thanks for actually LINKING the comment section!! first review i saw didn't do that and i wasn't even sure what the name/make of the guitar even *was* !
I don’t understand the fellows negative view on Carbon fiber guitars. I’ve played my Rainsong and CA baritone guitar beside my 64 Gibson and any number of Martin guitars. All the guitars sound great together, they all sound slightly different but all sound lovely. $700 dollar wood guitars will be plywood guitars. This sounds just as good or better and if it has a nice low action it’s probably easier to play. Nice guitar picking.
ortegaguitars.com/products/nylon-string-guitars/nylon-string-guitars/show/Product/jade/jade/ This is $800 and it definetely isn't a plywood. These ones are even cheaper (well some of them) yuguitars.com/ No plywood there.
Just to clear something....of course it has a battery and it's a very nice one, too. I think the reason it isn't mentioned is that it is not accessible or removable by the owner. It can take as long as six hours to charge. Seems to last forever once it's charged up. I've gone a week or more between charges. One other note...stays in tune and is only affected by string stretch. Humidity means nothing. Loves a set of Slinky Cobalts 10/46
Every UA-camr that says it retails for $699 is referring to the acoustic electric model (likely without realizing). Not the freeboost model with the built in effects which retails for $100 more. Keep that in mind if you decide to buy this guitar from the lava music website
It’s a relief to see a real guitarist talk about it because whoever wrote the instruction booklet was not lol. Can’t wait to fiddle with it when it’s charged!
Great review thanks. Lava guitars have their place with the great built in effects and its almost indestructible making them the perfect beach guitar if the crowd isn't too big. The effects are wonderful in a small room but not really amplified much. Taylor GSMini is also a great travel guitar but its not indestructible and no built in effects. I immediately noticed the Lava didn't need retuning nearly as often as wood guitars when the temperature changed. I'll pass on sound comparison since its an individual taste. I will say great guitar players always have more than one guitar. Right tool for the right job. Don't expect Lava to blow away a Martin but I'm never taking my Martin D41 out to the beach. The right tool for that trip would be the Lava Me 2. The quality of your playing matters far more than the quality of the guitar. Eric Clapton could play a toy rubber band guitar and get ovations.
Very good review, with a couple of caveats...if it's rechargeable then it has a battery, it would seem that this is not accessible, (which is more of a drawback than a feature) What is the action like? also, does it have an under-saddle pickup or an internal mic' - if it's under-saddle then it may be difficult to adjust the action if (like most factory setups) it's way too high?
Nice review! I just recently got the Journey Overhead guitar and i'm loving the carbon fiber sound. :) I'd be very interested in trying this guitar out in person and comparing them. Found you through a mutual friend (Charles Berthoud) Keep making these fun videos! :D
I’ve broken 6 guitars this year I’m also a musician but I suffer with epilepsy I have fits everyday And playing my guitar helps me come around from my convulsions quicker This looks like a very strong guitar how do I get my hands on one of these to the uk 🇬🇧🎸👍🎶
Its plastic, and made by pouring into a mould. It does have a small amount of carbon fibre but is mostly plastic, they call it carbon fibre "composite", that doesn't mean its carbon fibre, carbon fibre cannot be poured into a mould, like the lava is made.
I've been gas'n for a McPherson -- bit they're spendy enough, I've been hesitant to pull the trigger. I'll be 'sighting in' one of these asap. Thanks for the demo.
How the heck can you get effects without a speaker? I can't get my head around that. unless the knob somehow changes the dimensions of the space inside the guitar, how can reverb be changed? and delay?
I don't know. It sounds best, to me, when you were just strumming chords, no effects, not plugged in. So, what would be the point? I can just do that with my Yamaha, haha. It's always so hard for me to tell from these demonstration videos. I'd have to sit in my room and just play around with it. I could see it being cool, nothing sounds BAD. I just couldn't really say 'til I messed around with it. But, yeah, they retail at like 800 bucks...so that ain't happening. Haha. It looks cool, I'll give it that. I wasn't crazy about any of the plugged-in tones, but, again, it's hard to tell. I think if I had an extra 800 bucks, I'd spend it on a different guitar.
I want to buy this guitar from soo long🥺 but I am from India and it is still not available in stock to buy from Amazon , plz tell me from where can I buy😕
Cool guitar and a great review; please make a review of the GS mini that you have in the same way of this review.. and please tell me can I own one as my only guitar or I need a full size guitar becasue I have an Epiphone AJ-220SCE and I'm thinking about selling it and buying a Taylor GS mini e walnut.. What do you think?
I'd highly recommend keeping a full-size guitar around. I find that even while travelling I take one of my full-size guitars instead of my travel guitar (which is a Harley Benton-knockoff of the Taylor GS Mini) because while it's a nice guitar for the size (and, in that case, also the price), a small guitar will always be a small guitar - less comfortable to play and with not as full of a sound. At the end of the day, I care about that much, much more than about the bit of extra weight and inconvenience. I only take it when I travel by plane (would need to pay extra to take a full-size) or when I'm afraid I might damage the instrument (e.g. on a long-distance hike).
Holding a natural wooden acoustic guitar definitely will make your showmanship outstanding if you are a good guitarist and an entertainer especially if you can tap and drum on the guitar instead of using loop and electronic effects from the artificial sound of plastic fiber ones. Natural sound that created from a single acoustic by you will definitely put you ahead of others using AI guitars.
I am really considering getting one. Just want to know if anyone knows how it sounds in a band setting? Does it cut through a mix well, and sound like an acoustic would?
Thank you for using the same chords/riffs for each effects example. Much easier to make a comparison.
This sounds really good when you finger pick.

If you don't want your 64 Gibson... I'll be happy to give it a new home 😂
The Gibson came to live with me when I was 10. Learned to play on it. No desire to give it up. I still play her.
It sounds clean but that's about it.
The tone isn't bad in and of itself but it certainly isn't one that I find appealing in an acoustic.
mine arrived three days ago and the guitar is impeccable I got it blue

I'm really keen of that Reverb + Chorus option.. Sounds great
Wonderful young lady! You play well. You stay well. Keep playing and having fun!
Never saw guitar like that Corbin fiber love effects in the way you play
Would like to hear comments on how it plays re strings to fret board. for ease of playing. As well what it sounds like using a capo on it.
Thanks Doug

Rechargable definitely not worth the money, your screwed if the battery goes bad or something happens to the charge Port.
Replace the battery. They make replacements for rechargeable batteries.

hey when demoing an acoustic, dont solo, use agressive rhythm patterns, we want to see how it really rings out

Considering that includes a "Tonewood Amp" functionality that is built-in, the value of this guitar is outstanding.
Naming a guitar the “Me 2” might not be the smartest move.
Lava me, means Wash me in Portuguese... lol 😁
A movement that robs men of their money.
More like THE smartest move.

"me 2"
@@obliqueapplications8881 and then "me 2" is replaced by "two spirit 2" and it no longer has 50% of US support.
I like the sound of this guitar which surprises me.. An ovation with a glass fiber back didn't rate the sound at all
4:39 The individual note picking sound seemed to be lacking on the top end. It was more warm sounding to me.. may be it was just the EQ??
What was that finger style piece you were playing?
Yes plz answer this... Waiting... Specially if I m right the third piece of rhythm... Thnx...

Is the battery replaceable when it no longer holds a charge? Or do just have to go buy another 🎸? Made by Apple, by any chance?
merci pour votre travail et cette très bonne présentation

Nice demo.
Hey! What about drumming on this guitar (percussion)? Does it sound good?
Omg i love your guitar❤️
Chill guys - I think we all know that she meant it didn't need a 9v disposable battery.
If it has a USB charging port......it must have a battery...... otherwise what are you charging?

There is a mic inside the guitar. Mic signal goes in a small amp powered by usb-rechargable unit, a small speaker inside the sound hole does the rest.
Lots of useful tones, including Funk :D
Lava 2 or nova sp1 tricky decision
and what are you playing in this video???? the "riff" or how you say i dont knowww...
