Edifier is a pretty good brand for mid range+ audio my dad says they can hear my edifier R2750b 2 houses over when they're over there , only have it 25% volume , paired with a simple usb IFI Zen Dac V2 headphone amp @ 50% volume ... at this volume you can feel the entire house shake in the front , while the speakers are all the way in the back of the house ... some serious power and that's just with this tiny usb powered amp the subwoofers in both speakers work actually really well , when placed correctly in the room depending where you place them you can do without an actual subwoofer , there's some descent lows , with a good amp
Always love your reviews and way of sharing the actual sound, yeah it still has to come through whatever the end user is using but recording the audio played through the speakers is better than what 99% of hi fi reviewers do.
I bought the Edifier MR3 two days ago, and while the sound quality is good, I'm experiencing significant lag when connecting my guitar, keyboard, microphone, or any other instrument. This lag makes it uncomfortable to use, and I’m hoping to find a solution. Please make a video demonstrating this issue, as it will especially affect those who want to use the speaker for live recording, making it very annoying for them.
Hello good Sir, I am torn between the 4's and the 3's. I can get the 4's for 83 euros and the 3's for 101 euros. I would say MR4, but wanted to hear from somebody who listened to both of them. What would you pick from these 2? Usage: desktop PC = gaming / music / sports / youtube videos I would hook it up to my scarlet solo via balanced TRS My desk is about 60cm deep and the distance between the speakers and me looks like a nice 70cm triangle. Cheers and thanks for the reviews. (edit: MR3's have a wider frequency response, but yet are smaller ... hmm)
I got the MR4s. Great budget studio and computer speakers -- for the money. Great for gaming and playing music. And it handles my 4 - string bass, electric and acoustic electric guitar easy. The only con I found is it couldn't quite handle the low B string on my 5 string bass guitar. If you're on a tight budget get it. If you're not, get something better.
Thank you for this video. I ordered these speakers about 2-3 weeks ago and there weren't many reviews out there so I figured these are either just-released speakers from Edifier or it's simply an obscure model. I guess it's the former. So today I just took delivery of this thing. Regular price here is ~$80, got it for $59 using coupons. I'm not so sure if these sound great so I'm glad I ran across this video today. Thank you for making me glad I got this pair. It's for my daughter. I hope she likes them. She's not an audiophile (well, not yet, at least) so I guess these should do very well. It's funny because these days most kids don't have those big HiFi audio equipment anymore and instead they just stream music or use Bluetooth speakers like this one. PS - I'm not in the USA but rather closer to China so maybe that's why it's a lot cheaper here.
I wish these were out a few months ago when I was setting up my desk after my move. Was looking for something small, powered, with a headphone jack. A USB dac would also be helpful, but I have DAC I can use. I ended up just sticking with the Q150s I had even though they are a little large.
Facts I literally just bought my edifier QR65 Bluetooth headphones still love them till this day maybe one day I will upgrade my speakers once I have my own place
I still don't understand when and why I would need a DAC.. I'm running into dark requirements on headphone audio out from cell phones... I just plugged my cell phones into my multimedia speakers and they sound fine but my cell phones are 3 years old
R1280db is louder, more bassy and better for a big room e.g. sitting room. I've got R1280db and the MR4. I use the R1280db as the sitting room/TV speakers. The MR4 is a great studio monitor and computer speaker --if you're on a tight budget. Plenty loud with good balance for my home office. Handles music playing/recording and my 4 string-bass guitar, electric and acoustic electric guitar -- very well. Only con is it struggled with the low b string on my 5-string bass. That's a minor quibble though. If you're on a tight budget get the MR4 or MR3. If you've got a bit of money get something better.

Hi, I was wondering if the volume knob on the front is “stepped”, that is, are there clicks between adjusting the volume, or is the volume knob smooth, with unlimited volume adjustments? Thank you 😊

Got myself MR3. Couldn't be happier with the decision. Thank you.

What interface you have?
You need to connect it to a USB interface or a mixer with a USB interface.

Are you telling me this is music you're listening to
Sounds like an electronic snare drum

How does this differ to the MR4s? They look exactly the same
Unfortunately I donated the 4s to charity and now I am unable to compare the two. All the other data is available online.
