the unexpected pauses she takes after Dama Dam and the unbelievably synchronised piece of music that is fit in these pauses (esp from the drummer) have given the song a whole new meaning. Yes it's different from the original track. But this different is truly beautiful. Give it a few more listens before criticising.

Arjun Mehra I am a Punjabi and while I respect your sentiments a lot, I don't find the partition a tragedy. Maybe you'll have the same stories or maybe not but my family suffered a lot prior to the partition in the undivided Punjab to the point that my grandfather never spoke about his life there till the day he died. Pakistan was meant to happen it's a fruition of the struggle of my people and not some accident of fate or a conspiracy. Please don't disrespect our sovereignty by the typical akhand bharat and united punjab gibberish.

Culture donot develop in one night. It takes centuries and folk music is a part of culture. Pakistani music is pakistani music cuz it is a fusion of various pakistani cultures. I cant call american music my music because its not. Same way pakistani music can never be indian and vice versa. Cuz u dont have an understanding level which pakistanis have. Ofcourse u enjoy it. Akbar Ali did a cameo (a couple of songs at best) in season 6, Rohail's last season. But in this season he was given more prominent parts. It's no surprise that the two songs he did in this season - this song and Naina Moray - are the two best songs of this season.

I'm not religious, but how can anyone think that music, one of the most popular forms of entertainment, can be worship? Why stop there? Watching movies, playing video games etc. should be considered worship too? Because I worship all the time then. We're only here because we enjoy music, not because we're holier than those who are watching other youtube videos like pranks and stuff. I mean does listening to Honey Singh also count as worship?
My theory is that since movies and video games and other relatively modern forms of entertainment didn't exist thousands of years ago, when religions were in their infancy, music has be associated with some sort of ancient art and given a sacred status in some religions. Historic traditions always becomes parts of cultures and eventually religions.
