Met Tuff years ago at Iowa State Fair when he was in his hey day. I was walking with my daughter thru the horse barn when she stopped and pointed with a smile and said that's Tuff daddy. He heard her and came over and talked to her. Made her day. He was a really nice guy.

Lane Frost was my classmate in Atoka Okla in 1982. He was the nicest person on the planet. In the 2 years I knew him, I never once saw him without a smile on his face. I was in a rock and roll band and he was in a group we called Goat ropers. RIP friend. Your legacy lives on forever.

Hey, I'm a metal head. I don't know much about country cowboy shit. But, my dad took us to rodeo 's when I was younger, and I got to see lane and tuff, and boy lane could cowboy up, and ride, like slayer could play metal. Lane, damn sure the best I ever seen on a bull. Rest in peace.

Tuff's loyalty to Lane is just epic. He may have the name 'Tuff' and he may be a bad-ass on bulls, but Tuff, you were always a good person. Lane just helped bring that out of ya, behind the typical "cowboy persona". And I'm glad he did. Mad respect to you. Enjoy your golden years and know your pal is smiling down on ya.

Feb 1994 my grandmother passed away and Gary Leffew just finished helping with the movie 8 seconds. My cousin Jimmy Vann was one of Gary's students and this movie fired up something inside of him to ride again. Jimmy would tell me about Lane and his kids holding his kids on his shoulders so they could see Lane ride. Anyways April 1994 Jimmy decides to go back to bull riding at 33 years old and drew a bull called Silverado in Red Bluff California, and the bull spun coming down on Jim's chest breaking a rib that went through his heart he stood up raised his right arm up in the air took 3 steps and fell face first in the dirt just like the movie. My cousin Jim was dead. He died doing what he loved and I'll see him one day in heaven because Jim took Jesus as his savior. Rodeo on boys Rodeo on

It was a rough day and night for all of us CFD after that for me was never the same! But more history and Facts a 🇺🇸 USA Air Force Thunderbird pilot died almost near the Statue of Lane Frost in Frontier Park... a Hero !
T-38 Flamed out on Takeoff 🛫 and the pilot and his incredible skills to... clear. The campers and Trailers and crashed into the Bull Pen killing a Bull and the pilot ejected and flew a considerable distance sideways to the Left of the aircraft and hit a hot dog 🌭 stand and stopped by the fence where Lane Frost statue is!

Tuff and Lane were at the top of their game, and then that last day in July came around and the rest is as we say "history". I wish he didn't pass away, he was my idol even if I was born decades after that

I lived not even 5 miles away from Mr. Mrs Frost. I got to speak to Clyde once and he always talk about how Lane had a sparkle in his eye that was contagious almost. And that's what inspired me to ride in highschool. Made some good friends along the way. Mason Lowe was a good friend of mine. So Tuff I understand the pain of losing not only a road partner but someone who was so close that they are like a brother to you. And that ride will never be forgotten along with the memories that were made on the journey before. Tip of the hat to ya bud.

I was fortunate enough to meet my heroes when I was 12. In 1987 I was introduced to Lane and Tuff. It is a memory I will carry to my last breath. Great riders and better men that were more than happy to spend time with a starstruck kid.

I've alway's loved the Rodeo, but I'm a racer at my core & when the racing world lost Davey Allison in 93, Lane was my first thought, they were so much alike Davey & Lane, in talent level, in career success early on in their career's, both undoubtedly headed straight to the top of their chosen profession's & both beloved for their easy going, kind, alway's smiling selves. The world was a little darker after they left it. ✝️ 🙏 😞 RIP LEGEND'S

If u aren't moved by this story. U don't understand. Thank you. These guys lived it. The PBR was born from this love of cowboying. Riding bulls. Being tough. Think I met a few at Gordyville USA. Great memories.
