This Pennsylvania long rifle is made in Spain by Ardesa, and marketed in USA by Traditions. Is a good rifle, now with a reliable lock. Bery good rifle for the price. Saludos desde España.
I like it. You can't beat an L&R lock, in my opinion, and you've just shown that a flintlock can be a dependable shooter, given the fellow shooting it knows what he's doing. I just never could get used to the flash in the pan. I'll flinch every time. Overall looks of the rifle reminds me of some of the rifles made in the Carolina Piedmont the first half of the 1800s. I like it.
I never notice the flash. i do, however, tend to flinch occasionally with the slight delay between flash and boom. I love this gun even though it’s more of a budget gun. For me, it shoots much better than my flintlock lyman gpr. Thanks for the kind words and for watching!!!!
@@hillbillyhomestead3519 yes sir. I've put together several rifles from stock blanks and good parts, mainly plains style Lemans full stocks with the L&R locks and green mountain 36 inch barrels in 7 eighths 50 and 15 sixteenth 54 caliber. But I've now picked up an L&R maslin style flint lock, 42 inch 7 eighths barrel and Tennessee style stock. I'm gonna go flint. I'm also mooning over that new woodsrunner kit that's come out recently. 54 caliber. Lord help me. Good hunting to you, sir.
I ordered one Friday. I couldn't find a 41" barrel so I settled for the 33.5" barrel. I have a trapper, Kentucky pistols and a Shenandoah rifle all in 50s. But the Pennsylvania is my first flintlock. I have had zero issues with my Traditions firearms and I can't wait for my new rifle to show up. Good video. I believe that one you have is a 41" barrel.
Square patches shoot just the same as round ones . It doesn't hurt the accuracy at all . Those that live back in the day , hardly ever used ball starters . In fact they were only used on smoothbore . That more of a modern thing for rifle . They wouldn't use tight patches , just snug enough to give it a spin, and set the ball . Another thing that always gets me is after setting the ball , throwing the rod down the barrel and making it jump . Tap it a couple times and pull the rod out .
Awesome presentation I have a cap lock shoot and a Kimbler flint lock 36 competition
And seems fast for flintlock like my kimbler
L&R replacement locks really are a great investment.
