      I raised 3 kids mostly alone, and the plus side is that my kids are much more independent and capable than their peers. I taught them to do a lot of things that usually parents do and it was not a bad thing at all.

    I'm just out the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit Scotland and been put to hospital closer to where I live, it's an ordinary hospital ward with no room. I'm waiting to get re-homed. I have a T12 complete injury. My legs jump like crazy, it seems to be when I'm doing something new a d not having the correct equipment such as a shower chair and standing frame. Love the video, I wish I had the support you've got.

    Also I had a DVT blood clot two years ago my leg really swelled up and I was pretty much in bed for 3 months the swollen leg stayed swollen but the healthy leg went so skinny from muscle loss it was so strange to see but mine was only temporary so after i had healed from my blood clot and became mobile again the muscle built back up. I'm just sharing because it was interesting to me how quick the muscle deteriorated because I wasn't able to move around the home even.
    I'm sorry anyone has to deal with these types of injuries but thank you for sharing your story I'm sure it will help many people 🤗

    Thanks for the leg cross tip! Building upper body strength helps me do these techniques. Some days there is minimal spasticity and some days more, nothing works. I haven't figured it out. Exposure to cold weather is sometimes a factor.

    I was wondering, can stress or worry trigger muscle spasms? Also I read some other comments about how the cold weather can affect spasms, does this mean that the cold has the potential to trigger them?

    Do you find that laying on your back and doing leg lifts with help and doing flex and point exercises with your feet work well.
    And also with your feet flat lift the hips up and back down?
    I'm about to get a client with new partial quad injury. I hope to help with rom! He has alot of spasms in his legs and has maxed out the baclofen dose.....so you say exercise helps with the spasms. I was thinking that too and also the laying on the stomach to stretch hips and everything the opposite way!

    Great video,im paralyzed 4 years now..im t6 incomplete,i have no movement but have some feeling..my spasms are tge worse just like yours.i tried baclofen.doesnt work at all and i also tried botox injections and again nothing..im thinking baclofen pump but scared its just gonna be a waste considering i feel nothing when i take it orally...along with your spasms,do u feel an intense burning sensation? I was given gabepedtin for it and it helps a little..

    • @adaptivetravel
      @adaptivetravel  4 роки тому +4

      I would be reluctant to try the baclofen pump for the same reason. It sounds like you get nerve pain with your spasms, I'm really lucky that I don't get any nerve pain so don't need to take gabapentin, although I have some friends who have similar pain and take medication for it. I'm thinking of trying out CBD oil, so I'll let you know if that works for me!
