The thing I love about Cello is that it sounds exactly the same live or in a recording studio, it doesn't need to be edited, because it already sounds amazing.
I'm a bit of a metal head, but I am also a jazz/classical/contemporary trombone player, and Apocalyptica is the best of both worlds. The expressiveness and technique of classical cello, plus the awesomeness of modern metal.

Its not a competitor on Metallica, its a nice way of being diffrent and i love em for showing me M's songs can be played on otherwise marginal instruments. Very original and very cool!
What I love about them is they get all the little nuances of Metallica into the songs...but they can lay down some serious emotion with their versions. Like someone mentioned b4,it would be incredible if both bands could play together. If they did already,I dont know about it.

@Subliminallll perhaps but Apocalyptica isnt the whole orchestra experience but it woulda been cool to have them as a third part to help bring out the strings!
really love to see preformers love the music they are playing!!!!!! Since I found this I promise I will never listen to another "Metallica" song unless Apocalyptica is playing it!!!!
I think what they did with the Covering metallica songs is wonderfull,, it's always nice to see other GOOD variations of very good songs, Like those of Metallica. very well preformed tbh. :)
Apocalyptica - plays Metallica by four Cellos, Inquisition Symphony and one or two more that I forgot their name.... But they are ROCK!!! both, Metallica and Apocalyptica \m/
Most of the time they keep to G and C strings, and I don't think they take as much resin off as the A and D strings do, because A and D is way thinner.

This is possibly one their best cover choices. It's a more melodic song than a lot of their other Metallica covers... I think it works very well.
