Shalz, you don't have to dissassemble a train just to import/export items on a train, you can just attach a "Vault" and "Portable Storage Interface from Create itself.
You can vary the loading/unloading items from the train by either extracting or putting items from the portable storage interface on the world (or train station) by funnels and such. Take a look at the "ponder" view of the Portable Storage Interface, it'll tell you that even a moving contraption (i.e. train) can be accessed by that block.
And, you can use filters on create smart chute or funnels to only get specific items from the trains vault! 😁

Personally, I would love to make a crane that grabs a vault from a carriage and drops it in a depot like a cargo container. Would look way more impressive than Portable Storage Interface. Can't do that with an assembled train though.

If you did 100 days in survival create, I would watch it religiously. You could release an episode a day, and I would be here every single day watching that episode.

100 days are getting old, i would rather watch a series in an episode format, i prefer the raw commentary over the aftermath commentary

The fact you can automatically disassemble trains makes me want to make flatbeds that can be loaded by pushing blocks onto them, or by dropping entire containers on them

i use that all the time, and it LOOKS COOL TOO (at least in my opinion)
@@Robododobobo Probably because they _are_ more expensive - I can't remember exactly what the recipe is (it's changed at least once, I don't use them, and I'm currently focusing on C:A&B anyway) but if memory serves it involves two shafts and an andesite casing (and I think it also involves two iron nuggets) to craft just two encased chain drives - that means that just to move power vertically with chain drives needs two shafts and an andesite casing PER TWO BLOCKS, while using a belt needs two shafts and one belt to go any distance within the maximum belt length.
I really wanna see a survival SMP with create and the addons! Cannot wait for funky stuff happening

6:46 since that works, you could make it a ride for the themepark and its like a little closed bus on top and that is mirrored to the bottom and connect them with stairs and put windows on it. its like the upper half is in an overworld themed tunnel and the lower half is in a nether themed tunnel if that makes sense.

Couldn't you also just use these portable storage interfaces to utilize chests in cargo trains? I mean, it would kinda work the same, wouldn't it, or am i missing something right here
Yes thats the way it is working
I think the main point is that you could unload entire assemblies from trains. Also if you can pull the whole container off, you could put chutes on every underside location of a vault, which probably unloads a lot faster than a PSI
It would, you can also use the filters for smart chutes to only get specific items from the train.
The example that Shalz gave wasn't great, as you can absolutely do that with the portable storage interfaces - what you can't do with the storage interfaces (and I've been wanting to do for as long as Create Trains have been a thing) is have a train arrive, followed by the entire storage unit being physically lifted off the train using a crane - potentially followed by a different storage unit for a different type of cargo being placed on it.
It'll also allow people to make psudo-train lifts, where the train arrives, gets disassembled, gets lifted up (without the tracks) onto a different track, and then re-assembled.

I would definitely be interested in a survival create series, it's a fun experience to try to start all of the logistics from scratch
i wonder if you could use above and below bogeys on the same train in order to make one that's both a passenger train and an automated resource gathering/depositing train? if you made the top bogeys for passengers, i bet you could hide the automated stuff below, too. i bet you could even disguise it pretty well as a regular train if it was on regular train tracks!
That depends on if it is not changed.
5:48 that was already a thing, there was a specific block to connect the train to a loading/unloading system, without having to assemble/disassemble the train.
Yeah, auto-(dis)assembly is more for if you want your automatic cargo system to include cranes adding and removing entire storage modules - for example if I wanted to have a cargo train that picked up an entire vault, moved it to a different station, dropped off that vault, picked up some fluid tanks in the same location, and brought them back to the previous station.
...which _may_ be something I've been wanting to be able do ever since I found out about 0.5's trains.
Survival create would be so good, create has some addons for other mods like farmers delight aswell so mods other than create and its addons will also add a lot

'You could even create a Create mod system where it builds trains for you and store them in a warehouse sized multi layered loading bay with a working lift to save time on creating trains...
And also I think it would be satisfying to watch a gigantic automated robot that builds out every segment of the train before finally piecing it all together and little helpers which gets deployed onto the seat of the train before the final piece gets placed.
You could even create a blueprint and feed the machine the materials and sit back as you watch it all being put together before your eyes...

I’ve never heard of the anti-vertical belt stuff, I use belts constantly to move rotation in survival
Also I started using (1:50) because of you and It's been way more helpful in my opinion, at least in survival because of my kelp farm, you can angle them more in a compact space compared to cogs and the shaft belt blocks

The hate for belts transferring power comes from older create versions. Belts used to consume some of your rotational capacity.
one could make a monorail system with passengers at the top and cargo at the bottom, and then there could be farms in factories with the itmes getting delivered to the trainstations and while passengerd boarf at the top, under them items get taken in and out of storage bays at the bottom via assembly lines or something

It would be pretty cool to see a create survival series, and it would help me personally to learn how to use more create stuff. As I don't really enjoy playing creative mode, and the mod works so differently in survival.

Shalz, you can encase a mechanical belt with andesite or brass casings. Might look better in the railroad crossing.

The encased belt does exactly the same as using a belt but it doesn’t take any stress unit
Hey shalz, at 4:52, you show how you can automatically disassemble a train so that you can add stuff to it, however this is not really a smart way do do things as 1) you can't automatically use super glue, and 2) you can empty and fill all containers on a train using portable storage interfaces as with all create entities.
However, if you do need to change a train on the fly, which usually in not needed if built well, you can use the block that you couldn't figure out as that block's whole purpose is to connect and disconnect different train carriages automatically, this also does give me an interesting idea for athletics, as you might be able to have overlapping blocks on your train if done right, so the transition between cars would be smoother on a turn.
Honestly it's so much better when UA-camrs post ten minute videos every couple of weeks like this.

A survival series With friends would be cool so you could make trains go from one another and have multiple projects happening at a time. And you could prank the others.

Yes, please do survival! I feel like it always brings out the most creativity from me having to actually design things to solve problems.
When there’s a Chest you can hook it up to a portable storage interface which if you have a chest on the train and you know where the train will stop and the chest it will use the interface and put the items in that chest so you don’t have to do all that complicated stuff

Would love to see survival create, especially with some other industrial/highly advanced mods like Applied Energistics 2 and/or Thermal Foundation (and other Thermal Series mods). Maybe even Alchemistry or Ender IO or something
They may hate it but I use it for power also. I find it easy for what I need sometimes.

yeah, I don't understand it either why people hate using the belts for something other than transporting items. I use it to transport rotation. It's just cheaper then cogs.
