This video was so much fun to watch! I’m located in the USA, where carp fishing is not very popular to say the least and match-fishing (for carp) is non existent. As a newly converted carp angler, I’m still a bit overwhelmed by the seemingly endless UK carp fishing information there is out there, but I’m learning a lot from your videos and hope to put my new knowledge to use very soon.
The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
Golden arm, One of the best pegs on that lake, 🤗 Glad you guys have been and done the live match, Hoping to see more of the big lads back there again. My pb of that lake was 16lbs a couple of weeks ago, As Jamie said once they get a munch on there wil be some crazy weights.
Good video and great match by Jamie as always, I would like to see more close ups though of rod tips and floats, to see exactly what Jamie or the angler at the time is looking at, to see signs ect what to strike at and not to and for good context them lumps dragging his rod in 😅
Hi Dylan well done mate, you won't go far wrong with Diawa, very good make, great pedigree, first bream and a undulate very envious Dylan well done to you both, shall be over for our yearly visit in September can't wait!! Take care buddy 👍
Believe it or not most commercial match landing nets are 22" upto 28" which are plenty big enough also as we don't use unhooking mats so it helps keep them safe and under control when your unhooking them with the net across your knees
Cradles the fish above the platform, like a hammock. Also points it’s head upwards for easy unhooking. The fish is in the net, unhooked and then in the keepnet within seconds without being handled
@@lukestafford6830 i see the ethics behind what you guys are doing to me it just doesnt look right trying to net a big fish in most of the time a small round net

A truly brilliant video of a class angler giving a minute by minute run down of his thoughts throughout a match. Well done Matrix.
A master at work, everything so efficient and makes it looks so,so easy but I know it isn't. Love watching you 👍👍👍👍

Brilliant thanks Jamie good to see the master at work tips and trying all things to get the fish to feed .
Brilliant content. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Thanks for sharing and well done to Jamie on the win.
Great insight to a master at work, I do like Marston Fields, that will develop into a fantastic venue when matured.
What an informative Video showing the way patients and water craft can help deliver the goods. Thanks Jamie.Well done.
Brilliant to watch J lad, it's learning to be patient for me

Thanks Jamie Brilliantly informative as usual 👌
Editing on this was on point 👏well fished j.....
Best match angler on the best peg dude is fire
Awsom as always jamie. That mtx5 looks a very strong pole, and stiff as a poker.
Great stuff, really enjoyed that 👍
Tom your the man ✌️
The confidence he has in his set up especially on the pole to just pull like he does is amazing
Jamie was using his mtx5,nice strong pole and he balances his elastic and hook length to perfection. He's a class act.
Enjoyed that, was always gonna be a tough ask, all good except for the McDonald's - nasty!!
Cracking video! Who won, where did Jamie finish? 130lb is great, did it win the match though?
Yes he won the match with that
Brilliant Jamie Thank you
Go on Jamie lad
this is how to do it utter quality
well done sir
Where did you finish in the match... Class video as ever.
How do you set up a shock leader
It is a length of mono (which stretches slightly) 8-10 ft is usually enough onto braid (which doesn’t stretch) and helps reduce crack offs 👍
What strength shock leader did you use on the waggler Jamie?
Just makes it look easy 😂
Just wish you could zoom in on his float a bit more when down the edges. Would be nice to see what he strikes at and doesn’t strike at.
Lovely fishery but carnt stand the noise of the hs2 site spoils it for me well done Jamie for the win 😅
Cracking f8lm. It wasn't too clear if Jamie won the match.? How did the rest of the anglers fair?
Jamie won the match with that weight
Jamie what were them Oakley glasses you talked about before .?
oakley deep water prizm

Did you win the match ??? Lol, watched for an hour and half and don’t know if you placed 🤔
Where did come in the match
He won it :)
Who won the match
Jamie won it with that weight
But did he win the match ?
Yes he did :)
those carp are bent in half man
Pole fishing seems so sterile to me , just my opinion .
why is it you matchmen even though you know youre going to be catching decent carp always use a landing net that is clearly way too small ?
Believe it or not most commercial match landing nets are 22" upto 28" which are plenty big enough also as we don't use unhooking mats so it helps keep them safe and under control when your unhooking them with the net across your knees

Why was you standing up a lot today.regards Alan
So he could see the carp to drop a bait in front of them
@derekward692 once again another brilliant video of a master at work
