Well their offensive line was still pretty young and they couldn’t block for shit. There were numerous times where they seemingly let them get by them to sack rg3. His injury was inevitable and I was suprised he even made it through the first season without getting injured. He was pretty much forced to play through injury bc they were in the playoffs. He was in the same situation as Andrew luck except they made rg3 play
Speak for yourself, I loved RG3 for his Rookie season until his head blew up and he thought he had more control of the team than Mike Shanahan, going over Shanahan’s head to Dan Snyder to get his way and he lost the locker room because everyone lost respect for him, he showed no accountability and no respect to anyone. I find it hilarious that he thinks Washington ruined his career when he ruined it himself because the success went to his head.
@@trev2turnt lol RG3 played 10 good games then got hurt and after that he couldn’t get around the outside as fast and he was awful in the pocket with out the threat of running. Still our guy! People can talk down on you all they want but what you did can never be taken away. It was a heartbreaking end to that 2012 season,, but it was legendary. It'll always be. And so will you Robert
RG3 had just as much to do with his demise as Snyder, he was the one that went over Mike Shanahan’s head straight to Dan Snyder and told Snyder that he wanted to play after Shanahan told him he was not playing because he was injured. This is why Shanahan quit because he didn’t like the way Snyder let RG3 do whatever he wanted, RG3 took his early success straight to his head and he lost the locker room and he lost his career.
He was the one who decided he wanted to be a pocket passer and not run he was the one too call the meeting of the coaches and tell them to cut anything that had to do with him running out of the playbook. He was the one to say he was good to go and force himself back on the field.
Exactly thank you, RG3 was the one who went over Shanahan’s head to Dan Snyder and told Snyder to force Shanahan to start him when Mike didn’t want him playing because he was still limping. RG3 was the one that went over Shanahan’s head to Snyder after his rookie year and had Snyder force Shanahan to stop using the read option and focus on more pocket passes even though RG3 couldn’t read defenses, always throw to his first read and couldn’t throw a good deep ball. RG3 was the reason it didn’t work in Washington and he only has himself to blame, Dan Snyder would have done anything for him and he knew it and took advantage of it. In fact RG3 ruined a good thing for Washington because the plan was for Mike Shanahan to finish out his 5 year contract and then Kyle Shanahan was going to take over for him, you know that coaching staff in 2012 had Kyle Shannahan, Shawn Mcvay, and Matt Lafleur, all 3 of them have been to the NFC Championship and 2 have been to the Super Bowl over the last 5 years and RG3 ruined it because Shannahan wanted out as soon as Snyder allowed RG3 to go over his head and when Shannahan left all those great coaches went with him.
Yessir, we love u rg3 U played your heart out and literally gave your body for the team.. we appreciate you and that year you gave us is my favorite year I’ve had in my 36 years of life..
RGIII is completely right. He had his test and that's that. You don't get to choose your test. Where you go,how many games you win, injuries or the level of success you have. It's all part of the journey in the NFL and all you can do is your best. You can't control it.
If RG3 was drafted somewhere else he would be out the league much quicker. Shanahans created an office just for him. He couldn’t read defenses and wasn’t a pocket passer. Simple fact he always blame other for why he wasn’t successful is sad
Not necessarily. The Shanahans did everything right but Snyder did everything wrong. If the Colts or Cowboys would've picked him up, he'd definitely be out of the league quicker. If Peyton would've gone to Washington (he was thinking about it and visited Mike Shanahan's house) and RG3 got drafted by Denver, I wouldn't be surprised if they still win the Super Bowl in 2015. Team matters for many complex reasons. Still, what RG3 needed most was somebody looking out for his health because he clearly wasn't being responsible. Just because other teams were more responsible doesn't mean RG3 isn't entirely to blame for his fall. He put himself out there and ignored the risks. 2012 may have caused the injury, but 12-15 months of healing (and not 7) could have done wonders. Alex Smith had a far more horrific injury at a much older age and still came back - with the same doctors and team. He waited.
Face of the franchise, but never the face of the NFL. He had a remarkable rookie season, but that was it, and no one ever considered him the face of the league.
outside of this year the last time I had this much fun as a Skins/Commanders Fan was 2012. So regardless of all the issues Robert may have had, he was still responsible for some great memories. He'll always have a home here in Washington. He was young and dumb and in a horrible organization.
Robert, all you had to do was prepare like an NFL QB. Learn the protections, hots and plays. You simply didn’t do that, it hurts me as a life long skins fan. You should have been our franchise QB. Snyder didn’t help.
2012 was a great year, but injuries do happen.. I'm not sure you could control that, no matter what team you are playing on. Kirk Cousins development made things tough on RG3 too.
@@BallCDO RG3 was never the face of the NFL , how is that hating, never said he was trash , just wasn't the face of the league , everybody knows this casual
It would’ve ended the same no matter who drafted him. A lot of his issues were due to him. His inability to develop as a QB is all on him. Demanding the playbook be changed when it was protecting his weaknesses were all on him. Demanding to play when injured? On him. Was the organization and owner good at that time? No. But these two things can be true at the same time.
As a redskins fan we appreciated 2012, but we don’t think about RG3 anymore. Was he done dirty in Washington, probably, but he was equally his own worst enemy. He was not built for the pro game, as I recall telling one of my brothers before he was drafted. Unfortunately, his style of play made him much more susceptible to the type of injuries he suffered and were predictable. He may have survived all of that in DC, but there was also that persistent soap opera between his father and team leadership that exhausted the patience of even the most ardent fan.
The hell he mean "now that there's new ownership I'm looking to get back involved" or w/e he said. It was Snyder who held RG3 down the entire time always. Ppl hate on Dan, but idk why they say he was a bad owner. Players don't say it. And Snyder always bagged out whoever his GM said was the top FA or priority signee. Snyder fired Shanahan for RG3 and did everything and more for him. In this clip it seemed like RG3 was talkin a little jaded about Snyder like he wanted to distance himself from him. It came off a little like now that hes no longer the owner RG3 doesnt need to distance himself from the organization. If RG3 is actually doing that then he's even more of a clown after ball than during ball.
His stubborness to accept his injuries and relationship with Snyder that put pressure on the medical team and coaches to keep him in games is what ruined him and also Kirk Cousins too
He wouldn't be playing right now. He is uncoachable. He wants to play his way or no way. If it was all on Shanahan why didn't he wind up starting anywhere else?? Guy had unlimited talent, he just had the wrong mindset, and this is coming from a lifelong REDSKINs fan who was absolutely amazed by RG3 in 2012. The guy had an incredible rookie season, had he allowed Mike Shanahan to coach and guide him then its possible he would still be playing, but no, he demanded Mike Shanahan coach the team the way RG3 wanted. That is not how it works. I wish the guy well, but I am super psyched about JD5 and where this team is headed. Just as much blame for RG3s failure should be put on Dan Snyder, there is no way RG3 calls Mike and Kyle Shanahan into a meeting and demands they call plays a certain way without the approval of Dan Snyder.
That was a long winded rant that forgot "Was never a pocket passer, got daddy to fight his battle, whined to the owner about the coach and blamed teammates for his shortcomings"

whats your name sir i would love to write an article on this very topic?
@@maletop567 The name is T.C. Rawlins.
@@CFCalfRoping😂😂😂😂
What went wrong was he couldn't read a defense and ask management to make him a pocket passer overnight which he couldn't do.
Man us Washington fans always had your back. Wasn't his fault things went ass up with the Redskins. Blame it from the ownership down.
Man…rg3 was my favorite player …I’m sad that injuries killed a very promising career
Ego killed his career
2012 was special.
But he was insecure and the organization let him run his csreee down
4 words: my coach, my knee
That’s 3 dumbass
His stubborness to accept his injuries and relationship with Snyder that put pressure on the medical team and coaches to keep him in games is what ruined him and also Kirk Cousins too
We'll always love RG3!
Im from DC and the skins dropped the ball on him like they do everything else.
Let’s go!
Came back way to soon !
DMV love rgiii i still got his fathead poster in my childhood bedroom
Yea ok fight for the old name back then we hear you !
We love RG3 too, and I can see him mentoring JD5
Definitely, that would be awesome
Hell nah
He’s getting involved as a minority owner or heading in that direction. That’s what he meant by staying involved with the team
Zero accountability
That was a long winded rant that forgot "Was never a pocket passer, got daddy to fight his battle, whined to the owner about the coach and blamed teammates for his shortcomings"
RG-ME never changed
rg3 ruined his own career by being stubborn now he wants to play victim
🤨 W
