Favorite running back of all-time. There have been better runners but Portis remains my favorite. He was such a smooth runner, especially at Miami and in his first few seasons in the league. Even after the injuries robbed him of his speed, he became an efficient power runner. He was also one of the most violent back I've ever seen in pass protection.
IMO the 2001 Miami Hurricanes are the greatest collection of college football talent of all time. And many on that team considered Clinton Portis their best player. The greatest story I ever heard was that in 3 years, nobody ever saw him with a textbook and he didn’t own a backpack 🎒. I always tell my HS students that unless you’re better than Clinton Portis, do your homework.
man he was my fav shame about all the concussions. his decision making skills as a runner were outstanding. as soon as he knew where he wanted to go with the ball he made the cut.
Luc Arce Frank’s a BAD MAN but still can’t see that when comparing their respective ‘U’ years. Clinton by far. Should’ve been top 5 pick in the League that year.
Portis was favorite rb growing up, Den got the better end in the trade for Bailey. But I wonder how Portis' career would have been if he stayed in Denver another 5-7 years.
@@gsactotube comparing their " u " years idk . this was probably the deepest college team of all time in terms of nfl talent and they nearly all considered Portis the top player on this team
Gore was faster and McGahee was stronger (maybe faster, too), but Portis was so smooth, so patient, so decisive, and he was able to hit his top gear so quickly that he made it look easy. I'll bet UF wishes they had let him play RB?
Clinton Portis had rare footwork, balance, and vision. One of the truly great running backs from RB U!
Such an underrated all time back, his nfl run was very very impressive

Portia was a mad man
Oh yeah hands down!!
Portis had such an ability to keep his balance. Speed was also impressive.

Portis was the best RB in Cane history. Wasn’t my favorite at the time but putting favoritism to the side there isn’t any I’d put over him.
Break It Down Frank Gore >>> Clinton Portis

He really is

He was so good at that stop start juke. Freeze em & bounce it out so easily.
Please do a Roscoe Parrish there’s barely any college tape on this man and he was electric at The U

Would you please do Lamar Miller and Devin Hester
Bro I know Devin Hester he from our city of west palm beach aka the raw everyone knows him and his ppl
CP first run ever as a redskin he went 78 yards for a tud. Absolutely a dawg in every sense of the word.
He was one of the greatest at following his blockers
His contact balance is unreal
You should do one about mcgahee and Duke Johnson ken Dorsey and the list can go on and on with guys from the u
Who would be his most accurate modern day comparison?
Breece Hall in his first 5 - 6 years and then someone like Joe Mixon his last couple seasons.
Vision is next level
Mr.C.P. Awesome Running back..🙌
Please please please do the same for Willis Mcgahee and Frank Gore
Portis at Miami>Mcgahee at Miami
Both greats though

You know that portis ran a 4.2 right? Gore was fast before them knee injuries but he wasn't faster then portis
Portis runs with great vision
The U baby
Could you do Edgerrin James please?
That boy had vision
That’s why Shanahan drafted him, he fitted well in his blocking scheme.
Explosive runner 🏃♀️
Reminds me of Emmitt smith the was his balance was
Alvin Kamara ran like Clinton
Clinton Portis had some wheels!
Just think Frank Gore was the original starter.
You missed 1 TD vs West Virginia in 2000.
Stacey Coley
Ain’t he in prison?
Amazing running back
Power and speed
In the nfl they ran him to the ground or else he'd have as many as gore
Laurel MS
NFL 5k
Bubba Franks
