So today i decided to take the M41 out to the puddle for a speed run on 6s. It has not rained for a few weeks properly in the Uk, for a change !!!, so the water level at the puddle has gone down quite a lot. This place is best in after a few days of rain. But anyway, i had come to the puddle so I wasn’t going until i had done a run with it and with the gps connected.
The batteries that i am using today were 2 x 3s Zeee batteries, 5200 MAH and 80C rating. I know that smaller and lighter batteries would be more suited for a speed run but i had bought these batteries for this boat with the view that i need run time as a priority for general use rather than for a speed run.
Just for a bit of info, when i first started using this boat, i used a low C rating battery. It may be the fact that its a low C rating or maybe the fact that its a cheaper end manufacturer of battery, but the C rating on my other batteries were 30c and 50c. The boat didnt seem to like them. When you pull full trigger the second shut off so you had to pull full trigger slowly and let the power build up slowly. However, with the new 80c batteries this does not happen, you pull full trigger and the boat shoots off as it should do 👍.
Anyways, i was happy with the result today considering i didnt really have a long enough length of water to build up the speed.

I will go back after we have had a bit of rain and try again. Those batteries that you recommended were distinctively better, so much so that i have bought another set. No esc cutting out with those 80c batteries 👍

Thanks Ray. I love driving this boat. The accelleration on it is brilliant and when it flies past you it sounds awesomme lol. I like coming to this spot because, although people dont believe me until they come here for themselves, this is just a large puddle. It is not a pond or lake !!!!! It is also only knee deep which makes it perfect because if your boat happens to capsize then you can walk in and retrieve it lol. You will see on some videos that people go on lakes and have to swim out to retrieve their boats lol. The only problem with my puddle is that when there is no rain for a while it soon shrinks in size. So it is best in the winter months really. But considering how small of a run up i had i think it did well to get 46mph. Thanks buddy

They are awesomme bro. You wont be dissapointed. I love driving this boat, it accelerates like a drag car lol and it sounds brilliant in the water too. But i would recommend that you will need decent batteries in it. I have 80c rating in it. When i use cheaper batteries or lover C rating then it doesnt run as good and its slower too. And make sure you got space to store it because its HUGE lol. I will look out for your new purchase dude

But yeah, 46mph in limited space with heavy batteries is pretty impressive mate. You'll have to give her a proper go on one of those Rivington reservoirs. Thanks a lot dude. Yes i had my wellies on lol. I actually bought a pair of waders from eBay that go right up to my waist. This puddle usually goes about knee height, but that means that when you walk in it with wellies, water splashes over the top and you get wet feet lol, so i bought some waders which work perfect 😎. This big puddle was a little shallow today because we have not had much rain but i knew it would be hit and miss when i went here today. So i to am very happy with the result, just shows how fast this thing accelerates !!!! And it might not look it on the video but these boats are really bid too. We have been meaning to go to one of the lakes at the bottom of Rivington but we just haven’t managed to sort a day out, time just flies by doesn’t it

The puddle is a little shallow at the moment because we have not had that much rain over here recently. A few of us were in this area only a couple of weeks ago and the puddle was much deeper at that time. It’s best in the winter on this to be fair after plenty of rain. But i still had a blast and i am really happy with the 46 mph, didnt quite expect that to be honest 👍

It was a little shallow today because we not had that much rain recently, FOR A CHANGE lol, but it was still a good blast and i am more than happy with the result. That’s pretty good acceleration for such a big boat too 👍

Thanks a lot John. I am really happy with the 46 mph on such a short stretch. I am confident that on a longer stretch i might get another couple of mph. I had my gallbladder removed a flew years ago. Key hole surgery thingy lol. You will be very sore after the operation John. For a few days after the operation it was hard work going from lie down position to sit up position. I had to use my hands to pull me up. It also hurt to stand up straight lol. Bit after a week or so it got better. But it is definitely worth it John because when i had a couple of attacks from the stone thing that moves and causes immense pain, i never want to experience that pain again lol. Getting a kit to occupy yourself is a great idea. I will look out for the videos matey. Let me know how your op goes 👍

Sorry for slow reply dude, i only just seen this comment !!!! I think they must look faster on water because of all the water spray that you get at the back of the boat. It remember watching a doicumentary about the Dukes of Hazzard program, are you familiar with it ?, it was my favourite program as a kid lol, but the director use to put loads of loose leaves on the road for the General Lee to drive over because it made the car look like it was going faster , i think it is the same with the water lol

Thanks a lot Ash. These new batteries are much better than the older less C rating ones that i was using at first. I have actually ordered another set of batteries for it so i have 2 sets. One set isn’t enough for a boat day lol.

Thanks Mike. Yes, we have not had that much rain over here recently, actually makes a nice change lol, so the puddle was a little shallow today. Even just a couple of weeks ago i was here with a few of the crew doing a bit of crawling and the puddle was much deeper. But i still managed to have a bit of a blast and i was really happy with the 46 mph on such a short run. I had 80c batteries in it which i think helped, so much so that i have since ordered another set lol. Thanks buddy

Am well happy with the result. Just shows how fast these things accelerate lol. As for the on board footage, i love on board footage but i dont use my go pro for that. I have a Hawkeye Firefly Q6 camera for that. They are quite cheap and they are not very big. They are a rectangular shape which makes then very easy to celotape onto RC bodies 👍

Thanks bro.i think it might hit 50 mph on a longer stretch too. It also has the capability of moving the batteries along the inside of the hull in different positions. This may make a difference too ?
@@tiborvon I don't know anything about RC boats although I've got an old one from the 90s and a hull, which I'd like to equip some time with all the parts. But I can imagine that putting the battery to the rear would increase turning and contribute to snappy change of direction, and putting it farther up front would increase straight line performance and stability. Possibly even give more speed because the hull wouldn't lift as much thus giving a better attack angle of the propeller? I'm just guessing here bro, but I'd like to know the answer to your question myself. 🙂

Thanks a lot dude. I actually just got a metal prop which is from the sonic wake, i havnt tried it yet but it is a couple of mm bigger than the stock one.
@@tiborvon Makes a massive difference, run high C rated batteries too for speed runs, mine are 140C so you have a massive burst of power straight away.
Yes i agree. I originally had some 50c batteries in this and it didnt run well. So i bought these 80c and they are noticeably better. I dont have any higher rating than 80 but i might have to have a look at investing in some.

Hi. I compared the M41 and the Spartan and I must say that the Spartan is faster. But the M41 is more stable. So that's how it works
I would have to agree with you. Some of my friends have V hull and they appear to be faster but they are not as stable either in a straight line or when turning. And they turn upside down more easily. Having said that, with a V hull boat, you tend to have self righting which is a very good feature. The M41 type of boats do not have this function which can be a pain lol. But for me, this means that you have to drive the boat more realistically. You can not just pull full throttle all the time. You have to drive it depending on the water conditions. This is something that i actually enjoy because it is more skilful and realistic. Having said that,Volantex have one brought out a non V hull boat that has self righting. Since this video I have bought a V hull boat. I have only taken it for 2 runs so i am not fully experienced with it yet, but it is definitely not as stable in this form. I have also since had 48 mph from my M41 without any mods, just under different condition. Thanks for watching my friend

it and the water resistance of the M41 is greater. In fact, the electronics are exactly the same as the Spartan, and the aforementioned water resistance tends to drain the battery.
And as for the more realistic management and behavior of the ship, you're right. Other boats are needed for more realistic swimming.

Yes, the battery life on boats is not to great lol. But i suppose another reason for this is because we are always full throttle when driving our boats lol. I also wish you a nice day my friend 😎
