Well, I didn’t talk them into it. They didn’t talk to me for 1 year. After that everyone was on board, when I say everyone. Everyone wanting to meet my husband! My brother and sister aren’t married yet but my parents are okay with whoever they want to get married too. Which is awesome! Because there are a lot of old school guju parents that will not allow it still

The surname Patel means village cheif and is popular in the western region of India - inparticularly Gujarat.
There are many different types of Patels including Muslim Patels, however most are Hindu. As Patels move into the 21st century many are Atheist, Agnostic and also Jedi lol!
Unlike the west, in India many people took on ''titles'' rather than surnames thefore 80% of Patels held onto this title which now comes across as a surname. A Patels real surname is related to their Paternal village. Within the Hindu Patel communitiy there are dozens of different types including Leuva Patel, Kadva Patel Anjana Chaudhary Patel and many more. This further gets confusing as they are split by region too; Kutchi Patel, Kathiawadi Patel, Surti Patel
