I'm an ESL teacher from the USA. I tried using this method at a school in Malaysia and the administration reacted by threatening me with immediate discharge unless I ceased using the Suggestopedic method! The students loved it and sought me out for private lessons. Not long afterward, the school authorities found out about my activities and discharged me. I returned to Thailand and trained one of my adult Thai ESL students in this method for the purpose of teaching me the Thai language. I now speak, read and write the Thai language at the most advanced level! Keep in mind that Thai is a Category 5 language which is the most difficult level. Yes, Thai is right up there with Arabic and Chinese! In my opinion, Suggestopedia is the very best method of teaching ANY language!!

He could be the Bulgarian cousin of Taxi's Latka Gravas which makes this weak
six minute 'interview' almost entertaining to watch. The core message of using music to induce psychological relaxation in order to facilitate more effective learning could have fitted in a 30 second presentation. Nothing new here, we all have used music to accompany some types of learning and have found out that other types of learning demand silence. I do appreciate that we need to overhaul current teaching methods if they turn out to be counter-productive or inefficient.

Don't forget to check out 4:29 and the ten seconds after that when all of a sudden the horned one shows us he approves this wicked method of combining scholarly duties with the evil of profane music!

A 6-minute interview can hardly encompass the depth of the suggestopaedic method. It is much more than using music to induce relaxation and facilitate learning. So take it from a professional in the field: refrain from speaking on things you know little about.

OxfordManual, you saund like a jealous pseudo-intellectual. Dr Lizanov's System is genius, and, sorry to disappoint you, works! Should he been American or British, he would be given Nobel prize in education.

Lvanova does not answer the question on how to learn German. There is no nuero or cognitive research that illustrates that listening to music improves learning. What is referred to the Mozart Effect was blown decade ago. Lvanova reference to extremely accelerated learning is delusion. hgunn.uk

Is that why UNESCO accept his work? Numerous cases have proven him right. People like Brian Tracy quote his work as a method to achieve one's goals.
