I'm interested in blocking the late afternoon sun and reducing heat inside. Is there an Indow to help with this or are they just for cold weather draft reduction?
Our inserts do a great job regulating temperature year-round! Your Indow representative can help you figure out which insert grade works best with your windows
Hi, Indow window inserts should greatly reduce or entirely eliminate condensation on existing single- or double-pane windows. The Compression Tube effectively stops warm, moist air from reaching the glass. There will be times when the acrylic will start to fog up but not nearly as severe as the glass would. If condensation is repeatedly appearing inside the glass or fogging up the acrylic, then there is most likely an existing condition in the wall that should be addressed and remedied.
Hi Fred, most Indow customers choose to keep their inserts in place for extended periods of time, though the inserts are easy to remove and reinstall if you ever need to access your windows
I have a window that lets sunlight warm the house in the winter...which is great. I'm looking at the insert so that the cold window glass doesn't cool the indoor air....especially at night.Would the insert help with this? Would the insert block the incoming heat from the sun during the day?
Indow inserts were designed exactly for this reason! Our acrylic glaze panels transmit heat and cool air seven times more slowly than glass, so this is a great way to regulate your home's temperature year-round!
@@Indowwindows I just want to make sure you have not misunderstood what I need. I need an insert that allows for radiative heat gain and minimizes conductive heat loss. So if the inserts are great "year-round" , I would expect that they block undesirable radiative heat gain in the summer time...which means they would block the desirable radiative heat gain in winter. Are you saying that the inserts are smart enough to know when radiative heat needs to be blocked and when it should be allowed?
Thank you for this great question, Andy. Our Standard Grade insert does not greatly reduce solar heat gain, which is what you want in winter. It will not block this heat gain in summer either, but with our acrylic glaze transmitting heat and cool air seven times more slowly than glass, it will keep your cool air inside longer, which means you run your AC for less time. If you are looking to reduce solar heat gain in summer, our Shade Grade is the way to go for you. It reduces solar heat gain through the window by 51%.

Wish there was a way these could work with window blinds that are installed within the window frame. Blinds provide flexible light control and privacy options that can be adjusted through out the day but don’t offer sound proofing. These window inserts offer sound proofing but not flexible, adjustable light and privacy control.

I need these inserts as I live near a train track but for two 35x70 windows for about 1,300 dollars? Seems very expensive for Florida.
