I heard you mention in one of your videos that you work with children but I never thought that you drove in some type capacity or that you had your CDL‘s. Please don’t take that the wrong way I just didn’t think about it. Well we have a lot in common, I actually have my CDL‘s as well and I actually drove a school bus for over 20 years. Now I work in office, I came off the bus 15 years ago but I’m still working within Transportation. I’m almost 54, God’s Will I’ll be able to retire soon. My Grandmother was the same way and she taught all of her daughters, My mother being the oldest of them all...to do the same!!
My mother and my Aunt's and all my female relatives wouldn't have it no other way!! They have to be to boss and queen of their house absolutely 💯❤️!! It's just a pure treasure to see now days, because so many of these girls today refuse to do what you do, and they want their men to do it all... Which is fine I absolutely believe in the man being a good God fearing Man and taking care of his family, but that is not what I'm talking about...😬😉😒these woman now days literally call wonderful woman like you and my mom traditional and they swear they will never do what you do!! It's a total blessing to have a beautiful woman as yourself that takes pure pride in her home and in her kitchen 💯!! The woman in my family don't play that, they ain't bout to have nobody in their house running their kitchen or feeding their family but them Amen💯👏👏

I get so much pleasure in helping my husband because he works sooooo hard!!! Although we both work full time, I still help him as much as I can, and also make sure he comes home to a CLEAN HOME!!!! Your home is how a woman should care for her home, husband ,and children. If there was an award you and all the "old fashioned" homemakers would win first prize. Not all, but most, Lord help these young women coming up now who don't have a clue how to keep a home nor do they want to.

I always thought that you were a school teacher because of how well you provide instructions when baking your cakes, as well as how well you pronounce your words. I was close though. I remember in your video on how you met your husband you said that you drove kids to school when you are a teenager. Awesome that you're driving the school bus once again!

My daughter drove school bus when the two grandkids were young she would take them with her I give you alot of credit the school kids are very lucky to have you. Oh! My brother drove a bus also he was a big guy and the kids called him tiny. 🚍🥰💕
Oh, my God, lady! I am a school bus driver; I drive for CMS. Lol. I love my job too. Before that, I worked as a psychosocial rehabilitation specialist for 15 yrs. I am semi-retired.

😄 I absolutely love it and NEVER would have guessed! Ms Donna, I was a bus driver from 2001 - 2006. I LOVED driving that big ole bus!!! But them chirenz...WHEW CHILE!!!! In the urban areas of Houston, Texas at Houston ISD...NO MA'AM!!! As long as our heavenly Father blesses me, I'll NEVER return. I don't even like for my girls to ride the bus. It's a LAST resort.!!!

OMG I have been skipping this video and I'm so glad I finally watched it 😃. Who would have ever thought a bus driver. I too am a bus driver and have been now going on 27yrs( 20 in transit 6 in school). You're right it's something about being behind the wheel of something bigger than your car lol. As for your cake videos I've gained about 20pounds just from watching them all, I love it. My favorite 2 at the moment are the peach cobbler and the carrot pineapple pound cakes. Which I'm going to try and make one of them for this upcoming holiday. Keep the videos coming, you have such a beautiful family. Continue to stay blessed and highly favored ❤️

I use to love driving a bus. But when I was driving, they didn't require the CDL back in the early 90's.

Donna, I just became aware of and joined your channel in the last year, so I am just going back and seeing your older videos. I love your channel, your recipes, and what I have learned about you and your family, and I recall that you mentioned that you are in North Carolina. So much of what you share about your mother in the kitchen is also true of what my mother's style was in the kitchen (wonderfully simple but superbly tasty food prepared in a spotless kitchen by extremely clean hands), so I am wondering if you also may have any roots in the Gullah-Geechee community as my mother did? My mother's go-to seasonings for much of her dishes were similar to your mom's (Accent, onion powder, onion salt, garlic powder, garlic salt, Lawry's seasoned salt, black pepper, and paprika). We could distinctly smell her food cooking no matter where we were in our neighborhood; and especially when she was frying chicken, our neighbors would comment, "Stella Mae frying up some of that good ole chicken of hers". Like you, I prepare most of my dishes the same way my mother used to. I just turned 65, and my mother went home to be with God in 1994, but sometimes I miss her as though she just transitioned yesterday. I am older than you, but your humble, gentle, modest ways, and your no-nonsense mastery of taking care of your "bidness" remind me so much of my mom, which I am told is a distinct hallmark of a Geechee woman❤ Just wondering😊
