I don't recall the female vocalists name but she isn't a part of the band. They collaborated on this song specifically for the olympics. The song itself is an old french revolutionary song. The decapitated woman is a representation of Marie-Antoinette who was decapitated during the french revolution. She was the queen of france at that point
In case you didn't know, the building was the actual prison Marie-Antoinette was kept in before her execution. Last thing to add maybe is that the ship is the official symbol for the city of Paris, along with the latin saying "Fluctuat nec mergitur", which means "Rocked (by the waves) but doesn't sink"!
Dope reaction man! If you wanna try some of their other stuff i would recommend Gift of Guilt live at Brixton or Flying Whales (not live) or Heaviest Matter of the Universe (also prefer not live). They have a bunch of incredible songs and they are my favorite band. These songs are probably their most popular but if you wanna check out smt different then their live perfomances of Oroborus or Where Dragons Dwell are incredible to watch as well. Lastly i will recommend my personal favorite songs by them: Vacuity (music video) and A Sight to Behold
It is actually a pretty decent introduction to the band. They are incredibly talented and have a very technical play style. It's definitely a heavier band overall and i could recommend some of their lighter songs if you want? The drummer Mario Duplantier is considered to be one of the best in the world and his brother Joe is the vocalist and lead guitar player. As i said this is a heavier band but for me this was the gateway into heavier metal genres. I think they combine heaviness and technical playing very well with catchy riffs. Many people i've talked to agreed that they are definitely a gateway band and most definitely one of the biggest modern bands
