I was checking into tour guides and things to do because I entered a contest at my company to win a free, expense paid trip to Japan for 2. I saw your channel, and videos and checked out all your itineraries, I was really excited. Sadly, I didn't win.. The boss's daughter _won the tickets..._ strange, I know... (can we say nepotism?) Everyone groaned.. He got several hours of "volunteering and helping out" out of me, and I got nothin lol. But I still want to visit one day. I will be traveling with my husband and 2 preteen kids. Any family-style recommendations?? Any output is widely appreciated. Thanks again for your channel. I have narrowed down many places I would like to see because of your commentary. Well done. Thanks again!!

Such a helpful video!! We are so so excited that Japan is welcoming tourist again and have booked our trip for the spring. Thanks so much for the travel inspo!
Hi Carina! For this trip, we visited the cities over 10 days, but you can definitely do it in 7 days, you just have to cut down some of the attractions listed. You can refer to the 10D itinerary we made here: bit.ly/3cJTz3L
We are going to visit Japan in Dec and Jan. Will most of the shopping mall, theme park will close on 31st Dec and 1st Jan? Any suggestions what we can doing on these 2 days?
H there! I went to Japan back in 2019 for Christmas/New Years time. I would say from my own personal experience a lot of the activities I had planned for were unfortunately closed. A fair amount of places are either closed for an extended duration and/or close early. That being said, I wouldn't worry too much as there are plenty of holiday-esque events usually going on! Shibuya is really fun for counting down the New Year. Yokohama (where Chinatown is) is also a great alternative for fireworks/countdown. I would highly recommend making a trip to a nearby shrine with the locals afterwards. (Note, it can take a few hours b/c it will be packed) but it's something to take part in if you want tradition! Also, while you're still awake after your first shrine visit, might as well stay up and see the first sunrise of the year! (called Hatsu-Hinode) Japan also does something called Fukubukuro (aka lucky bags) from various stores. They're usually exclusive to Japan items so if shopping is your thing, good luck getting some! As mentioned, depending on where you're staying, Japan has a ton of holiday-esque events/activities. I stayed in Tokyo so I went to nearby Tokyo Dome (in Bunkyo City). It's essentially a big outdoor mall area with food, lights and rides! If you want to stay warm inside and just relax then I would suggest staying at a ryokan those days and soaking in the onsens! (Personal favorite cities for onsens are Hakone and Nikko!) Sorry for such a long rant LOL but hope I was able to help a wee bit. Let me know if you'd like any specific ideas/suggestions!
That all depends on where to go & what you really wanna do over there & how you wanna spend your days there !! Lol As well as your budgets ! I highly recommend you to visit in Autumn ,October specifically !! And avoid our notorious summer ! As well as the rainy season ( usually mid Jun to mid July ,but it starts around late May ) DO visit Kamakura , Tokyo ( omotesando ,Ginza ,Meiji.Jingue ,Aoyama,Shibuya ,so on ) ,KYOTO is the best !!! Yamaguchi & Okayama ,you can feel like time slipping as they kept old villages as they were in Samurai's eras !! If you're gonna visit Japan for the very 1st time ,visit Tokyo for 3 days at least ,Osaka for 2 days & Kyoto.for 4 days !! Lol.Hoping you'll be able to go there soon ! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
No problem at all !! So glad that I could help !! Hope you'll have a blast there !! I forgot to tell you not to ride on trains during the rush hrs !! There are perverts on trains during those hours who grabb / touch you in Tokyo !! We call them " HENTAI "&" " CHIKANN" !! Other than that ,it's totally safe ! Lol 😆😅Also ,avoid trains/ subways after 10 as Japanese are notoriously known for binge drinking / puking ( we are lacking of the enzymes in our bodies to break down alcohol ) on trains/ platforms !! Thank you so much for your reply !! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
I would say transportation really depends on where you're staying (e.g., if you plan on visiting multiple areas of Japan or primarily staying in Central Tokyo). If you're planning on hitting up multiple places, (say Tokyo -> Osaka -> Kyoto -> Nagoya, back to Tokyo) most definitely get the JR Pass. It works consecutively for either 7, 14 or 21 days. If you're planning on primarily staying in Central Tokyo and doing more day trips, save your money, don't get the JR Pass. Instead get the subway/bus line tickets as they're valid for 24/48/72 hours and super cheap. It was like 7$ for a 24hr ticket. As for day trips, (like from Tokyo to Hakone) most places have their own specific ticket/ticket booth/train to. In terms of baggage, you can definitely leave it at the hotel or if you're doing more trips, don't plan on booking a hotel for everything place, there are storage lockers at most train stations that will hold your luggage. There are both small and big sizes so it should be able to accommodate. I think prices cost somewhere between 5-15 depending on location. Hope this helps!
All these are like recommended places from years and years and years ago. Not really hippie haha. A few minutes in, I just closed it because it looked like something you would find in an article online.
