  • As stated, definitely not a tutorial. Just a fun video documenting one of my recent little projects. I have just begun modding NES consoles and this is only the second one I've done, and the first one I've done alone. Only goes up from here, right?

May not have been intended as a tutorial, but this was probably one of the most informative console mod videos I’ve ever watched. Good job and I look forward to seeing what’s next!!!

    Nice video. :)
I still have my old childhood NES in working order. It is yellow like the one you disassemble, but has never been opened. :)
I recently bought a raspberry pi with a NES case with I plan to install with a 5" touchscreen on my touring motorcycle - I am building a 2 wheeled knightrider project - and the mini NES will be the brains. -And ofcourse I will be able to run emulators on it as well! :D
-I might steal you black and gray paint scheeme for the mini NES! ;)

I thought I was being pranked when I read that I should boil the pin connector to clean it, but it worked for me too. Seems like the best fix for that issue.

It's a great fix. The next best thing is a new pin connector, but I try to avoid those because they tend to be too tight and can damage game pins if you aren't careful.

Nice looking restore on those Nintendos. Had to laugh when you said "this thing should just pop right out" and then the struggle... been there!
Had Voultar install his kit for me back when he was still servicing toasters. I have absolutely loved the results - ua-cam.com/video/87hUUTpGfgw/v-deo.html
