Welcome back Elliot. Hey Lauren. I also thought ep 1-2 were a bit slow. However, they did need to provide exposition in the way they did.

The Tam / Rand forest stuff was clearly filmed and then cut for time, such a shame I agree
BUT I will say she should watch episodes 2&3 as we did when it was released to get the full effect!
One of my favourite scenes from the first few chapters. Definitely aligns the audience with Rand

Oh my God i LOVE your friend. She is correct. The Steppin stuff was where it broke the worst.
I think it was all well written and acted, just too much screen time dedicated to exposition about the warder bond, in a series where every minute is precious
@@ElliotEdits Well, you're far more generous than me but each to their own :-) None of it was necessary, even within the context of their own show - they contrived an event to show the warder bond effect.. then turned it into a soap opera. If you had to have steppin, at least make him go berserk properly and be true to how the bond is supposed to work lol. He should have died with those stupid axes in hand and a snarl on his face.
The sad part is Jazz won't see the best episodes from S1 or S2 if she keeps stopping halfway through!
Also when are you coming back over to our side of the pond? Def missed you at WoTCon
I do think she'd like the Seanchan storylines if she continued watching
The fomo was very real this side of the pond I can tell you 😂 Just started a new job so the timing hasn't been great, but do plan to attend another WoTCon as soon as possible! Are you coming to MalkieriCon?
@@ElliotEdits Sadly it's not in the cards for this year. We have a conflicting trip to Korea around the same time. I hope I can make it next year though! Congratulations on the new job!

Mat and Perrin really suffered in season one because of the “who is the dragon?” mystery. In season two Perrin got some development but Mat get nothing. His storyline in season two doesn’t really work.
I feel particularly bad for Perrin's character, because he's got such amazing storylines coming up in season 3

I was really hoping season 2 would be an improvement, but sadly it fell very short! Glad to see your content again cheers!
I still think it was a big improvement, but watching one episode on its own did make me think the first few episodes were definitely written to be binged. On their own, they feel incomplete
I felt the same way. I loved the beginning of S1 and HATED episode 5 and 6. Gosh I was so disappointed. Episode 7 was ok, but then we got episode 8. I wasn't hyped for season 8 at all. I am happy that they did better with season 2 although the weakest bits are those that are not in the books (the Moraine without powers drivel).
Still bummed they take away all of Rand's awesome moments (no fights, no OP power displays etc.), but S2 was much better than S1. They fleshed out Liadrin better than she was in the books and let's face it, they nailed Lanfear.
I am very curious what they will do in S3! As long as Rand doesn't get stiffed... again.
The show is getting better with every season! Especially now we're getting into the best books!
