I've been really really enjoying your content, Joe. I was someone who followed the game closely as a teenager from 2007 to early before getting back into the game in 2018. It's cool to see all the formats that I missed. I just bought a plant tengu deck to play with some friends. Might have to look into dino rabbit now too. Keep up the great work!
Would have killed for content like this back in the day! Hearing your decision making would have been so helpful cause I was so bad back then lol. I suppose to articles were a good substitute xD
Drink every time Joe says "Threaten". It's interesting though because it highlights how the traps in this format get used in a preventative way anticipating what the opponent can do/summon, rather than as a reaction to what they've just done. That made sense in my head, idk if I explained it properly.
@@YGOHistory This format through REDU and YCS Toronto 2012 were some of my favorites. Can't wait to hear you talking over some Hero Beat like the good ol days
Any plans on making a video about Demise OTK or even Cyber Stein OTK? I'm kinda curious about the extreme measures people had to take back in those days (maindecking Kuriboh etc.)
Inzektors topped plenty before/after priority - so I believe the answer has to be yes. I feel like Hieratic was inferior to other "big monster/low trap" decks like Chaos Dragons.
@@YGOHistory and do you think that ladybugs should be played over hopper, cause it wasn't legal yet when billy brake topped. And I don't even know if 2 swords is correct(maybe 3)
I was never a fan of Pot of Avarice in this deck. I never used it when I mained Macro - and always felt the early dead draw was not worth it. In terms of Chalice, I just wanted to reimagine my old strategies versus Dino-Rabbit. My win rate versus Rabbit was only so-so in 2012.
"but if you've never played this format, you obviously get the lower ATK monster" at about 14:50 - I never played this format (I may have played 4-5 matches on DuelingNetwork to mess around with Hieratics, but nothing serious), and it wasn't obvious to me. Is the idea that since you know you're going to XYZ summon, you want to keep the higher ATK ones in the deck for later for the small chance that you could rip it off the top later for a normal summon to get over something in a topdeck war? Great vid as always. BLS continues to be a good card. And if other people are asking for decks to go in your queue and you're looking for more, I've always been partial to either the Chimeratech OTK circa 2007 SJ Orlando or Gadgets with Shrink circa summer 2007 (I also dig Lightsworns, but beggars can't be choosers :D ).
Exactly. Assuming you draw no normal monsters - you go double 1700. If you DID draw the 1900 - then you want to take them OUT of the deck in case you draw a 2nd and lose out on a Rabbit effect. Additionally, 2400 (Laggia) + 1800 (Leviair) + 1900 + 1900 = 8000 Rabbit + Tour Guide sets up 8K damage if you leave the 1900s for the second Rabbit
I still talk to Paul. I do not regularly talk to many of the old ARG writers - but I bet we could see each other tomorrow and pick right back up where things left off.
Not gonna lie obviously joe is goated and there's no debating that but I feel like sometimes he over thinks too much instead of just going for the obvious play
This was one of my top 3 formats for sure
This is the best content on UA-cam.. Iv asked for years for content like this... so happy there’s a channel dedicated to this
Wow. That is incredibly kind. I definitely appreciate it.

Dino-Rabbit was my favorite deck during the summer of 2012 - but I will be profiling the others soon!
This is my favourite yugioh content on youtube
I've been watching a lot of your videos. Now my friends and I are building some decks to have fun :D keep going
lets GOOOOOO the king joe with the rabbit deck
love this!!!
the goat! make some retro deck profiles bro we bringing it back!

When the top 3 was inzektors,wind-ups, and rescue rabbit oh man such a fun time to play!
Please do an episode chaos dragons. Loved that deck back in the day
Definitely on the list!
def loved chaos dragons back then specially with future fusion lol.

Trap cards are always format dependent. Sequencing your backrows is VERY important in a format like this.
Yessss this is what the people want 🙏
I hope!

👁️👄👁️ oh shit I missed the video last week

Meaning in a profile.

Both! People more so sided Kuriboh but I will talk about that.
Do you think that hieratic and inzektors had a chance to compete vs the meta of that time post priority

6:39 when your draw is so good you forget your train of thought
*You're a wizard, Joey.*
i would love love love if you talked about some version of DDT. its one of my favorite decks.
Once I get Magical Stones - for sure. I have a match vs. DAD DDT recorded and on the way.
@@YGOHistory DDT is insane, I struggle against it in the DAD vs DDT match. I would be extremely interested to see your thought process there
@@Promin3nce I plan on uploading it Friday. It was actually an interesting sided match.
@@YGOHistory looking forward to it 👍
ayeee based loli! miss that dude from locals love the format! thanks for the video
Thank you for watching! Alex is awesome.
Why did you not main pot of avarice and not side deck forbidden chalice?

Yup.
