They are £400 per month pcp with 15,000miles I’m not sure if I can afford one but am going to try and figure it out... you will have one too some day! :)
I totally agree with you on the dials. I love tech, but there's just something about analog dials, just like analog watches. They just work and they look great.
8 months on since i watched your video on that beautiful purple 440i that made me buy a black Gran Coupe 440i with the power and sound kit. It is ridiculously loud now and its a shame you didnt get to floor this car as the kickdown is seriously addictive! In love with my car!
That color is awesome! If you want a lighter version, the normal coupe weighs at least 100kg less. (Not quite sure about the RWD version, but the 440i xDrive weighs in at 1685 kg).
MPPSK (M Power and Performance Sound Kit) doesn't have just the MPE. It's a full valved sports exhaust system, it's epic. I am pretty sure that the X3 M40i is a stock B58 with the MPPSK.
Great video and commentary! Your enthusiasm for the vehicle helps validate my sight-unseen selection of a very similar build (no Motech mods, Azurite Black instead of Grigio Telesto, upgraded Merino leather interior, 20" M Perf Style 405 rims, and full digital instrument cluster instead of analog dials). Due to arrive at my dealership next week! First BMW too!
My 340i got totaled and I’m looking into a 440i GC might go bm3 right away I kept my full AWE exhaust so o can’t wait just looking for the right spec to pop up!
I reckon you, Tony and Motech could be onto something big here. These OEM+ performance-enhancing packages which preserve the standard warranties could sell massively well if they were advertised alongside cars in dealerships. However, what happened at 1:45? Did you 'backfire'?!
Haha there was a building site behind those trees, I had to re do that piece about 5 times because they kept hammering stuff the min I started talking....
I just don’t understand why some of the M performance parts are carbon fiber (rear and front spoiler), others are satin black (side splits and rear diffuser) and the kidney grills are gloss black. I wonder why the finishing isn’t uniform on all accessories. This is supposed to be like this from factory? Anyway, the car looks amazing. Great job on the review as well.
I'm actually thinking of swapping my 435d GC for one of these. I'd love to know if the difference in torque is noticeable between them. I think the 440i is less even with the remap!
It will be interesting... The 440i will be more nimble because I'm guessing it's 50 odd it lighter and rwd. On paper a remapped 440i will be quicker than a standard 435d, but in reality It won't feel miles quicker... The 440i will obviously sound better and like to rev more 👌
Going from a 430d to a 440i MPPSK i didn’t notice any difference in torque but I suspect from a 435d you will notice it. What I will day is that the torque starts early which is great from a petrol engine but what really stands out is the higher rev range (the 440i pulls hard towards the higher redline) and the noise - in my experience the noise in BMWs diesels is all from the front, in the petrol, the noise is all from the back. I loved the 430d but I wouldn’t go back. 435d xdrive must be epic but it won’t sound as good as the 440i. Hope that helps.
@@JoeAchilles1 I know mate, but the car's you drive even for a hobby are incredible & the places you get to drive them breath taking, it's great we all get to share the experience, on another note I picked up the alpine White M140i Shadow edition tonight.. completely blown me away.. such a nice car & the power of that B58 is incredible.. I can see why you love them so much 👍🏻 trying to convince the misses now on a P/H/Tour 😁
That's the exact same model with carbon fiber trim package that I'm going to buy tomorrow. Test drove it this afternoon and it's badass. The paddle shifter is awesome so much power. The one I'm buying is $39,000 with 21,000 miles and in perfect condition. It's super low to the ground so I have to angle it over speed bumps to avoid ripping the front carbon fiber bumper off. The exhaust is loud 🔊📢 my 2 friends were riding in the back while I was test driving it and they said it was really loud. For the condition of the car it's worth it although I could buy a brand new vehicle for the same price. But it's a BMW so you're buying a top quality car. But if it breaks down the cost is expensive and the dealership is 100 miles away from me on the other side of the Island 🏝️ of Hawaii that I live on. I'm a mechanic and work at a construction company but this car looks totally complicated to work on. The battery I don't even know where it's located and the belts are in a tight place between the radiator. I've got a lot to think about as I sleep tonight.
Hey Joe, love your videos! Your review of the X3 m40i was great and im thinking of getting one. What do u and Tony think of this grigio telesto colour on a X3 m40i? Would it suit the car, or some similar colour? Cheers
Guys, if you like this car and feel you could be in the market for one (probably for this exact model) go to BabyBMW forum and look at the deal TRL has on this. I think you’ll be surprised how affordable this car can be when dealing with Tony directly. Edit ** apologies Joe, I typed this before reading your description in the video - still, my comment stands **
Great video as always, lovely car. Not sure if it has been explained before, but how does the warranty with motech work? Is it just covered by the selected dealership who has done it?
Hi Joe! Please please please can you source a car with the MPPSK (M performance power and sound kit) that you CAN actually give a good thrashing to, and compare it with a stock model? I'd be keen to know your opinion on it. Does the power bump and remap (and sound) match that of the X3M40i for example?
Yeah I will try mate, to me this definitely didn't quite feel as mighty as the X3 M40i, and that weighs more which confuses me... I really think the B58 in the X3 must be pushing 400 odd bhp
If it’s any help, I went from a stock 335i to a 340i with the m performance power and sound kit. The extra torque and 50 odd bhp made it any animal compared. Although I’ve not got it now, there is some cross reference vids on my channel of the 335i vs 340i mppsk around cadwell Park. The mppsk equipped car was 5 seconds a lap quicker in my untrained hands.
Haha funnily enough I've seen some of your vids already! I'm a fast estate man too - considering a 340i much like yours, with M Performance body kit bits (but I'd change the wheels from the stock 19s). Will check our your Cadwell Park vid!
Can you blag a 440i mppsk coupe from Tony and review it? Would love to know if it can compare with the M240i/M140i in terms of fun as i know the coupe weighs about 150kg less than the Gran Coupe.
Definitely wasn't a review, my 440i GC review is in the description as I said. Tony told me about the car, i filmed it in return for a shout out. They scratch my back, I scratch theirs... That's how much of UA-cam works. Cheers
I have a 340i, you mentioned in the video that the car was returning high 30's mpg. I do like to drive my car in the right conditions, but on the whole it's driven like an every day car. Have BMW improved the fuel consumption even more in 2 years? I've only managed to get a 33.1 return in my car, I'm not moaning still outstanding. Excellent return for what is a fast car when the road permits.
Do you find the handling better in the LCI? I have a 2016 430d Gran Coupe and it's very wallowy. Slightly more noticeable since I ditched the runflats for Michelin Pilot Sport 4s
Would be great to see a F series 440i or 340i with mppsk and an S4/5 or C43 in a comparison. There’s a German comparison in the OEM BMW MPPSK favour over the others but we need more in English. 😂😂 With the pandemic on, it’s still difficult to get new cars and these F36 beasts make a great proposition if specced correctly.
Joe how did they pass the m sport sound package, as you know all the regs changed in the UK, and i have tried to get the sports exhaust installed but cant due to the crapy gov regs....
Does anyone not think when they buy these cars. Why didn't I just buy the m4/m3? The moment one goes past I just know that thought would be there. It would for me at least anyway
You can't buy a full fat M gran Coupe, also spec for spec a M3 equivilant would be circa £20k more. Lastly the M3 and M4 couldn't dream of offering the same ride quality. Drive them all and then make judgement. Cheers
That is honestly my dream car, hope I will be able to afford one one day
Chris hopefully one day your dream comes true mate 👊🏼

Absolutely!
Hey
I tottally agree with you: analog instruments are way better than the digital display!
