I Love ❤️ Lucy, which has more than stood the test of time ⏲️ ❤️. It has been on air for nearly 73 years. October 15th, 2024 I Love ❤️ Lucy will be celebrating 🍾 its 73rd anniversary. Thank you Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Bill Frawley and Vivian Vance for all the laughter, tears, joy and showing us what true friendship is. Thank you for giving us the greatest show of any genre of ALL TIME ⏲️ . Lucille Ball will always be the queen 👸 of the the small screen. ❤❤❤
People say she's drunk or grumpy. By 1975 Lucy was a hard-boiled successful businesswoman that didn't take BS from anyone. She was unfiltered and unfettered in her interviews. Lucy was still uber focused on pleasing her mother Dede who passed away July 20, 1977. This video is from 1975 and mentioned her mother.
I have seen her on several Johnny Carson shows - never seemed drunk or grumpy. Lucy and Johnny were good friends and it showed when she appeared on his show. Seemed she enjoyed being there -b/t/w Johnny Carson would not have been ok with anyone who came drunk to his show.
She comes across very touching, even though she’s brusque and blunt and doesn’t let them beat around the bush. She still comes across as honest and vulnerable.
Carson is jumpy & hyper in this one. I think he's intimidated by her. But she's not getting any of his straight lines, he's not used to that. Every time he goes for the joke, she reads him seriously, and every time he was serious, she assumed he was making a joke.
@@johndalton3180 she was on Johnny Carson several times and they were good friends - they cracked me up when they talked. He and Ed also appeared on one of her shows - Here's Lucy.
Whenever I watch her shows, it always impresses me to see how AMAZING of an actual ACTOR she was. Her comedic talent is so amazing its a given, top of the top.... But she was such a talented actress, and it seems like it comes naturally to her.... I heard she trained at one point at a school with Bette Davis.... but that kinda conflicts with what she said here, so I wonder whats true
She was training in a dramatic school in NYC at age 16 or so. However, the school said she should leave - no talent. Lucy said she was so shy and Bette Davis was their star pupil. Too funny.
If I remember correctly, she has a grave or memorial thing at the cemetery where my sister and baby girl are buried at, Lakeview Cemetery in Jamestown, N.Y. She and I are from that area.
Oh, Johnny and Ed earned their paycheck with this one. When you ask a question and a guest only comes back with "No", you gotta work to fill the dead air.
Lucille Ball and Jonny Carson were class acts and comedic geniuses. You can watch these classic interviews with the whole family. Comedy in 2023 is trashy overall. Brian Taylor Oceanside CA
Lucy didn't appear to be a happy, person despite all of her talent and success. It's sad to hear she didn't want to live a long life. Maybe her physical limitations from the ski accident was one of the reasons why. That, and Desi.
@@arlenecerf8833 i dont agree 72 is not old with looking after self you have a great 15 or so years!!! ....god willing...when i was 25 72 was old but now that im 50 72 is nothing
@@hhhh-xb9py well I understand where you’re coming from. I’m 63 - 13 years older than you. However , my opinion has always been that past 64/65 you are considered a senior citizen I.e. an elderly. Heck at 72 you are old enough to become a great grandparent. I became a grandma at 48 and my grandbaby is now 14. I get what you’re saying about living beyond your eighties (God willing) however , the reality is even if you go through all precautions of living a clean life - it is not guaranteed that one will live to late eighties to 100. A minority of the population will live to that ancient age but not the majority due to different circumstances. But I respect your opinion and hope you have a good day Xx
@@faithe54 I agree, it's sad to hear her talk like that. After seeing many interviews and watching the Lucy & Desi movie that was just released it seems like she was happiest when she was working/performing. The movie has a clip of Desi talking about how he wanted to quit and she wanted to continue working. He referenced Bob Hope in speaking about retirement who said fishing is boring because the fish don't laugh at a joke. I believe she was one of those comedic talents who just loved performing for an audience.
"You don't do television very often" Lucy "Turn on you water 🚰💧faucet" 😂🤣She is an institution!!! Comedy should start and end with Lucille Ball (1911-1989), just like late night television 📺starts & ends with Johnny Carson (1925-2005).

One of the greatest. I've read and watched so much stuff about her and Desi this past month. Just amazing.
Lucy & Desi in "The Long, Long Trailer" is a must watch!
Above her grest talent she is a wonderful woman greatly admire and seen here in south América..one of a kind
Man they need to upload more Lucille Ball episodes from the Johnny Carson show I must say!

My parents love watching Johnny Carson Rip mama and daddy Rip 🙏
She was a talent one of a kind
Watching these interviews of Lucille in 75 blows my mind. I grew up watching I love Lucy in the late 90s. Timeless ❤❤❤
Two of the best funny people in comedy ! They both make me laugh !
Johnny and Dick Cavett were Lucy's favorite interviewers. You could tell how fond shows of both of them when she did their shows
She comes across very touching, even though she’s brusque and blunt and doesn’t let them beat around the bush. She still comes across as honest and vulnerable.
They're so funny together ❤️ I love Lucy and Johnny Carson.
FOREVER I LOVE LUCY!!!!👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
Loved her holding Johnnys hand.
Loving all these interviews! Please keep posting! 💖

This is a very astute comment, thanks!
Johnny eventually stopped having Lucy on. She was shunted off to guest hosts like Joan Rivers.

Bette Davis was the star pupil at the school of which Lucy spoke in this interview.
See Lucy in the film noir Dark Corner.

I don't know what it is about her but I love Lucy!

There's a fun episode of Here's Lucy where she meets Johnny and Ed. Not sure which season but it's very funny.
Ah yes, the first lady of comedy!
She seems kind of nasty here. Is it just me? Must be.
Did she realize how much she was loved??!!
Then maybe. Late in life when her last show failed and critics were cruel, apparently not. They say her final years were sad because of the rejection.
You can tell they’re also long time friends, when she has her hand on Johnny’s, and he puts his other hand on it.
She was so lit up!!
how do you know?
I kind of thought the same thing.
Nothing but class acts. Those days are gone forever.

This wasn’t funny at first, but it got funny 😄😄😄🥰‼️
She wanted to go in 5 years..she had 13 more!! ..dont wish your time away!!
Oh lucy...as a pack a day smoker....you never jogged...lol
Such a great interview! They mention Saint Louis also. Did she spend some time in Saint Louis?
Ed McMahon did not smoke because an open flame near his breath would have created a drink in his honor. The Molotove Olive Cocktail.
She looks loaded and mean . Someone i wouldn’t want to be around or anyone for that fact
Was there a classier act??

U can tell lucy not comfterable when not in a character and has to be herself...
She said she want ti be dead by 72....so young today..maybe old then...

72 is not considered young regardless of the era or time period. Not everyone is fortunate to live past 80/early 80s let alone 90 to 100

She seemed so grouchy here. Am I missing something?
That was her personality. She was very different from the characters she played on TV.
Lucy acts like Bette Davis.......
Clear
She is soooo drunk
What a 🦌 zDeer
lol dum dum
She is not funny at all in real life
She was not funny after her show!
Phew. Skin was crawling in that one.
Oh give OVER this is 1975 !!!! Jesus
I feel sorry for her. She's right up there with Biden.
LUCILLE DIED 1989 !!!! Republicans are now DEAD !!!
Ah an idiot talking about politics
I could never stand Lucy.
Then why watch? just so you could reinforce your complaining?
OH GROW UP DIV !!!! @Gary attention seeker
Well she probably wouldn't like you either 😂😂😂
