A big fault with the current Kindle software is not being able to actually remove a book from the home page back to the library, and not have it showing on the home page. This can be done on the Kindle App for the iPhone & iPad. I don't like all the clutter of books I have purchased but not read on the home page screens of my actual Kindle and Scribe.

    Fantastic review. Thank you.
I was debating with myself between the Scribe and the Remarkable 2, and based on this review, I think that the Scribe seems like the way to go for my usages. I tried the Remarkable at a store, and it's really nice, but I do read a lot, and the Scribe seems to be a better option to replace my PaperWhite.

Thanks for the video. A great overview and the 20% trade made it much easier for me to press the buy button! I've been looking at one of these to replace my Kindle Voyager for a while, but wasn't sure it was worth the ~£350 RRP. Amazon had a limited time deal for £259 (16GB) which was tempting me, but your video got me to search for the trade-in offer. I've traded in my partners old Kindle (she can have my Voyager) for £10 and then saved 20% off the already discounted price, so decided to bump up to the 32GB model for £213.99!

Got mine for RPG books and Sudoku, lol. I've just stopped using my old 6 inch ebook to read and use this. It still doesn't weigh as much as a novel and when the layout is changed to side by side pages in landscape it requires less page turns. Well, 50%. I thought I wouldn't want a larger eink reader because, like other said, it is too heavy and unwieldy but still it's still smaller and lighter than a lot of books. I've read a few books on mine so far and even bought the complete collection of Jeff Smith's Bone for 20 bucks and am loving it. I still wish it was color but color eink needs more work.

May I ask why if it is possible to duplicate the screen on a TV, so you can show your sketches to an audience in real time ? In my field, I get clients everyday that need drawings to understand the (somewhat intricated) explanations I must give them. And since no clients are alike, I can’t just have a generic PowerPoint ready for these situations. Plus, drawings are a good way to keep the clients focused. So, if this were a possibility, I would definitely be interested. Thanks for the help.

It´s an amazing device and the best e reader I've owned, but it is extremely fragile. One accidental drop and the screen is gone. Amazon refuses to repair it even if you pay for it. I am back to my Paperrwhite 2013, which has suffered many falls and it´s still working as if it was still 2013. The problem is now the screen looks miniscule, I am thinking on buying a Inkpad Lite. Ive thought the same thing and tried several alternatives since I bought my first Kindle in 2009. But I always return. Others offer a better UI, some offer nicer hardware. Many offer more freedom and flexibility. But NONE come remotely close to the Amazon Kindle ecosystem, that’s the rub. If you don’t mind using multiple e-book stores to try and find what you’re looking for, questionable support from companies based primarily in China (or Russia, in the case of Pocketbook) and you’re adventurous about sideloading and maybe pirating some ebooks and tweaking settings to your heart’s delight, then i heartily recommend jumping ship.
But anyone who is looking for an e-reader/tablet that “just works” and has every book available you can think of in one place, U.S. based support and the confidence the company and product will be around for many years to come, well, the Amazon Kindle is by far the best option for now. l have a love-hate relationship with Amazon like many people, but I’m too old and tired to play activist with my purchases decisions at this point. I just want a device I can trust 100% with a solid, established ecosystem. That’s what the Kindle offers.

@@drl7384 I wish the Scribe had more functionalities like the Kindle app. Even a feature that can satisfy both version of the Kindle 'app' the simple Kindle OS and the Kindle App on phone. On the scribe if I wanted to share a quote with my bookclub....I have to hit "share" and send as an...umm...email? Like....what? Lol I don't know. It seems like it should do MORE. The software is just soooo lacking.

@@TheEndisnear00 how so? I wish they paid me 😛. I just want to be able to do A LOT more with my reading device. The Kindle app does a ton more then the actual kindle devices with it comes to sharing it. How I wish I can just share quotes or paragraphs with freinds. Or write on pdfs and it not be a slow process. Etc. And I have two kindles. The paperwhite (waterproof one) and the scribe. And bought two extras for my mom and sister. E-ink devices need to be BETTER. Period.
