    Thank-You SO MUCH for this amazing video! This solved my problem of being unable to do the figure 8 wrist rolls smoothly on my weak side. The Nunchaku I bought came with the standard 7 inch chain and I was able to do the rip rolls, and regular wrist rolls. The tough part I couldn't overcome was doing the figure 8 wrist roll on the side where I would have to bring the "thumbs up chuck" backwards to have it crossover my wrist. Every time I attempted this, I would grab the chain instead of the returning chuck or sometimes I found myself having to overreach for the returning chuck. I had no idea the chain was too long. After I spotted your video by accident, it solved my problem . Today I removed 3 links off the chain length to shorten it to 4.5 inches(my Palm Width) instead of the standard 7". What a DIFFERENCE it made. After a few twirls, I was able to do the wrist roll on my weak side with no problem. Now, after practicing for an hour, I can do them pretty fast and it looks quite nice as the transitions from one side to another are smooth. I saw a video where one dude says the chain length is a MYTH and that video stopped me from experimenting with different chain lengths. Thank God I stumbled on your vid. Thanks a million again. You just gained another new Subscriber!

    I can’t do this I’m gonna give up lol I can do it once... but after 2 it just messes up and I can’t do it after it......... it rather hits the other or I grip always too low to feel comfortable
    And I have tried letting go at different stages but I can’t do it

      If you're just starting out, this will take practice. You will drop your nunchaku, you will hit yourself, you will hurt your hands, but never give up!

      Hey brother don't quit, it does take a lot of practice, just do it slow in the beginning it will happen for you, one day you will notice like hey I just did the wrist roll, sure I am in my 60s now and used to practice all the time, I then put them in a box and put them away and forgot them for 35 years. I unpacked them about 2 weeks ago, I watched a couple of videos and came across this video and it all made sense again. You can't give up cause you then tell the sticks that they won and you gave up. This is how I restarted I sat down in my computer chair leaned forward and put my elbow on my knee and started so slow a turtle could have beat me also when you practice go to the store and get some that are padded, I got a white pair for like $8.00 I then candy striped them with black electric tape from top to bottom so as to create what's called a eye break and that really helped and like I said it took 2 weeks to learn the wrist roll, as in the days when I started their was not anything called a wrist roll it was created a long time after when I quit. If I was where you are at I could teach you in one day how to do the wrist roll. Please stay strong...

    WOW!!!! THANK YOU, VERY MUCH, FOR THIS EXCELLENT DESCRIPTION/COMMENTARY, AND TRAINING/SKILLS DEMO VIDEO!!! I JUST MADE A SET, [USING (2) 13" PIECES OF 1" PVC WATER PIPE, WITH GLUED END CAPS, AND ABOUT 4-1/2" OF 3/8" BRAIDED NYLON ROPE BETWEEN THE BATONS, THEN WRAP EACH HANDLE WITH "GRIP TAPE"], ...AND THEY SEEM TO BE QUITE NICE, BY YOUR DESCRIPTION OF THE CRITICAL DIMENSIONS. I WANT TO USE THESE, AS A FORM OF PHYSICAL THERAPY, AFTER SHOULDER SURGERY, A COUPLE YEARS AGO. THIS SEEMS TO BE GOOD FOR HAND-EYE CO-ORDINATION!...

    So if your chain/rope length is supposed to be as wide as your palm, why does Bruce Lee use such long chained nunchucks?

    • @357646
      @357646 8 років тому +4

      the length doesnt have to be your palm size, different lengths do different things. long length is hard to control but has more power short is easier to control with less power. basicaly you gotta find out what suits yu best, i just started learning today lolll

    • @ConFusedProductions
      @ConFusedProductions  8 років тому +6

      The answer is quite simple; it's a Movie. Watch the films closely and you can see that the length of the chain changes depending on what the scene calls for. Also, keep in mind that the Nunchaku used for the films were either Foam or Hard Rubber. It's best not to base your preference on a fictional works.
