  • Conserving water. Sounds pretty simple. And it is.
Doing the simple stuff, like making sure your irrigation system is functioning properly. Turning off your irrigation system for a few days after a good downpour. Fixing leaky faucets and running toilets. Replacing older, inefficient fixtures and appliances with newer, more efficient ones. It all adds up to big savings. And it’s one of the cheapest water supply strategies we can tap into.
Using water efficiently means we can meet the demands of a growing population with the water we already have. It means we can postpone building costly new water supply projects that are on the horizon. And it allows us to pay down debt on the existing ones.
So, congratulate yourselves. The way we use water today is much different than how we used it a decade ago. The amount of water we’re not using today is measured in lower demands. Something like 50 million gallons per day less (on average). And that’s amazing. Thank you for being such good stewards of this precious resource. Keep up the good work.
