St Martin de Porres was my year 2 class’s saint a couple of years ago - the children all loved him and liked to imitate his ways (helping with cleaning, being kind to animals, helping sick friends etc). I so enjoyed that year!
St Martin was my mother's patron saint. When she told us that he was a black saint I laughed in my mind and said that she is losing it 😊. She was devoted to him and ask for his intercession all her life. Thank you St Martin for your care and help. I always tell people that ask that were brought up on St Martin, as is he if some kind of baby food. Thanks for the well narrated biography. It explained a lot of questions I had about him. I visited Saint Mark Catholic Church in Hunterville nc ! The Father was African American he did the mass i. Hispanic language loved!! the Hispanic congregation Hispanic black and americans loving the body of Christ. Saint Martin is one of my favorite saints, along with St. Rose who was his contemporary in Lima. My only objection is to the way in which Juan de Porres, the saint’s father, is portrayed. It is true that at first he did not recognize Martin and his sister as his offspring. But later he provided them with an education and gave money to their mother, Ana. For the time, Juan turned out to be a relatively good, loving parent, much more caring than many of the “natural” fathers of the time. Otherwise, this is a fabulous biography of Saint Martin de Porres. Very well done.

it does sound a bit funny, but i think sometimes in interracial relationships, the child might take more attributes of one parent vs another.
