I used this tool to hide the screws - amzn.to/3S9YVUP
Would you happen to list the exact materials you used ?
Cant get this item on Amazon with that code
What's the name of that tool you use to screw sideways?
Holy crap, how far apart are those joists?
Amazing, proud of you ladies
What are those joists? 35in on center? (I'm assuming 24 and making a joke but oh man...should have done 16 at LEAST)
Place at least 2-3 layers of 1” thick square cement pavers under the fire pit. Your deck’s gonna warp in that area.
LOL At Spying at the Neighbours 😂😂😂
1 day deck in video = 7 days behind the scenes preparing 😂😂
Can't tell if you have spaced between boards, very important for expansion. Great work impressive! 😉
It's pressure treated so once they dry out they will have a bit of space. I agree I would have put a small spacer in between so when it does dry it will have a little more space than if you go tight when building it. A little bigger space between is much better for cleaning purposes.
Also rain will land on it and not drain
For me, I would’ve picture framed it. Nice job ladies!!
Hilarious your friend is me 1 board omg girl I'm tired lol
I love you and your ideas that you turn into reality.
Amazing in deed!
Looks so good 😊😊😊😊😊
Yes please more detail info. Want to learn how to do this on my own because I don't have the money to pay anyone and unfortunately my dad just yells at me rather than to teach or help me . I understand cement cost a lot I'm trying to do a deck I didn't realize that I can make it shorter like yours and what do I put underneath the deck details like that would highly appreciate it girl thank you God bless you
I feel you on that dad stuff smh same
Nice job on the 1 day build. I would highly recommend Arborcoat from Benjamin Moore for wood for a quality end result. 👍
Great job!
Very nice
Awesome!
Very cool. I wouldn't actually paint it. I'd use a penetrating oil stain like Danish Oil, or some other protective oil based product.
That’s freakin awesome!!
Looks great 👍
So you put a little gravel here and there in an attempt to level the deck? UNSAFE!! This is ridiculous because you're teaching others to do this stuff unsafely AND incorrectly!
Paint it a Miami sunset beach pink!
Very nice jobs
What is that attachment you are using?? 🤩
I thought you should never let lumber touch the ground. it should always be on concrete blocks to help with rot.
This is supported by pavers 👌
No it isn't supported by pavers. It is built over top of an existing paver patio that was in questionable condition. If this is the quality of the "reno" you're doing on this flip house, buyer beware!
@@Pandora_369 that is so sad. You've obviously saw other videos if you mentioned the other pavers. Therfore you know that she placed pavers and gravel down. Not only that, you can see them. Besides, she said the lumber was rated for ground contact. There are plenty of bashable offenses on shorts you don't have to make up something to berate a person about. Is this what your people have to deal with? Future acquaintances beware. 😉
@@caranewhart здравствуйте вы откуда?
Nice idea...and quick..,🙏🙇🙏📿🐐
Hun, you have the desire and effort but a few issues I see are: not of of the ground; Not sure if you are using treated lumber or not; I didn't see any cross tie supports and when you try to get it off the ground how are you going to support the framing? Utube. Has alot of helpful videos too
Can i ask what type of treated lumber you used - yellow wood, GC pt wood, etc. - and if you allowed to dry before installing it. The reason I ask is that, I built a smaller one with GC pt wood and let it dry out for about 3-4 weeks after I bought it. The installation went smoothly but, within a few days, most of the boards started twisting and warping! 🤬 wasted a lot of money.
I see a lot of deck and pergola videos and the wood still looks wet. So, I’m wondering if I shouldn’t have let it dry out first. Help… anyone!
You look amazing
Do you recommend putting cement papers at the bottom?
Would love to know what to that is
Was there a full video on the deck ? Looks like a good idea with the double boards in the center
So I see I’m coming a yr late. Now that the boards have dried how did the spacing turn out? Would you attach the decking differently?
Note to self, my deck has to be higher so I can spy on the neighbors because I’m too short. 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol 🤣🤣🤣
So awesome ❤
Hi amazing Job congratulations! Do you have acomplet video of the process to do it and materiales? Thanks
2 foot on center with 5/4 Board??
You girls rock! I am this kind of girl. I want something that can be made... I make it.
Where is the gates
Need more detailed video on this project! My backyard is uneven 😞 how do incorporate that with this project. Please help
She got cake
For real
How much did you spend on everything ? Getting an idea for mine !
Nic 😊what are you going to use to seal it from water “rain”?
Carried a board😂😂😂
Are those pebbles/rocks for leveling?
No consideration for expansion?
Nice 🙏🏼😇👍👌💯🌹
What size board's did you use
What is the 2 that you're using to do the screws on the side
How did you level the ground ?
I built one of these in a corner of my yard so my dogs wouldn’t turn the corner of the yard to mud. We call it The Dog Raft!
What are the measurements of the deck boards?
Measurements for the deck boards?
Looks great! Please just stain it, no paint!
Especially because she wasted all that time and money on a special tool to hide the screws. I was wondering why she was doing that with just regular pressure treated deck boards and not trex or a nice wood or something. at least using stain would justify the time used up on hiding the screws.
What size is the deck ?
Why don’t we tight the screws straight rather than angled??
Look how amazing you look 🎉
Gonna warp for sure. A for effort tho
How much did it cost
What do you think about using wood pallets to make a deck?
I’ve seen some really incredible ones!! That’s such a great way to recycle wood 👌
@DIY Dream Home with Cara Newhart do you think you'll be making a video on one at some point? I haven't found one that was like a step by step guide how to go about it. Any recommendations?
More info on that
TIE THAT HAIR UP! I was waiting for the drill to suck it in 😮
Let me give you advice from one carpenter to another. Once you put furniture on it. Youll never take it off and stain or paint it. It is what it is now haha
Did you need to get a permit?
should be a gap between the boards, to let water pass through
wood shrinks, there will be a gap there periodically.
@@chuggyhuggy8783 that is the stupidest bs it doesn't change the fact that it needs spacing, just admit you do not know wtf you are yammering about.
Great job. What size are the deck boards?
1x6. Standard size
What size is the deck?
A quicker way to do it, also with a cleaner look, is to run all your deck boards long. Then snap a line all the way down and use a skill saw, or a track saw if you have one, and run your saw all the way down cutting them all together so they will line up. This way you don't have to cut one at a time and take time to line up each one, especially if you have a whole bunch to do. If you aren't too comfortable with a skill saw and free handing with it then you can use a straight edge as a guide. Not bad at all for a normie! 😉
You incorporate with your beste and call your company “cute carpenters, Inc”😂
Did y’all see Wilson on the other side of the fence?🤣
Hahaha I it’s actually like an alley / road and we have all kinds of interesting neighbors who are always wandering around doing stuff so we had to spy 🕵🏻♀️
@@caranewhart y’all are seriously too much fun!😂🤣♥️
Nice job. But with the price of lumber nowadays concrete would have been far less expensive.
Instructions unclear, I was spying on my neighbor and now im facing 3 month imprisonment.
No noggings all the way through to strengthen or stop rafters twisting
Please do not folllow this
Привет . Хоть шатром для дачи накройте "Green glade 1033"от осадков , столько Вашего труда жалко , зимой от осадков будет портиться древесина .
What was your total cost for the deck?
About $400 👌
More information slowly please how much you spend
Am I the only nosey person here? What the neighbor was doing that's what we need more info on.
PALLETS
Watch your hair dangling by the drill. Could easily get caught and rip out chunks
You need more noggins in. They'll twist over time
Beautiful and amazingly talented good work young lady
Thank you!!
How come you put gravel down do tell us 🤔 please 🙏
It helps with drainage from rain etc
@@tiffanysmith3210 so you just put it in certain areas?
I'd love to do this on my garden I'd love to see how you prepared the area to get it level 😉
@@rosebud8832 I just revamped my mother's entire backyard you can do it for decorative purposes or for water drainage so it doesn't puddle.
@@rosebud8832 But if you would like grass or weeds not to grow in between all the rocks and take away from the look, I prefer playing cardboard boxes down versus A weed barrier mat. I've used the mat many times and always have weeds and grass growing up but Recently have been using cardboard and so far so good. plus it takes a long time to break down And doesn't cause harm to the Earth. All you would do is remove what you can lay the cardboard down Overlapping all pieces dampen with the hose And put whatever it is you want on top whether it be mulch rocks etc
In the other video she said she used the pavers and gravel to level the deck.
That’s hilarious I made a comment in the last video saying that some woman indeed need a man and here we are and your actually on the other side of the fence 😂
Your comment is ignorant. Even some Men can't do this. Not every man knows how to do this.😂 We all have different skills.😒
I want to flip houses but this makes me feel like no one will want to buy from someone my age
That would be age discrimination, you can still renovate properties and have someone else sell them if you wanted but i would say don’t let that discourage you😄😎
paint it black
Don’t paint it. It looks amazing as it is.
Women power 🙏🙏🙏🥰
Stain it
Colored stain, not paint.
Don't paint it .. stain it
You look a lot mor amazing than the deck
I think the neighbours were spying on you first ha ha
Besides your work you’re so damn gorgeous
There's no point to a ground level deck.
Stop with the deck thing ..can you landscaping for real ..deck are mostly for big city apartments and even so trees and plants are the center piece
The framing doesn’t look very stable IMO. Got a dump truck though sheesh
Great job!
Very nice
