Strider is just so charming. The acting is so dramatic that I can’t help but love it. Kinda rude to say but it’s so bad its good. I’m not trying to insult him because I legitimately love this channel and all it’s content. And Strider is extremely pleasant. I just want to sit down and have some tea with him.
He's a great example of how people should behave on the Internet. Everyone is welcome to their opinions, but they also ought to respect other people and their opinions too. It's fine to argue about things and debate what's what, but you shouldn't go into particularly insulting extremes when doing it. There are limits to both ends of the spectrum.
Cartoon High The way I see it, Strider's so fun to watch because he's clearly enjoying himself. The hammy reactions, the exaggerated wordy descriptions; he's just a goof who's being himself in hopes people will join in, and it really works IMO
*There are two types of puppets:* 1. Puppets that are very cuddly and kid-friendly who sings a lot and teaches kids about basic learning. (Like Sesame Streets or The Muppets) 2. Puppets that are straight out of every horror movies. (I dare to watch Mr. Meaty and early Noddy COMBINED)
Eh, I would've put the three entries in reverse order. Pooh may have resembled Freddy Fazbear, but he at least looked bright, colorful, and cheerful. I'm actually interested in giving Pooh's Corner a look! The black and white Noddy show, though- that is why I have fond memories of watching that show in *color!* When you really think about it, any bright and colorful kids show would be a lot creepier in black and white, especially Teletubbies!
*There are two types of puppets:* 1. Puppets that are very cuddly and kid-friendly who sings a lot and teaches kids about basic learning. (Like Sesame Streets or The Muppets) 2. Puppets that are straight out of every horror movies. (I'm still watching on you, Stingy).
There was an attempt to adapt Thomas the tank engine into a show back in 1953. It was supposed to be and adaptation of Awdry's first Railway Series book "The Three Railway Engines". They filmed it with model trains but due to a faulty switch, one of the trains fell of the tracks and a hand picked it back up. This whole disaster aired on live TV. Although to this day, there still hasn't been any footage of it found.
I feel like may have seen it when I was REALLY little. No wonder this was abandoned, Pooh was ANYTHING but cuddly and those EYES can stare into your soul. They gave Tigger and Piglet beady eyes why not Pooh Bear?
I remember it too! For a different reason, though - the PSA-type episodes were shown at my elementary school when I was kindergarten. The movements and costumes were just so strange and awkward that when I grew up, I swore it was part of some crazy fever dream until I found it on UA-cam.
You know, it's really fun uncovering strange and abandoned kid shows, or just creepy shows in general. I'd love to see more of this! _Also the over-exaggeration of Dark-Strider was a tad bit annoying but still comical in my opinion. xP_
I mean, I personally have a weird soft spot for Welcome to Pooh Corner, but even I have to admit that the character's eyes look absolutely terrifying, and the slightly off version of everyone's voices and not always up to par puppetry can be sort of unsettling at times. However, I can't ignore the historical impact that these borderline demonic characters had on Disney, specifically the parks with articulation (the way to make it seem like characters talk) and Pooh's overall cuddliness.
Absolutely. I did some research into the parks during this list and pooh corner really helped the pooh mascot in particular evolve to the cuddlier version
They could actually do a Pooh corner reboot using the more modern costumes that look more like the characters. Look at the older costumes for Mickey and minnie compared to their current outfits, and you will see how much better they've become
Yeah, that's actually be something I'd watch (but reboot Bear in the Big Blue House first please lol). If you check out Disney Dan's DIStory series, he spotlights the costumes from the 2004 Winnie the Pooh touring show, and those are still relatively new enough, but also have similar technology to the Welcome to Pooh Corner characters, which they could use for that.
Well, speaking of that. Take a look with some other early costumes from Disneyland back in the day. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse looks like a matchstick. The Three Pigs looks like a bunch of serial killers and many more. But for Winnie, that's even worst than in the version of Pooh's Corner.
Friendship the big head? Nah that's not too bad, those mickey and Minnie ones look like that cause they were for ice skating shows originally, but they do give me nightmares whenever I see them
The thing about these childrens shows is that it was cute and wholesome underneath those unnerving suits. And the children that grew up to adore it, even despite their fears, could tell that these creepy beings didn’t mean any harm.
I'd definitely like to see more like this, personally. Things automatically become more intriguing when they're mysterious or forgotten. Solid work as ever, Phantom.
And OH MY GOD!! Noddy! That was one of my favorite shows when i was younger! Not the 1950s one, the newer one. I am so happy you reminded me of Noddy, thank you
PhantomStrider oh my god I understand that! It has such a catchy intro! MAKE WAY FOR NODDY!! NODDY! XDDD Edit: oh i forgot to add, I remember one episode where Noddy was replicating how the Police Man idles in the town by rocking back and forth on his heels, And i use to try and replicate that too sometimes XDDD
I'm soo happy!!!! Thank you for saying the modern Noddy's show name, I've been looking for it and it's theme song for year's but I couldn't remember it's name or find if on the internet, and no on knew what I was talking about when I asked if they knew what it was. Thank you strider!

Pooh Corner was very well done, saw it all the time as a kid.
It was a good show for preschoolers and the costumes were extremely high tech for the time but the aesthetic has aged very poorly
