not to fragile i have seen a kid survive 13 gunshot wounds. Abdomen was completely ripped up, survived and just needs about 2 years of therapy since one of the dang bullets glanced his spine and his muscles atrophied significantly during recovery.
It will take months to heal. It may be completely healed just by two steroid injections. I had it for years, the first doctor suggested surgery, fortunately I went to another doctor. First injection I felt so much better, one week later a second shot and the problem was completely gone.
I had this surgery a few years ago. When i started working on construction zones, the force on my hand was too much and after a while i couldn't move my finger back after bending. Also when i lifted weights it was a problem. For i think 3 years i always thought it would heal but instead it got bad more and more. The surgery was half an hour and i was awake the whole time. In the end the doctors asked me to bend my finger and my head told me it wasn't bending because of the barrier i had every day. But there was no barrier anymore and the doctors told me it is fine and i should watch (i did not want to watch them cutting my hand open). When i saw it the first time, i was able to move my finger completely open and back without any problem, it felt like a dream, it felt like magic. Modern medicine is insanely good
What he didn't tell you is that it can be quite painful. And it is often caused not only by swelling but also by scar tissue present from a previous injury. Yes, you can fix Trigger finger. I discussed this with a VA orthopedic surgeon. He recommended against it because you can go in and clean out the scar tissue and make some incisions, but in his experience most individuals develop a new set of scar tissue from the surgery which eventually leads to the same problem. An imperfect solution. Aggressive occupational therapy combined with aggressive deep tissue massage of the affected limb yields better results, especially when dealing with the comorbidity of CRPS. It will be painful, but is better for you in the long run.
I’ve had the surgery on 7 of my 10 digits. It’s very painful but, every time the finger got stuck it was painful too. It’s still sore 4 years later but it’s nowhere near what it was. As a guitar player, I needed it done or I would mess up because of my fingers locking. And one thumb. That one was the worst one, the thumb!
I hv resolved my trigger thumb and trigger finger by exercises..dip ur hand in hot water n do hand exercises..also dip ur finger in deep mug of hot water and just take the Steam on affected finger..it works really well..also it may have some connection with weight loss and 16 hr fasting..not sure but it worked on me...
My dad had this condition before. He tied his thumb to a popsicle stick just to keep it straight when he's sleeping but it snaps back and breaks the popsicle stick. He replaces it with a metal one and it cured him after a few months
Actually there's a painful yet effective and fast way take a pen and rub it hard on the place of the palm of the finger yes it is very pain but NO PAIN NO GAIN
our mechanics professor literally opened his module by saying and explaining to us that humans and biology in general are all mechanical and that his research is into the mechanics of biology.
Right, we’re basically robotic flesh bags 😅 Only difference is robots run on Li Ion batteries and we have mitochondriae, aka the powerhouse of the cell!!
I've had a trigger thumb for several years. I was a goalkeeper (football, or soccer for you Americans out there), and often after training I had a sore thumb on my right hand (plus I write with the same hand, so the problem also occurred when I wrote too much). At first my treatment was ice and rest, but after years of constant problems (and months of skipped practice due to this), I decided to consult a specialist (since my family doctor couldn't help me). Thank God he recognized the problem immediately, and he explained that it would've been solved with "a small cut to be made on the ring that covers the tendon". Needless to say, I didn't understand what he was talking about. Two months forward, a week post-operation, I was already moving my thumb normally. Now I'm 22 years old, I'm no longer a goalkeeper, but I never understood what all of that was about, until now. So thank you with all my heart❤
I think I have the same issue here, one day I just woke up with it. It's quite annoying when I'm playing guitar with it, and especially boxing. punching with this condition hurts badly.
I might have the same thing. The upper bend of my thumb (toward the finger nail) doesn't like to bend when I try to move it sometimes. I have to force it with a snap, and afterward it makes smaller snapping noises (or simply silence with the feeling of a small snapping) and doesn't quite move smoothly, but it actually moves back and forth again without as much effort
I had this problem for several months in the ring finger of my left hand. I did not see a doctor. I did a 5 day fast drinking only lemon water, taking NAC, electrolytes and vitamins. It cured the problem by the fourth day. Reduce the inflammation and it may solve the problem. It's worth a try before you get surgery. It's been gone for three years now.
There we go finally a comment to fix the problem without something involving surgery. Thank you so much i actually get this very rarely and never knew what it was but i always thought it was because i am dehydrated or there is an imbalance somewhere in my health.
I had at the midle finger,i got three injecttion frm docter n the finger, after 4fays,get back normal again my finger....so after 6month the problem back again.x.any suggestion..?

I also wonder if it has a medical name or is a medical condition.

I remember having this,it was so annoying waking up and having to snap my finger back straight. Thank goodness the needle they injected in my palm helped me heal
@Gladius OFFICIAL yes and no. I have no pain in my joint anymore but I don't have the strength I used too. But I'm glad I had the surgery because the pain was awful. In time I'll get back my strength. Or not. I don't hurt so im happy.😊
This video left me with a lot of questions: What happens after the incision? Is there a way to stop the actual swelling of the tendon? Does cutting the tendon sheath relieve some pressure that helps with tendon inflammation? Or is reducing the actual tendon swelling a different issue? Does the tendon sheath heal properly afterwards? And if so, what happens if tendon swelling hasn't stopped by the time the sheath heals? Would the sheath need to be cut again? Does the tendon sheath even heal at all? Or is there just a permanent incision in that tendon sheath now? Didn't think I'd be so curious about trigger finger, the algorithm is weird.
Inflammation stops when you stop doing repetitive motions that cause it. I've had this condition after mudding walls with joint compound for a week straight. Stopped the work, trigger finger was gone.
It comes from a lack of proper nutrition and over exertion. It can happen in other places on your body too. No need for this surgery, just take some time to heal and you'll be stronger & have more endurance next time.
@@Paid2Win that’s not always true. I have it in 3 fingers and I have no nutritional deficiencies. However, I do agree with the idea of resting it for a long period of time. Mine 2 of my fingers went away after 3 months of Covid lockdown.
There's a sheath, or a little circle, that surrounds the tendons of each finger at the first joint. Inflammation causes that little circle to swell and become rigid instead of flexible. After the doctor makes the small incision, he just clips that little sheath which allows the tendons to Glide smoothly said that the finger can flex and straighten normally. It's a little sore afterward, but nothing major. And the doc will recommend you Simply Massage that incision area once it heals to kind of help everything settle down and stay loose. The procedure is done in the office. The whole thing was over in about 10 minutes.
Back when I was on crutches for 7 weeks, I got this in a couple fingers, especially left ring finger. I tried basically everything I should short of surgery, the only things that worked were taping pencils to my fingers so they didn't lock up at night (which would take a couple hours to get loose), and time after I got off the crutches permanently
Ive only just had this happen to me last year 2023.. But im old and worn-out and nearly ready for a box. So i don't think ill worry about getting it fixed. Take care everyone ❤️
Dude this surgery is a life saver!!! (Or at least a job saver). I was so frustrated when I began to develop trigger finger, eventually winding going days at a time with out opening my hand. Surgery was quick, recovery smooth, and 6 years later no issues and full mobility.
The pop you feel when moving it back really hurts, it can be caused by many things but for me i hold a power hose for like 8 hours daily and the constant movement and the way i work has made this occur to me, im only 18 and my fingers pop and im contantly in pain, definitely need this done
Yup. My mom had to have this done and it really helped. I'm starting to develop one in my left hand and it hurts so badly. Amazing how one little problem can cause so much pain.
@@Δ-Δ-Δ-Δ Well, my mom has a really high pain tolerance to the point where she can go through a major surgery and have little to no pain, but it didn't really hurt her much except for the first couple of days. Obviously it was sore, and she had to do a couple of exercises to make sure it didn't heal improperly, but overall it didn't much hurt her, no more than you'd think a surgery like that would. It's a small incision but in a pretty important place, so you'd just need to plan ahead if you use that hand a lot. But it definitely helped her trigger finger and she hasn't had any problems since.
@@Δ-Δ-Δ-Δ Ah! sorry, I thought you meant the surgery. It hurts pretty bad, according to my mom, especially when it gets "stuck". I've been developing one, and it's sort of like a stinging sensation that goes all the way up your finger, into your hand, and all the way up to your shoulder.

There is no need for surgery in many cases. I’ve cured a trigger finger on three different fingers without a doctor or surgery. I made a sleeve out of card stock and scotch tape that my finger would just slide into. I wore this sleeve on my finger at night for 3 to 4 months and My trigger finger went away and stayed away. I have had three different trigger fingers and I cured them all this way. It’s been over ten years and they haven’t returned.
I once blocked a hockey puck right on the joint, and it swelled up pretty bad, but I was told that the pulley wasn’t super important, and the likelihood of permanent damage was quite low, and I should just rest it for a few days to a week, and it is back to normal, glad I did t have to have the surgery, but it doesn’t seem like it would be that much more fan change to daily life
I have this and I had no idea what the term was, I thought I just moved my fingers to much to the point they would sometimes lock into place as I tried bending them a certain way 💀
I used to have this on my left thumb it would lock and i would need to take my right hand and bend it back untill it goes back to normal fortunately it went normal over time and doesnt do that anymore and im happy about that cuz i was planning having the surgery but now i dont have to. Edit: i forgot to add that it would usually happen when i sleep but also if i bend it too far
@@jacquelinedc2812 idk i just left it and it went away overtime however when i did bend it back if i bent it again it would lock much easier usually i would have to bend it fully but then i would bent it slightly and it would lock.. time wise i had it since i was like 3 i think? I am 13 now so about 10 years for it to stop yet i still feel uncomfortable bending it too far knowing it may or may not lock but i pushed it to its limits by bending it all sorts of ways and it didnt lock so i guess that a pass 😅

This video left me with a lot of questions:
What happens after the incision?

My uncle had this, It was very painful but he made a very simple operation and everything was fine later
Yup. My mom had to have this done and it really helped. I'm starting to develop one in my left hand and it hurts so badly. Amazing how one little problem can cause so much pain.
@@lizzieandmocha1131 How much does it hurt?
@@Δ-Δ-Δ-Δ Well, my mom has a really high pain tolerance to the point where she can go through a major surgery and have little to no pain, but it didn't really hurt her much except for the first couple of days. Obviously it was sore, and she had to do a couple of exercises to make sure it didn't heal improperly, but overall it didn't much hurt her, no more than you'd think a surgery like that would. It's a small incision but in a pretty important place, so you'd just need to plan ahead if you use that hand a lot. But it definitely helped her trigger finger and she hasn't had any problems since.
@@lizzieandmocha1131 All right, but I meant "How much does it hurt?" pertaining to the inflamation itself.
The thingy portrayed in the video.

If you press against your wrist where the finger trigger located, your finger will move by itself which I find it interesting.

Where?
I guess it triggers the movement.

Same but it rarely happens to me and when im slicing only
I used to have this on my left thumb it would lock and i would need to take my right hand and bend it back untill it goes back to normal fortunately it went normal over time and doesnt do that anymore and im happy about that cuz i was planning having the surgery but now i dont have to. Edit: i forgot to add that it would usually happen when i sleep but also if i bend it too far

I am 13 now so about 10 years for it to stop yet i still feel uncomfortable bending it too far knowing it may or may not lock but i pushed it to its limits by bending it all sorts of ways and it didnt lock so i guess that a pass 😅
