    I've had an Extreme Flight 78" Extra with a DA35 on it for about four years now. I LOVE that airplane. I'm not a hard core 3D pilot but can do most of the basic aerobatics and this plane is so forgiving. It's a true joy to fly.

    I was going to buy this plane, looked at the 60 dollar shipping fee an thought not bad, added to cart and durring checkout they added 80 bucks ontop of the 60! Was a bummer, i backed out and bought a AJ Lazer 73" they shipped the cowl in a diffrent box so no surcharge fee. :)

    it's a lovely plane alright. mine has the dle30 so i had to put 75g of lead on top of the engine to balance correctly. it flies so well it's just amazing and such a good quality kit as well. love your videos👌

    Would you be able to do an introduction video on using gas engines in planes?
    It would be great for electric pilots who want to transition to bigger models.
    Thanks!

    The ignition battery on my 60cc yak 55 came off in flight and I didn't notice until I was disassembly. Oops

    @thinks12 we are using the same servos and I didn't need to use a doubler on the grommets for the elevator servos. I think you should reconsider your mounting :)

    • @flyingrcdotnet
      @flyingrcdotnet  8 років тому +1

      There is something magic afoot here. Without the doublers the bottoms of the servos meet and the mounting flanges of the servos are raised off of the surface of the fuselage, nearly the thickness of the doubler I used which is why I used them. Since publishing this I have also received several emails from others who encountered the same issue. Perhaps there is (or was) more than one version of this fuselage along the way.

      Uhh weird...Extreme Flight did make 2 versions, but the first version wasn't made in this scheme and we have the same scheme. After work today I'll take a look at what I did and I'll send you a picture.

    Great video, thanks for sharing. Unfortunately I missed you at Joe Nall. Maybe next time. What was that battery that went lose for? Was it redundant?

    • @flyingrcdotnet
      @flyingrcdotnet  8 років тому +2

      Yes, I use dual batteries in all of my larger planes for safety. I accidentally proved that the PowerSafe Receiver really does work! As for Joe Nall, I fully intend to keep fighting and get back there next year.I had a great time and met a bunch of great people this year. Stay tuned!

    Great videos. I wonder if the electric version I have can be reinforced to run a DA50. Any tips? Would canisters help or make vibration worse? I don't really like this size electric.

      Talk to the guys at Extreme Flight. They can tell you if that is possible or not. Some electrics are more different from their gas cousins than we realize.

    hey i am planning to fit a crrc pro 50 in it ! how was the ground clearance from the prop to the ground ?? [ 22x10 ]

    • @flyingrcdotnet

      I had no problems with a 20B Vess, never tried anything bigger on that plane.

  • @richardabram4596
    @richardabram4596 7 років тому

    Yeah , that is pretty impressive, especially in that 30cc size plane.
    NO more Squat_ i assume
    Is that labeled a 30 cc size, i know you have that lite da 50 in it but is it 30 cc designed?

    • @flyingrcdotnet
      @flyingrcdotnet  7 років тому

      Yes, it flies just fine with a 30 - 35cc engine. I wanted to hot rod a plane that size and it is a handful. I have another plane in that size, the QQ YAK with a DA35 in it as it is designed for and it flies greast as well. Just matters what you want to do/try. These are good planes capable of handling large or small engines.

    This may be a long shot but do you have any experience with a cap 232 model this size? it seems a not so popular model compared to the edge design

    • @flyingrcdotnet
      @flyingrcdotnet  7 років тому

      About 30 years ago I did fly a Cap 21 but have no experience with the 232 design. From what I see at the flying fields the Edge and similar models have a big advantage, most likely just because it is a much newer design and the model makers have gotten the Edge figured out.

      You might have to cut the cowl some but I don;t see why not.
