Each and every one of them is a first-class professional, there is a wealth of knowledge and expertise there, it is wonderful to see how they do it all. Greetings from The Netherlands.
A couple of engineering marvels performed there Darryl, The barrel would only be a coupla inches out at a thousand meters if that lol ..... close enough, well within tolerance 😉
What an excellent episode. I love Daz's attention to detail and the effort he puts into these small parts. He and Jess did an amazing job on the barrel. I've got to get to Oz and visit the Museum to see this stuff in the flesh. In the meantime I can't wait for the next episode. Please keep up the great work team.
Great work, lads! In my opinion, there's no need to speed up the footage, it's plenty fun to watch at normal speed. It's not boring or redundant, just some good old shop work.
Some nice cosmetic recovery going on there 👍 Can’t help thinking, those parts wouldn’t look out of place on a wrecked turret to show the ravages of war. It’s nice having the good looks, but sometimes the horror needs to be displayed to give it all context? Maybe the museum already has such displays?
4:52 protip removing the scale and rust will help with heating the part faster. Like carbonized surfaces (like a piece of charred bread), heat won't go as fast into the part if it's covered in rust. A simple experiment is to take a slice of bread, char it on both sides and then point the flame at the center, you could (don't do it) put your hand right next to the bread, holding it into your hand, it will not burn. You wouldn't think that such a small layer would impede heat transfer, but it does.
I have seen people anneal anvils checking it with a magnet to see if it no longer attracts. Is that something you could use on armour plating on heated sections prepped for welding?? Thanks for the ongoing updates.🙂
As much as I love my workshop wednesdays, and watching daz do his magic I do wonder how his hearing will be after all that grinding without ear protection all day. I have real bad tinnitus so I maybe more senstive to watching others in loud environments without ear protection than others.
With so much rusty metal have you thought of getting a laser rust remover? Expensive but so is peoples time and effort as well as leaving as much original metal as possible. Cheers
I kinda think you should have at least one display that is of unrestored blown-up pieces of something common, just loosely held in the general shape it once was by a framework, to show the kind of things you often start with! A banana'd barrel is better than none! (especially when it just needs to look decent!) Good job bending it back!
Heh. If it had been me, I would have left the cover blown up and the barrel bent, and hung a sign that looked like it was written in chalk on the barrel that said "OUCH!"
Qld, perfect one day underwater the next. The chippie is getting very handy around heavy steel. All these busted parts,, scratch and dent sale at Eastern Front Tank parts That big press is worth its weight in cocky shit!!. I feel disadvantaged mine is only 20 ton!
How're you lads coping with the "flooding rains" up there in Cairns? 🤨Haven't heard of too much flooding your way, but that may just be because the flooding's worse elsewhere.
i think it would have been better to left the sight hatch with the bend and broken corner to show the destruction of war and the tools man made to destroy their enemies.

Daz’s skill level? Magician! Loved the attention to detail, finishing the cut edges of that patch with the needle gun to add patina. Wicked 🎉

Considering that a slightly derogatory term for a Queenslander is "Banana Bender", it's good to see that you also have skills in unbending as well.
Pretty confident the Germans who manufactured that Panzer II turret never thought it would end up on that back of a Triton Ute!
To be fair, I don´t think the manufacturers of the TRITON could imagine a panzer II turret on the back of their wehicle either... 😄
Well they made Zero’s so not so far fetched
I love starting my wednesdays watching you boys at work, it's an inspirational way to start the day 👍 Cracking work as always chaps.
A couple of engineering marvels performed there Darryl,
The barrel would only be a coupla inches out at a thousand meters if that lol ..... close enough, well within tolerance 😉
BRILLIANT stuff - Always makes me smile watching these lads at work.
Daz the magician " not too bad" Brilliant👍
Great watching Darrel at work. A real engineer for sure.
Yeh, not bad for a former chippie!
@@samrodian919 absolutely 😊
Rain? You mean that isn't weathering for your 1:1 scale project :P Kidding aside both the hatch repair and barrel straightening were brilliantly done!
You guys do a very good job. Iam each wednesday here and watch over your shoulder - its never boring. Best regards from germany
That barrel is for shooting around corners! Darrel's got a great eye
Glad to see you guys haven’t floated away just yet.
Gosh these videos are so good. Really enjoy seeing these projects from salvage to completion. Keep it up!!

That rain is almost louder than the daryls grinder!
Hug flooding event up that way. Even a bridge was undermined and cut in 2 .
Absolute magic with the press!
Reckon Daz could use that press to shell eggs!
Great work, lads! In my opinion, there's no need to speed up the footage, it's plenty fun to watch at normal speed. It's not boring or redundant, just some good old shop work.
Between all world restorations of old batle steel, You Gentelman's are absolutly TOP ONE. THank's for now , and waiting for another.👌🤟👍
Outstanding video and work done by Darrel
You all are amazing! What a talented team of superb craftsmen! Not only the metal restoration but the video shoots and edits! Well done!
Thanks for the explanations as you work--the best classroom. It's great fun watching objects succumb to the plan.
Two lovely repairs, thanks for sharing
Amazing job straightening that gun barrel!
I had my doubts on that barrel, but I have to admit it looks good!
Remember Everyone, Make sure you cook your Panzer 2c vision ports on both sides for a nice even finish and texture!
Great work guys!
fantastic heat n bending. amazing results 👍
Good on yah, Daz.
Amazing work as ALWAYS!
As always excellent work great to watch
Onya dazza and all the boys make this a great page to be addicted to. I could only see me sausaging it lol. Supreme Wizardry Darryl !!
Bonjour 👋 de France
Je suis comme un gosse qui attend le mercredi pour voir les super travaux que vous effectuez .
Bien cordialement
Great job straightening that barrel 🌟👍🌟
Thanks AAAM. =)

Thats close enough not to grumble... good one :)
Can't wait to see her finished
Cant wait for part 2 .. enjoyed watching Darel work his magic
It is always great to see what talent and experience can do. Another amazing job........😎
Awesome boys 👍🇦🇺
Excellent hearing protection
Great work and skills 👍
Great job guys.
Barrel looks pretty good honestly
great work guys
Well done
Thanks :)
I love these episodes, they're always a great watch but I can't believe no ear muffs are being worn! Grinders etc are so loud!

I believe I heard, "We are trying to keep the patina." I translate that to mean. Leave the rust.
12:22...Daryl looks like a little boy who has brought home a report card with all A's and B's! 😊
Good onya A neat trick barrel straightening - definitely worth 10 points Darrel..
cool stuf

My weekly tank restoration fix - Great work. Would love to see a Panzer Farm Follow up on the tiger tank engine / parts build
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Interesante 😊😊❤ skvělá práce ahoj Martas🦾🦾🦾🇨🇿
Daz is an absolute Champion!!! Luv his work and attitude!. In a few years he might even be better than Al haha!. good stuff Boys!.
14:00 "And that, my liege, is how we know the earth to be banana-shaped."
10:21 Someone needs to set this to music 🕺😂
Wish there were five WWs in a week ;-)
I must confess I love my angle grinders - one of the most underrated tools in the toolbox…. Now where do I put a 300lb press ????
I dont recall you showing any sandblasting...but given all the historicity I for one would be touched to see the process...patina baby!
skill!
Another fascinating video, Daryl should have his own series of videos. How's the Stug. III coming along?
Great stuff! Just wondering, how did Daryl get started at the museum?
Maybe have all the guys do that for an episode!
As much as I love my workshop wednesdays, and watching daz do his magic I do wonder how his hearing will be after all that grinding without ear protection all day. I have real bad tinnitus so I maybe more senstive to watching others in loud environments without ear protection than others.
Pardon ?
Was that not a late war 20mm barrel for shooting round corners?😊
👍😎
Love the content! Great work guys! However I wonder aren’t Darrel’s ear ringing at the end of the day?
So that's how MIG shrouds get that way.
With so much rusty metal have you thought of getting a laser rust remover? Expensive but so is peoples time and effort as well as leaving as much original metal as possible. Cheers
What hours do they work the workshop team work ?
Magic efforts there
11:30 Bluetooth hearing protection, managed to find the on button at 12:00 !
Don't forget the Stug

Always awesome to watch, they wouldn’t be australian if they worked in jean shorts.
Darryl’s steel cap flip flops proved their worth around 5 mins in. Phew.
What are the next 3 or 4 on the list to fix? Wespe...then ? Is there an end?
i misheard "wespe" and thought you had one of those anit-tank vespas to restore
12:37 That's not sandy-brown, it's khaki-olive.
When is the test firing?
Some day, the boys will decide Bob Semple needs to be outdone, and then we march on the emus once again

Guten Morgen aus Berlin.
2:16, the old plate is not so happy, if i see his face ---> 😐. Probably because he is a bit bent.
Regards from the Battle of the Bulge area
Skill? Daz had another shave??? Might be the key!
How're you lads coping with the "flooding rains" up there in Cairns? 🤨Haven't heard of too much flooding your way, but that may just be because the flooding's worse elsewhere.
I think that barrel is a banana barrel for shooting around corners 😂😂😂
The barrel straightener was a gas
Paublo Daryl Picasso
but the broken edge adds character
i think it would have been better to left the sight hatch with the bend and broken corner to show the destruction of war and the tools man made to destroy their enemies.
Maar slimme mannen gebruiken het wel. Zeker in zo een werkplaats. Het zal ook wel verplicht zijn, daar.
Ruff
Why didnt you use a string line from centre to centre to give you better idea of straight? 😅
