I think you misread his kit. He nullifies *attribute downgrades* for 60 counts on battle start. However he does have a comeback mechanic (which is basically endurance/almost-indestructible and final counter combined) and he nullifies unfavorable elements for defense after it activates so he should be fine.
I feel like we are very close to an era where meta units will either have the most absurd unique gauges or multiple ones and I will be terrified of both outcomes
