    They say when locals in Panjim want to catch up on the goings on around town and also some delicious vegetarian fare, they head to Café Bhonsle, a 102-year-old institution that has been patronized by generations of Goans. Some aver that “such is the connect that ‘Panjimites’ have with this eatery that they may travel the world, but when they return to Goa, their first stop is at Café Bhonsle”, presumably for the comforting food - tamata bhaji, sukhi bhaji, alsanna bhaji with poori, pav, goan samosa, mirchi and much more - and also, conversation. I enjoyed my morning here, not just the food but also an interesting tête-à-tête with its friendly patrons. Café Bhonsle is a definite must-visit when you are in Panjim, and especially to get a flavour of Goan vegetarian cuisine.

    Goa is like a backyard for Belagavi folks🙃✌... Most of the daily supplies to Goa is sourced from Belagavi. And yeah that chilli in bhajji is ruthlessly spicy n hot 🔥😂.. don't get mistaken for its size😂 ... Usually hotness of a chilly is inversely proportional to its size but with this particular chilli of Belagavi the hot n spiciness is *Directly* proportional to its size 🔥😂✌....

    Coming from the Ratnagiri to Kasaragod belt, our family has never boxed itself into any linguistic group. Across our extended families we easily speak Marathi, Konkani, Kannada and Tulu.
    Come to any major family functions and you'll hear a sprinkling of many languages spoken.
    We find it funny when people and governments quarrel with each other over language.

    Thanks for showcasing one of the few family restaurants of our beloved city of Panaji on your great culinary map. Goans literally live to eat not other way around and Cafe Bhosle which we have patronised since our school days in 70s hasn't changed its quality or services. Visitors to our capital city must also visit Cafe Real, Cafe Aram, Cafe Tato for typically Goan flavours. Through prodigious diversity food unites India and Indians. Thanks for guiding the foodies like a true gourmet. Goa thanks you.

    Good morning dear Kripal - Eagerly waiting for this Goa series Vlog 👍 Wow yet another Century old eatery . That itself is a testament that the eatery would be dishing out high quality cuisines 👌As usual love your interaction with the owner , manager , chefs and Patrons 👍 Loved the kitchen your as it really gives a deeper insight into the ingredients, process and final output 🙏 Wow what a testimony for the eatery , Cafe Bhosale , that it brings a passion for every Goan living in Panjim 👌 That’s an awesome feast on your breakfast table . The Sukhi Bhajii , Tamata Bhaji , Patal Bhaji ( loaded with cashews ) , Karnataka Green Chilli Bhajji , Goan bun , Goan Samosa and the Pooris 😋😋😋 I am already salivating 😋 I have had this Tamata + Sukhino Bhaji , along with Pooris at Goan friend’s house . It was super awesome 👍 Your review was awesome of the Poori with Tamata and Sukhi bhaji 👌👌That was fab review on the Goan Bun ( ok so it’s not very sweet ) . The Pao with Paatal Bhaji is fabulous combo 😋 In fact the mixed masala , paatal bhaji could go well with Pao , Poori , Bun or the Goan samosa 👍I prefer my hot and spicy tomato ketchup along with Cheese Chilli Paratha 👍😋 I was just wondering why you didn’t feel the spice hit from the Chilli and as I was typing you did mention about the Spice hit 🥹 True that when one has a dish like Chili bhajji and then follow it with Tea amps up the heat quotient of the Tea ☕️ Glad you found a great combo of dipping the Goan Bun in the tea which acted like a dessert 👍👌 Finally you did enjoy the breakfast with the Sukhi Bhaji 👍👌 Thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed this first episode of the GOTR - Goa series . Will definitely visit this place for sure though I do recollect having gone there in 2016 or so . Nonetheless it was as usual a high content Vlog and THANK YOU CHIEF 🙏🙏 Take care , stay safe , happy eating , happy drinking and God bless 👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

      Hi Rajesh, yes, for an eatery to thrive for a century is truly special, making Cafe Bhonsle the sort of eatery that warrants a repeat visit for sure. Time, perhaps, to make plans for Goa! ;-)

      I have heard it is a recent addition, have you tasted, curious to know what is served in a Goan veg thali?

    • @akamat100
      @akamat100 2 роки тому +1

      @@FoodLoversTV It isn’t a recent addition.I am a Goan and have been devouring the thali for more than 15 years.The constituents of that Thali includes rice, tandoor rotis or pooris, 1 dry vegetable, 1 gravy vegetable, raita, chutney with a hint of garlic, coconut curry (with hint of garlic) ~the quintessential Goan delicacy, Papad, pickle,curd, kheer and dal.It is simply Goan in its flavours.Had I met you there , I would have taken you around for food pilgrimage.Have a delightful stay with soul satisfying meals.

    Hot tea with spicy mirchi bhaji is essential because the old saying "fire kills fire" is very true. Hot tea is the only thing that can combat the chilli fire. 😃
