I think not all states. Some require all motor vessels have native or local registration. Some have a length or hp size exemption. Some exempt foreign dinks if they are identified as "tender to...". Not certain if FWC was right for a foreign tender, but the law needs to be checked in every state. Nav lights, pfd for baby, MANY REGS to comply with in EACH state, guys. Many do not give warning$$$.
A! The wife and I live aboard our sailboat in Annapolis after returning from Bahamas last year. We are veterans of the boat show and would be happy to help arrange a venue for a meetup etc. The boat Outremer had in the show last year was a beaut! Very cool that LV will be here this time. Cheers!

Sailed from Australia quite a few years ago via the Southern Ocean and ended up at the same mooring by the bridge in Fort Lauderdale. Got stopped by the coast guard just out of Fort Lauderdale. They boarded with hand guns shot guns bullet proof vests helmets and their boat was like 200 ft long. It was great got lots of photo's. Love Lenny keep it up.

57koop I don’t know what to think about being “respectful”. These guys with loaded guns come charging up and demand that you have the correct numbers, in other words pay for the privilege of navigating on the Kings waters. And, like a dutiful peasant, Riley says “thank you, that’s reasonable”. How brainwashed are we to think that’s ok?
57koop it would be a great service if government, government officials, government enforcers and the legislation they enforce would stick to the bounds set for them by our constitution. In other words they protect our rights, safeguard our liberties and nothing else. They are not there to play sheriff of Nottingham running around hassling and sucking fines and fees out of the people like a parasite as people go about there own business. Our ancestors didn't put up with it when they were required to have the proper stamp on their property - they put an end to that nonsense right quick. But we just roll over when we're required to have the proper numbers stamped on our boats "yes sir, thank you sir, you are so reasonable..." It's actually pathetic what we allow to be done to us.
Yebo Screbo You do make some very good points and I understand how you feel government has gotten out of control! Yes it does aggravate me when I get pulled over for silly stuff I think the point I was just trying to make is that when you are respectful they show respect in return they are doing a job and although I agree with you it is what it is! thank you for your comments it does make you think
Yebo, to add to your comment it’s so funny because when we were younger my wife was a very good looking woman and one time I got pulled over three times in one day by law-enforcement all googling my wife and my friends wife! I always had to chuckle but now that were in our 60s we don’t get pulled over anymore! I thought you might enjoy that one talk about not having numbers? Let’s talk about just wearing bikinis

Fun to watch. I grew up off LasOlas back in the day. Lots of history in this area. Glad you enjoyed it. We live about 10 miles north in Pompano Beach on a canal.
you all anchored in the cove off Las Oles blvd bridge I used that mooring in 66-67 for my homemade boat. Hurricane Betsy broke the mooring connection and drove her ashore, there was no seawall on the west side. Most of those moorings were set with chain strung through old car engine blocks. Have a great trip keep sailing and you have a beautiful baby.

My wife and I did canal "cruise" back in 1998 on our honeymoon - it's amazing the beautiful houses hidden by the massive yachts in the canal... You guys are a lot of fun. All the best with the new bun in the oven. Ciao from North Miami Beach Florida. I grew up on a 63 foot drift fishing boat that my father owned after he stopped flying with Pan-American airlines for 16 years. He took passengers out just fishing off of Hall over Beach and they were times we would go 25 miles out and I always love catching the Schooleys the little dolphins and reeled in a 50 pound barracuda when I was six years old. But he was from Gloucester Massachusetts so they are heavy duty fisherman and I miss fishing so Much. All the best on the new boat and stay safe.

A for Annapolis! My husband and I have been binge watching your videos over the last six months. You guys are awesome and we’d love to meet you!!! We’re about 2 hours out of Annapolis, on the eastern shore of Maryland.
I saw a few SLV stickers at the Seattle boat show. Annapolis is a bit far from here. Come to Seattle in 2020! I feel guilty I have not done it already, off to finally sign on as a Patreon. You guys are legends.
i used to be jelly about the adventures you guys go on, but now, as we are both dads now, I am more jelly at the cool family videos Lenny will be able to watch later on in life.
Ice cold pickles are the trick for teething, just lay him face down like you do, let chew and change often. Please take video of first taste of pickle. LOL :) peace
My dad used to help organize parts of the Annapolis boat show. The city is beautiful the food is great. Be sure to check out the naval academy. If I still lived in Maryland I would definitely be there.
I don’t understand what they were asking him for? Are they saying that they want him to display the registration number of the mothership on the tender? In the UK we mark tenders “T/T mothership_name”. We would never put the yachts number on the tender.
So here in Florida you must have a vehicle registration on anything with a motor including tenders (that’s probably all over the USA but I sail mainly in Florida) the marine patrol will look for all markings that relate to that. But in the case of a foreign registered vessel the tender will be able to get by with the larger vessel name and a copy of The COD plus all safety items. Although the FWC is a humorless organization usually they allow common sense to rule but they will not forgive any alcohol use or drug possession. And they do nothing but boarding all day
Well done the two of you, nice family, the boat show is a good idea I have a used sailboat would love to see what the new ones have to offer, and a bonus get to meet you guys.
The canal homes in Fort Lauderdale are all multi-million dollar homes. The West Coast of Florida has many communities with canals too. The price point of some of the homes there are priced for a normal person. You can get 100' of sailboat canal frontage with no locks or bridges to the Gulf in the upper $200k. The sailing's great too. SLV come see us!!!!!!!
That was a nice water police encounter! We were always rowing while in the states so we never had to deal with registration issues. Now that we have an outboard, I'll need to remember to paint some numbers on the dinghy when we make it back to the states!
A ... for annapolis (in October I presume) gonna second the recommendation to spend a night in solomon's Island (mouth of patuxent river) on way up the Chesapeake. You have fans here.

Don't worry I am sure they mean the one in October. Supposedly it's the biggest in the world. I've been there a few times and it is pretty awesome. I hope they make it! The tickets aren't bad either:
@@cofferchan ticket prices are 18 per day in advance, 20 day of show and 31 for 2 days pass. Boat US usually runs a buy one get one free if you are a member
A The three of us were already going and now we wouldn’t miss it for the world. Super excited. Also as you said you might. Come cruise up in Maine with us this summer! Sv Marytime. Cheers!!
Beautiful people, beautiful canal, and thanks for the views!
When you have a good partner, kids are a blessing. It is a grand adventure. I wish more people knew this. I was thirty when we had our first kid. I only wish we started earlier.

Not from the Annapolis boat show, but I am from (and live in) the Annapolis area!
You guys are great!! What a nice family you all are. Lenny is cool! Keep on sailing.
On your way back up the East Coast make sure to stop by the Outer Banks in North Carolina to show Lenny the wild horses that live on the beach!
Great video, I try to watch them but get behind, Lenny looks like a great kid sailor who will take to the water with ease. Keep the videos coming! Peace & the good winds to your back!
Hey Guys and Lenny! You should sail down the st lawrence. See montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, the Great lakes all the way up to Superior! Have you sailed on fresh water?
If you are going to make it over to Washington D.C. you have fans here too. Happy to show you around some of the sites, although many show themselves. Cheers.
See if you still feel the same way when LENNY is starting to walk. Love you guys !!! 😀 Hope to see you in California one day ??
I think it's absolutely awesome that Lenny can not only look back at his formative years on the boat but even BEFORE that, all the way back to his parents meeting... Incredible gift for him.
I love this family .. amazing living on a boat. God bless guys
A for Annapolis! My husband and I have been binge watching your videos over the last six months. You guys are awesome and we’d love to meet you!!! We’re about 2 hours out of Annapolis, on the eastern shore of Maryland.
A. We live in Annapolis and go to the National Sailboat Show every October. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Kip Canavan I beg Your excited
I live near Annapolis, I'd love to come to the boat show and meet you guys!! A tour of La Vagabonde would be awesome!
Better get that Australian registration on the dinghy "OZZI-010101"
0ZZ1-X3-OI-01-OI? ;-)
@@jstoebbe 😂😂😂👍🏻
I live in Annapolis, so I would love to meet you guys for sure. You are welcome to stay with us, 5 minutes from the City dock.
Omg FWC gave you a warning !!! No way they bore me every chance they get ! You were lucky 🍀
Ya, my mom got a canal waterfront home in Newport Richie for pretty dang cheap.
A for Annapolis....our catamaran is docked there and we'll be there with our two little ones 3 and 6 months...can't wait to meet up with you guys!
A! Hoping to meet you in Annapolis! Love your channel guys, keep it up! :)
That was a nice water police encounter! We were always rowing while in the states so we never had to deal with registration issues. Now that we have an outboard, I'll need to remember to paint some numbers on the dinghy when we make it back to the states!
I love seeing this notification! Your episodes always brighten my days

... for annapolis (in October I presume) gonna second the recommendation to spend a night in solomon's Island (mouth of patuxent river) on way up the Chesapeake. You have fans here.
on the way up the Chesapeake you must stop in Solomons Island md (zahniser's marina) you won't regret it
Edward Ryan we live near the Adirondacks in NYS but have done all of our sail training at Sail Solomons at Zahniser’s.
Another perfect example of how fun you 3 are to gather. Sailing la vagabond one of the best sailing family's out there .from Steve stott in sutherlin Oregon u.s.a.
Always have PFDs onboard your dink, and Lenny in a lifejacket. You were lucky to just get a warning from the FWC. They don't have the best reputation among Florida boaters.
