Love the livery on the Delta 727 @6:37. It's a much more professional, and classy, look than what's on their jets now (imo). And Delta was the airline I got to enjoy my only 727 flight in 1987. 😎 ✈️
What's incredible to me. Is how this was shot in 1993. And the quality of the footage looks like it's from the 60's. Boy how time flies pardon the pun...(g)
Normally, I don't like watching landings but in this video, you get an appreciation for how fast they're moving when they come in and it's awesome .!!! 😄
Amazing watching the classic 727’s and some 707’s taking off and landing, always cool to see some 747’s too especially United’s 747SP in the battleship grey color scheme
You mean DC9s. They operated to meet the Iberia flight from Madrid to MIA as they had a licence to operate from there to Hispanic Central and South America with transfer pax. Air France did the same with A319s. They flew to French governed Islands in the Caribbean from MIA.
You do wonder what might have been among the cargo, but *not* included in the manifests, of some of those cargo aircraft from Central and South America... 😒🤫
What were the Iberia DC-9's doing in Miami? Couldn't have been flying to Spain. Didn't think foreign airlines were allowed to fly domestic routes in the U.S.

Respect. Thank you 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome job :) one thing I noticed is that’s an SAA 747-400 at 57:16 not a 747-300. It flew JNB-CPT-MIA (about 14 hour segment between CPT and MIA)
what a classic. That united 747sp takeoff was beautiful, you can really hear those jt9ds screaming in the rain
Glad you enjoyed it, thank yoU!
The United one ?
55:15
It literally doesn’t get any better than an AA chrome 727

747 Aerolíneas Argentinas ♥️♥️♥️ the most beautiful liverie
I love these old film reels of MIA action, thank you for a great upload! I guess the only survivors from this footage are a few B757s, B767s and A300s, now flying as converted freighters. How times change, eh?
Very welcome and yes you're probably right.. maybe a few others flying in Africa or South America but most is gone unfortunately.
Delta still has B757s and B767s
How about the 737s
Love the livery on the Delta 727 @6:37. It's a much more professional, and classy, look than what's on their jets now (imo). And Delta was the airline I got to enjoy my only 727 flight in 1987. 😎 ✈️
What's incredible to me. Is how this was shot in 1993. And the quality of the footage looks like it's from the 60's. Boy how time flies pardon the pun...(g)
Normally, I don't like watching landings but in this video, you get an appreciation for how fast they're moving when they come in and it's awesome .!!! 😄
Could watch this all day… what an incredible and historical planespotting video, the good ol’ days are well and truly behind us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing watching the classic 727’s and some 707’s taking off and landing, always cool to see some 747’s too especially United’s 747SP in the battleship grey color scheme
Ahh those times when airplane still vary, not just 737s and a320s
Ahi sale mi querida AVIATECA.. que recuerdos!
Nothing but a Super Upload. Thnks!
I used to get these for Christmas on VHS. I probably had 15. Crazy that it's all on youtube now.
Very cool content love old aircrafts
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
What were those Iberia DC8s doing in MIA ??? 😮
DC-9s
Idk
Maybe operating on a lease, like how Norwegian used to operate their 737's down in the caribbean in the off-season.
Iberia had a mini focus city in Miami in the 90s flying to Spanish Islands in the caribbean with the DC9.
You mean DC9s. They operated to meet the Iberia flight from Madrid to MIA as they had a licence to operate from there to Hispanic Central and South America with transfer pax. Air France did the same with A319s. They flew to French governed Islands in the Caribbean from MIA.
Why are there Iberia DC-9's doing at Miami at this time? This is so cool to see. I was 13 in 1993.
The old American livery sure did stand out amongst the rest.
11:22 Mexicana Fokker 100 😃
😻
44:35 Beautiful MD-80 Aeromexico
Hermoso
Wonderful footage! Which airline did the Dash 7 belong to??
12:14 Varig DC10 🥺🥺
That Classic DC-10 of VARIG 12:15 💕💕
57:23 Air Canada a320 in the cool 80s livery
It's been a while since we've had a video this old!
Will try to do some more of those.
That Aerolíneas Argentinas livery ❤❤❤
wow! cool!
4:09 That's the old Delta maintenance hangar behind the 727.
35:23 If its D-ABUD, then she was in activ servich for Condor only days before this video was released.
56:07 That Vasp MD-11, I think it was the only one I saw.
Oh those were the days and a lot noisier ❤❤
@RunwayAction Will we ever see a full-length episode from Portland? There's a shortened version that dates from 1997! 😊
25:55 The beautiful double A... 💔
It's so cool. How airplanes have changed lol please like😂❤
Wow, 2 Iberia DC-9s at Miami? 9:17
Which airline is the operator of the DHC-7? Can’t quite make it out
I believe it was Paradise Island Airways from the Bahamas
The year I was born 💕
Ahhh...The classic 737 United Airways
filmed from corrosion corner?
AA 757 with the classic livery and no winglets is awesome. AA's livery is terrible now and winglets scar many planes.
Back when flying was still fun, exciting and Boeing still made beautiful, state of the art and SAFE jets.😕
5:35
Is that a 747 200
Why Iberia have DC9s and MD80s in Miami?? Im from Spain and I want know of this
43:32 SAETA 🇪🇨😢
What were Iberia DC-9s doing at MIA??
old reply, but back then iberia had a contract due to spain and us relationships, so they made a hub in miami to connect with central america
Avensa y Zuliana 🇻🇪🇻🇪💛💙❤️
Why were there Iberia narrow bodies at MIA in 1993?
Fly to Cuba
Iberia used to fly 747s, DC10s into MIA and offer connections on their DC9s
They had a small network out of miami
Imagine...being stationed in 90s Miami flying DC-9 connection flights 😎, what a life that must have been
This feels like the wild west compared to boring plane spotting now....kind of like the world in general. Glossy with no personality.🤣🤣
Minute 9:54 Iberia s DC9 ????? Airline from Europe with 2 DC9 in Miami ?
What was Iberia doing with such small jets at MIA? An extended south American network maybe?
Those were flying to destinations from Miami for the connecting passengers coming from Madrid.
@@justplanes thanks! Nowadays they would just hop on a different airline part of the same network
I had this same question
7:37
What aircraft is that?
Dash 7 Paradise Island
@@justplanes One of the weirdest I've ever seen. Please tell me it's rare.
You can smell the kerosene ❤❤
You do wonder what might have been among the cargo, but *not* included in the manifests, of some of those cargo aircraft from Central and South America... 😒🤫
Taje. Vyceij Pezime. SDoro. Rodak. Satn. Sareijevo.
I like the old Iberia logo design better than the one now... The new one now looks bland AF and like it has no character at all
What were the Iberia DC-9's doing in Miami? Couldn't have been flying to Spain. Didn't think foreign airlines were allowed to fly domestic routes in the U.S.
Thats 2009
Nope, it's very clearly 1993 because nearly all these planes stopped flying wayy before 2009
