Hey Toniko, just wanted to say that your videos are incredible. I love animation so much and finally started learning how to animate a month ago. I LOVE it, and your videos have been amazing for keeping me on track and making sure I know what to learn and look out for. Thank you for putting the time and effort in to help nurture the passion of aspiring animators all around the world.
i did Actually Start doing Loglines, Mostly based off idea´s i have in my head, got alot of good idea´s for projects so worte them down because of this video here, Thanks for the Advise.
Any advice for a storyboard artist who’s in a animation mentorship for the time being but really needs his first job to get out of his parents house and is currently working on a few passion projects and even though you’ve applied hundreds and hundreds of times nobody is paying you any attention?
Get👏🏻feedbacks👏🏻 ! Read it to friends and family, people you trust, hell even to people you DON’t know who are in the industry and LISTEN. What do they like / don’t like / don’t understand ? What can you do better ? What are they used to ? Does you message came across ? Do not just copy and paste their feedbacks mindlessly or flat out ignore them, but try to understand where they’re coming from. Especially when they’re not used to writing for animation, because they won’t sentenced it the best way. do NOT hear. LISTEN !
need ideas? Feel free to collaborate because I have rather a load of ideas and never the time or patience to do anything about it! :v: they may not be as profound tho.
I didn't watch the video yet. I don't know if you will ever bother to reply this, but I'm writing this solely based on the title. OFC I'll watch the video later today. It's just that... I have an idea, THE idea for a long animation, more than 1 hour long. The issue? I've NEVER animated anything in my life. I don't know where to start from exactly, I know I'll need good drawing, coloring, shading, lighting and whatever the fuck else lessons and practice. But for how long? God only knows. What softwares to use? I don't wanna pay my kidney to expensive professional subscriptions. I know blender is a good one, but I'm still to find a 2d free software too. Am I crazy? Yes. Delusional? Maybe. But I wanna see this through the very end.
For me, the idea comes when I drink an excessive amount of coffee or other caffeinated beverage, or maybe take a caffeine pill. It becomes more polished when I become desperate, smoke wееd, and then, after four years and an investment of one blоttеr, five rubles and two bags of rice in North Korea, it's done. You also need to have a database of movie experiences in your head and some skill at drawing a shitty storyboard real quick, because when it rains, it pours, you need to catch the idea when you're in the creative zone. Shit, this is not my twitter, where am I
This is smart because you probably just want to show your skills to sell yourself as an animator, because at the start people won’t be hiring you as a writer 😅
No. I refuse to use that stuff. I want everything in a self made short film to be my work and mine alone. Having an AI write a rough draft takes away from my satisfaction
Or... collaborate? If you're a visual person; maybe find a comic, story or "something" that you want to use as inspiration. Reach out to other artists! Storytellers, musicians and designers might be delighted to help collaborate. My best stories and creative projects went so much faster and better when there was another person helping to narrow down the options on a project. I'm not very decisive so I find collaboration to really help in my weakest area. If you're not great at character design, collaborate with someone who has that as a strength. If soundtracks are not your favorite part, collaborate with an audio genius. If you're great at fight scenes but need help with writing speaking lines, collaborate! If you're a great storyteller but visuals fall flat... you get the picture ;) In the West we've been sold this idea of the 'lone creator' or 'lone genius' ...but it's a myth. Michelangelo had a team of 12, Da Vinci had up to 37 artists working with him. Very few great works of art were created by just 1 person, and those were often not appreciated until the artist's death because they completed a fraction of the output a bigger team could do and likely had a harder time making it their full-time thing. What's weird is the modern expectation that one artist can churn out masterpiece after masterpiece without help.
the thumbnail is so relatable
good video :)
Is this the reply section?
[ dogs don't just go to the bathroom and dance, they do gymnastics too!]

The thumbnail deserves a shortfilm itself
I needed to know this actually. Thanks Toniko!
This content is always released at the best time possible, this is what I needed RIGHT NOW
Go for a walk.
Seriously, I do that every time I need to think.
Having an inspiration is a good thing to bring with you as well.
YOU MADE WOLFSONG!?!?
OH I HAVE A FUCKING BONE TO PICK WITH YOU, YOU BROKE MY FUCKING HEART WITH THAT ANIMATION
The timing is finally laser-focused at me, thank you
I just put on my headphones and just think about something in my life that i can manipulate and over exaggerate it to be a good film.
heres how: just make ideas
the end
sure most will suck. but just keep trying. now i can write a story in 30 mins with no issue (working on a cartoon)
Thank you very much! I've had some problems getting and making up ideas for the animations that I do, thanks to you I now can do more animations.❤
This is exactly what I needed right now, insane timing
Fun fact: many people get their ideas while they are in the bathroom X"D

I busted to da thumbnail bruv.
Toniko, you are awesome!!! I want to work with you!!!
Most hard part of animation I found is getting idea for animation
But how to refine my idea to he good enough to get funding 😢

My ideas aren't really bad
It's just that it's really hard to animate
I always imagine higher than my skil
I have this idea but not skilled enough
THE THUMBNAIL 💀💀
But why your animation lines are always shaking to much is that a mistake ?
need ideas? Feel free to collaborate because I have rather a load of ideas and never the time or patience to do anything about it! :v: they may not be as profound tho.
My next mini toon is going up Sunday 11/19/23. Its just talking turkeys making jokes. But you know what? Its something!

Please don't make me animate because I can't. That was a long time ago then I don't want to animate anymore but i do try I do
Why don't you just make simple animatics? (Of course if you still like animation)
where is a dream bandits? wtf bro
Chatgpt can help make first drafts of scripts
No. I refuse to use that stuff. I want everything in a self made short film to be my work and mine alone. Having an AI write a rough draft takes away from my satisfaction
anyone tried AI for making short script ?
First
The thumbnail was insulting ...I had to click 🙄
