to my own universe. lol
My mother loved Enya! I had to play it for her, in her very last days. She passed away in 2013 at nearly 88. She always loved the music, her kids played. Including Rolling Stones, Deep Purple and the whole 60th. Always mind opened and with free spirit.
A beautiful song I believe that this Celtic Music Reminds me of the Celtic Women They always put out great music my favorite song from them is You Raised me up
You need to have a listen to Caribbean Blue and Storms in Africa. Enya is from the multi talented Irish family who formed the band Clannad. She rose to the top of the UK charts at the end of the 80’s as a solo artist with the song Orinoco Flow. With Enya it is more than just her voice, as with Clannad, who you should take a look at. Clannad whose lead singer is Moira Brennan (Enya’s’ big sister) also did the music for the 80’s TV programme Robin of Sherwood, which was a big success in the US and still has many fans over there today.
For those who remember the attacks of September 11, 2001, this song in particular came as a balm to a wounded nation. It's haunting melody gave us all permission to weep for what had happened. I was an Enya fan for years before that horrible day, and this song has cemented itself into my consciousness of what we endured. To this day, I still get a bit emotional just listening to it.
I was introduced to Enya's music back in the 90s by a pharmacist I worked with. When the inpatient pharmacy was a little hectic and she was getting stressed, she would put on an Enya CD. She called it her "audio Valium". Best description of Enya's music I've ever heard. I've loved her ever since. And yes, you're pronouncing her name correctly!
She was with her family group for around 2 yrs 1980-82ish. My favourites from Clannad is the theme music from "Harry Game" and the theme music from the 80s tv series "Robin (The hooded man) of Sherwood." I love Enyas "May it be" (The theme music from LOTRs, The Fellowship of the Ring) and Orinoco flow. 😄
Well, this got me ramped up to go and listen to more Enya. I love her delicate, melodic style, the multi-layering of her vocals. Beautiful. Orinoco Flow will always have a special part in the heart of my family. It's probably one of her best known. We used to turn up the sound and the kids would get pumped, as would we, Enya style. 🕊☮
Enya was a member of the group Clannad, a very musically talented Irish band. Their music was haunting and beautiful, but they used a lot of electronic assistance to produce their unique sound. They wrote the theme to the series 'Robin of Sherwood' a series based on the adventures of Robin Hood, and the theme was called Robin (the hooded man). Enya broke away and persued a solo career. She has a pleasant voice, but still sounds electronically enhanced. 🙂💜💐🇬🇧
Celtic music is another huge rabbit hole! I was a volunteer during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, and a friend of mine came into town to stay with me; he was volunteering in Olympic Village, in the music listening room, where athletes could check out albums to listen to while relaxing and preparing for their events. He told me the most popular artist they were listening to was Enya. She has some gorgeous stuff; all very ethereal and laid back like this, with a strong Celtic feel. Some of her songs seem mainly instrumental, where her voice is like another of the instruments. Check out "Ebudae" by her for a slightly stronger style, all sung in the Celtic language. "Caribbean Blue" and "Orinoco Flow" were other hits for her. She also did a lovely piece from an opera called The Bohemian Girl entitled "Marble Halls" that displays more of her vocal range. If you like this vibe, check out Anúna, another Irish group of both women and men that sings a lot of a cappella music in this vein, including some ancient Irish melodies. They did a lot of the music in the stage show Riverdance. A couple of theirs I love include "August" and "The Flower of Maherally". I've seen them in concert twice, and there's a song they do called "Jerusalem" where they start out in different parts of a large church, so the sound is swirling all around you, and they slowly walk until they come together for the climax of the song; it's interesting on recordings, but nothing compares to hearing it live with the singers positioned all around you. That's a magical experience.
I was in college when this song came out. Some of my friends were into bands like Nirvana and REM, some into Dave Matthews Band, and some into House of Pain and Cypress Hill. But most everyone was into Enya. It was unexplainable - it was wild.
Love Enya, have all her albums and have listened to her for decades. Meditative, beautiful and easy on the nerves. Rough day? Kick back, close your eyes and listen to some Enya.
The subtlety of her delivery brings this ethereal quality that is almost hypnotic, but always results, for me at least, in a sort of bliss as if I were laying on a floating cloud. Weird to say, I know. Another huge bit of hers is "May it Be" from The Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring Soundtrack. It's a banger, man!
I first heard Enya 's "Orinoco Flow" back in 1988. I had no idea who was singing and I actually thought it was a new song by ABBA who had only broken up seven years earlier. I finally found out who she was and I have several of her albums. I agree that a lot of her music is similar, but listen to "Orinoco Flow". It has more power behind it.😊
Enya’s music got me through some pretty tough moments in my life. I played this CD religiously every night when sleep was something I desperately needed and I refused to take medication for anxiety. That was 23 yrs ago. I still love her music. I am wondering if you’ve ever heard of Dimash Qudaibergan? He’s a singer from Kazakhstan, he has a 6-7 octave range and sings in 12 languages. He is not from earth, I’ve NEVER heard anything like him before and I’ve listened to a lot of everything. If you do decide to do a reaction to him, start with the song that made him go viral, S.O.S. Slavic Bazaar, a live performance released about 6 years ago. He sings this song in French. I promise, you will not be sorry!
Enya's songs are very heavenly. Her song "Caribbean Blue" is so good. Many people don't know that she may do hundreds of layers of her own voice on each recording to achieve that sound.
I'm primarily a rock/blues/country/jazz listener (lifetime) with the notable exception of ENYA. Her music soothes. My missus doesn't care for it oddly enough!
As a School Bus Driver I like to play a wide variety of music for the kids on the bus. My Monday morning playlist is all Enya! Why? Its relaxing and soothing. Seems like a great way to start a week of schooling after the weekend.
People listen to Enya because she doesn't go crazy with the vocals. When you need a break from that high low songs you just sit back and soak up the angelic tone.
All the way from Ireland, where I was born! She really is an amazing singer & love all the other songs of hers, Enya has such a unique voice & love her name!!!
I studied at Trinity College Dublin during the summer of 1991 (I’m from the U.S.). While I didn’t see Enya or Clannad perform (which I would have loved), I did come across a memorable band, called The Saw Doctors, at an outdoor music festival in Dublin. Strange that U2 was the last band to perform there on that night, but I remember The Saw Doctors more. I’ve never come across any UA-cam reaction channel reacting to a Saw Doctors song. You ever hear of them?
Enya is amazing. You pronounced her name right. Its Celtic music. Very soothing, beautiful. You will love her music. It just lifts you up. ❤ Thanks for playing this!!
One thing many people don't know about Enya's music is she plays all the instruments and does all the singing with overdubs. The technical genre of this music is New Age.
Enya, the stage name of Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáin, is an Irish singer and composer who has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide. Her distinctive style, which she calls “Enya”, is characterized by multi-layered soundscapes and hundreds of layers of her own vocals. Her music blends ancient and modern elements, folklore and ambience, and human and electronic sound.
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣 It's called ASMR!! I use it all the time! It stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. I use it for sleep, but there's other forms of things it can due. It can help with with headaches, helps with anxiety, among other things!! I'm glad you said that! At least we both know someone else is watching!! lol 😂 I've never even heard of anyone knowing what it is!! 😴😴😴
Whaaaat!!! What!!! RIP Uncle Bob! You passed away from spinal cancer, but during your sickness and treatment, you and your family found comfort in this song, was also played at your funeral. Miss you ❤
I absolutely love Enya´s music. I´m mentally ill, so I need a lot of No Stress music to calm my emotions. So no high pitch for me - just calm. Thank you for this 🙂
Enya made a record where she had 110 over voices all pitch-perfect. As you know, if the last over dub is out of key, the 109 previous dubs are ruined and start all over. Only a handful of singers are capable of such vocals ✨️🎶👑🎶✨️ All the voices are hers with no Autotune
Mey her once when she played a small venue in Seattle. I told her that I couldn't count how many nights I had fallen asleep to her voice. She gave me a big hug. Very sweet lady
I first heard this song in the movie Sweet November. I literally got goose bumps and was moved to tears. That’s rare for me. One of the most moving songs I’ve ever listened to. The musicality and her tone moved me even more than the words. Not all music is meant to be measured by range of vocals. This song transports me to a very tranquil, introspective place.
You're right about her vocal ability. It's good and nice, but the production. Amazing. She writes the music, her friend. a lady, write the lyrics and her husband produces. They hit on something special so many years ago. Kept it up for many years, several albums, released every 5 yrs or so. She has sold so many albums over the years and has so many fans across the world. If word got out that she's releasing another one, millions would be in tears I'll Guarantee you. I love music, all kinds, but I am sure I've spent way more time listening to Enya over the years than anyone else. China Roses, Anywhere Is, There are so many to choose from. Yes, it is certainly a vibe
Enya has such a diverse musical presence, she does all her own backing, she also plays the cello and piano plus other music on her records. Her brother and sister also accompany her. She was in Clannad a famous Irish band containing her siblings. A multi talented and skilled artist. This is a soft one. She has other interesting music. Mood pieces. Great for kids and lulling upsets within a family dynamic.
I love this LP when it came out used to play the whole thing all the time Great tune really glad you got a chance to experience it. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the great work I probably bought a half dozen CDs and gave them to friends to expose them when it first came out and then she took off and everybody knew who she was. I was quick on the draw with this comment I thought you were doing her first LP and she has a number of hits off of that that are popular... This one was great as well I pretty much bought all of her CDs when they came out.
cheers for this :D LOVE Enya, loved Clannad, so much more for you to see from this artist for sure. She's had some absolutely huge tracks. Never underestimate how difficult it is to sing soft and slowly. (nowhere to hide there) Also, Enya composes all her own works.
"Mad tranquil vibes" perfect description of Enya's music. My niece has panic attacks, so I recommended listening to Enya when she feels her stress coming on. She has thanked me numerous times for this.
A know a lot of people really like this song, and I think it’s pretty, but to me two of her best are “May It Be” and my favorite, “If I can be where you are.” The video of the second that looks like she’s in a cemetery is also visually stunning. She has she a beautiful voice.
Enya was the biggest selling female artist by far before we had the internet explosion and and she never toured. She may be still up there as one of the all time best selling artists that's there.
Enya’s music was part of my studying and first pregnancy playlist. Calm enough to keep me even keel when I was super stressed (being pregnant attending college was not easy) and lively enough to keep me awake when I had boring deep topics to absorb.
Every album of Enya is a real masterpiece! I'm 47 now and I started my 'Enya-journey' in early 90s when I was just blown away by her "Evening Falls". Her music always calms my mind and soul. Greets frome Russia!
Must listen "Orinoco Flow!!!"
My favorite!
You will hear more range with Enya on the album "Watermark", which contains "Orinoco Flow".
fully agree. This song doesn't show near enough of her talent as Orinoco Flow does. This is so repetitive and gets boring
Wasn't he one of the wombles?
Exile is her very best IMO :)
Listening to Enya is like discovering a magic place
probably why Peter Jackson had her do some vocals in LOTR!
Yes.
Exactly.
It`s not about her range.
Any song by Enya takes me to a good place.
Etherial...beautiful..
relaxing...
I agree. So relaxing.
Enya is Irish and lives in a castle, she is very private about her personal life. Enya's birth name is Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáink, she is Ireland's best-selling solo artist, and she has a net worth of 140 million dollars.
Wow!!!
Thank you. I had heard this before but was not familiar with her name.
excuse me...
she lives in a castle, ALONE, with 6 CATS. Enya leads a perfect life.
I love her family's music. Clannad? They did such beautiful music on the Last of the Mohicans and in the 80s for the Robin of Sherwood tv series.
@@sivonnithe one with Bono ….In A Lifetime…isa favourite of mine
Enyas music is called Celtic music. Which originates from Ireland. In my opinion, it's very beautiful.
Celtic Musi Los comes from Scotland
You might want to educate yourselves about the 8 ancient Celtic nations before saying anything. Google is your friend.
No.... She has some songs with that vibe, but her music isn't Celtic. Her music is New Age pop/rock with contemporary instrumental.
@laurabailey1054 Thank you for the information. I had heard the phrase Celtics warrior use on Irish. So I have been misinformed.
If you think this is Celtic music, then you clearly are not familiar with it, she is new age, with contemporary pop influence
Unconditional fan here. "May it be", from "The Lord of the Rings", is just phenomenal. And if I need to relax, "Evening falls" never fails.
My husband wants this as his parting music from this world and that makes me cry so much.😢
She also sings "Aniron" in that soundtrack.
She sings all the parts and layers them over each other. Love Orinoco Flow. A lot of her music is good for going to sleep. She's Irish. If you like her also check Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan. Beautiful music.
Absolutely! I was going to suggest the same Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan are amazing Celtic female artists.
Yes!
Bonny portmore was my mum's funeral song. Absolutely love it.
@@gilliansl he also needs to listen to Enya in her family's musical group, Clannad
Loreena MCKennit, its just breathtakingly beautiful music..The Mummers Dance!
I am convinced this is the song that is playing when you arrive in Heaven. Just a beautiful song all around.
Orinoco Flow is a must listen from Enya. Her music was meditative 🧘♂️
This wonderful piece of music from Enya was used at the memorial of 9/11. There are Celtic tones throughout here music which reflects her heritage.
It actually came out in 1994
@@TeresaOverholt-ky1ctit did but the memorial used her song
Even within Celtic music Enya is unique. Have all her albums. Enya is multiple talented. You should listen to more of her works.
Enya started of in her famiilys Irish folk band Clannad in the 80s
I discovered Enya after I got sober. I was jumping out of my skin on the inside, but her music settled me down.
That was, incredibly, 35 years ago. Her musician still like balm for the soul.
It's interesting seeing this reaction without the backstory.
This song was used in a 9/11 memorial video. I can't separate the song from the visuals in that memorial. It's still on UA-cam. Just search the song with 9/11 after it.
Beautiful song and an honest reaction. Thanks BP

I love Enya's music...SAIL AWAY...was great! Her music is relaxing, very etherial...
Made a mistake meant Orinoco Flow...not Sail Away...lol
Enya’s “Boadicea” from 1986 was sampled by the Fugee’s for the main instrumental of “Ready or Not.” It was also sample by Mario for “I Don’t Wanna Know”

When you're approaching closer to the end of your lifeline, this song hits way different!
Amen! I'm 61 now, and while I loved this song when it was first released, there's a different feel to it now.
My mother loved Enya! I had to play it for her, in her very last days. She passed away in 2013 at nearly 88.
She always loved the music, her kids played. Including Rolling Stones, Deep Purple and the whole 60th. Always mind opened and with free spirit.
A beautiful song
I believe that this Celtic Music
Reminds me of the Celtic Women
They always put out great music my favorite song from them is
You Raised me up
Thanks for reacting to Enya, she is amazing. Her voice is Angelic.
Ooooh yeahhhh. Enya in the house 😂❤ my favourite of hers is "Caribbean Blue"- you NEED to hear it BP
"Caribbean Blue" is an awesome song!

Me too ❤
All the choir voices, are hers, overlayed!!
as the comedian Peter Huges says..... no one hate Enya.....she paints silence
Orinoco Flow was the first song of hers that I ever heard. Just love her voice!!!!! I remember after 9/11 this song was played a lot for tributes.
Her sister has a and called Clannad. They did the theme song for Last of the Mohicans.❤
Clannad was made up of mostly the same family of which Enya is a member.

Enya's sister, Moya Brennan, does the vocals in the huge Trance hit, Saltwater. You should react to that song as well.
I love this LP when it came out used to play the whole thing all the time Great tune really glad you got a chance to experience it. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the great work
I probably bought a half dozen CDs and gave them to friends to expose them when it first came out and then she took off and everybody knew who she was. I was quick on the draw with this comment I thought you were doing her first LP and she has a number of hits off of that that are popular... This one was great as well I pretty much bought all of her CDs when they came out.
I have everyone of her CDs been kistening since 1996. She is an angel❤
Beautiful, mental relaxation ❤
My mom adored Enya. This song makes me cry. I miss you, Mom. So much it hurts to breathe sometimes. EL 1935-2012
cheers for this :D LOVE Enya, loved Clannad, so much more for you to see from this artist for sure. She's had some absolutely huge tracks. Never underestimate how difficult it is to sing soft and slowly. (nowhere to hide there) Also, Enya composes all her own works.
She's very musically talented. She plays all the instruments and does all the vocals, even the harmonies, on this album.
I am usually in line with your reactions but I love this song and I find her voice haunting. 🙃
As a massage therapist I have heard this CD on a loop. Weirdly first like relaxing score music mainstream She is a great artist.
LOVE IT! I get chills every time I hear this!! ❤ I LOVE ENYA ..not really a Celine fan.
Enya was the biggest selling female artist by far before we had the internet explosion and and she never toured. She may be still up there as one of the all time best selling artists that's there.
I knew this song before because I had the album, but it got huge after 9/11.😥A song like balm on a wound. A song people really needed these days
Try ‘May It Be’. I loved that one at the end of FotR. She’s know to be exceedingly shy. I was surprised to see her singing ‘May It Be’ at the Oscars.
Enya’s music was part of my studying and first pregnancy playlist. Calm enough to keep me even keel when I was super stressed (being pregnant attending college was not easy) and lively enough to keep me awake when I had boring deep topics to absorb.
I love your reactions, and there is one moment that I couldn't help but laugh at during this one. Tranquility, by definition, can not pop off 😂
I loved Enya...her music was so relaxing!
Every album of Enya is a real masterpiece! I'm 47 now and I started my 'Enya-journey' in early 90s when I was just blown away by her "Evening Falls". Her music always calms my mind and soul. Greets frome Russia!
Same for me, I'm 48, Orinoco Flow is one song that I never pass on! Hi from EUSA! 🇺🇲❤️🤍💙🙏
I know this song from playing in Kraft macaroni and cheese commercials. It is a beautiful song!
Sail Away is my favorite song of hers
Enya is Irish from Donegal.
She sings in English and Gaelic.
And Latin.
