This video just saved my butt. I don’t sell Somfy and this job was a takeover. Your video taught me the correct way to reset and program. Thank you so much.

Hi Otto. What a great service you provide. Well I seem to have the same problem as david czech. I just put up my new (used) awning and it came out just fine. But when I was going to retract - it stopped. I left it with my father and when I returned he had rolled it up backwards. He managed to run the motor forward until it retracted the wrong way.Now I realise I have to buy a new motor, but can I retract until the curtain is at place? And why is there no possibility for manually retract the curtain? I worked all day to set it up and now I am sad :-( Please let me know that you have the words!

Hi Soren, thanks and no need for a new motor if all that's the problem is the end limits. In your case, the end limit has been set beyond the limit, which means the arms no longer move, but the motor keeps rolling (and so does the fabric). Good news is that it can be solved. Best way would be to reset the motor and make sure that it rolls in the right direct (arrow down is out, arrow up is in). Then set the limits again. One thing though, it might be that the motor was defective to begin with, as when a motor no longer retracts, it has often losts its powered to overcome the pressure of the arms. BTW, there are only some motors that have a manual override. Somfy calls these CSI motors, but they are rarely used. Hope this helps, otto

Hi Otto, my awning SEEMS to go through the reset procedure correctly EXCEPT that I can not get it to retract using the motor. I can manually retract, and can easily extend and stop with the remote. The light in the remote illuminates when I press the retract button, but the motor does not react at all. Please advise on what else I can do to troubleshoot this. Thank you!

Hi David, when the motor does not make the awning retract, it's often because the motor has lost the power to overcome the force of the arms. This means you can't complete the reset procedure.
It also means that the motor would need to be replaced.
If it's less than 5 years old, it's likely to be under warranty. So then it would be best to contact your installer / supplier for further support.
      Hope this helps,
      Otto

    Dear Motorise friends, good afternoon.
Your videos had beeing very helpfull, but I have not beein able to fix the RTS motor.
I have tried the 3-8-3 rule, several times, but the motor does not jog as it should. Actually it does not do anything even if I press the reset buton on the back.
If a make the 3-8-3 rule and then press the UP and DOWN butons at the same time the motor jogs. Then I push the reset buton but again ....nothing moves.
What am I doing wrong?? What else can I do to solve this issue?
    Please advice.

Hi Will, it could be that the motor has been reset completely already.
Because once reset, it's in its factory settings and will not accept a second reset.
The way to test that is to select a channel on your remote and press up&down at the same time to take control of the motor. Then go through the procedure of setting the motor's end limits. (so basically you follow the steps in this video: ua-cam.com/video/9jmaGn1vs1I/v-deo.html)
From what you are describing, this should solve it.
      All best,
      Otto

That reset procedure on works on 110V Somfy motors, low voltage motors are resets differently..

    Hi Otto,
I need to get rid of some stops that occur when I try to lower the roller after it has reached its upper limit (They only occur when the roller has rolled up above certain height). It seems like the process stayed open and multiple lower limits were set.
I was about to reset my motor to factory settings, but haven't done do so after I heard in this video that this proceeding can be done only once. Does it mean that if anything goes wrong I won't be able to reset the motor again and 'll need to replace the motor? From your other videos I had the idea that resetting was something that could be done to correct any mistakes during the process.
My motor (which resembles a Sonesse 50) has a button on it for programming. I've already been sucessful in linking the remote control and changing its direction by pressing the button on the motor before proceeding with your instructions.
Is there an easier way to get rid of these stops? Thanks for the advise.

I am able to program the shade but can’t close it. When I press the red button on the back after programming it, nothing happens. Now what?

Hi Lisa, which remote do you have?

    Hi,
I have a somfy telis 1 rts on a wirefree solarpack. I am not sure whether I can follow the same procedure on your video though. Basically, only 1 out of my 3 blinds is responsive using the same remote. It is relatively new (set up in July 2015), but hasn't been used during the colder months (living in cold Denmark). Now the sun is back and all of the sudden 2 stopped working. Any advice ?
    Thanks.

+Franchesca Nielsen Hi Franchesca, the reset procedure would be this: ua-cam.com/video/mYG0kW4TFaU/v-deo.html However, I would look at the battery pack first. The batteries are probably not charged or not charged enough to operate the blinds. To check if the batteries are the problem, you could temporarily place non-rechargeable batteries in the wand (without connecting the solar panel) and then see if the blind will work. If it works, the batteries need to be charged more. If that doesn;t work, there's a problem with the motor and cyou could try the reset. Hope this helps.

You guys need to state clearly, that the motor ONLY enters in programming mode (when both up and down arrow are pressed at the same time), if, and only if, the motor is previously run its course a'll the way up or down. So simple, yet omitted by all these videos !

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  8 років тому +2

No, that's not a necessity at all. Straight out of the box, all you need it to press up and down. It's not possible for the motor to have run its course if it's brand new. It only enters the programming mode if it's in the factory setting (either by default or a proper reset), that's it. No other prerequisites.

I want to turn off the wind and sun sensor. I’ve tried multiple things. Nothing works. Can someone help

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  5 років тому

You can't turn off a windsensor, it needs to be removed from the motor's memory. You can see here how that's done: ua-cam.com/video/V09kV1L31Q0/v-deo.html
