Yet again, an undeniably impressive product that demonstrates the Law of Diminishing Returns. Is it twice as good as my $1K Roland VR-09? Absolutely. Is it *four times as good* as my $1K VR-09? Absolutely not. The inevitable problem with this kind of price point is that you're ether A) A hobbyist player with a Doctor/Lawyer day gig who can afford such a prohibitive price, or B) an A-List touring pro who's getting endorsement deals already. For a gigging player in a regional functions band who actually buys their gear from their modest income (myself + the vast majority of players), this thing is simply out of reach...
What kind of speaker/sound system are you running the kybd through ? Most modern keyboards sound great.....on headphones or built in speakers. But when they go through an amp of some kind.....in my experience it can make a 5k unit sound like a Bontempi organ....
Great demo. The best hardware piano I have heard so far. Even better than kronos and Kawai MP11, MP11se, but it still can't beat spectrasonic keyscape, but then we are talking about another area (software pianos).
Yes, but there’s no need to. The VIVO S9 also has the COMBO J7 sound engine as well. All tones are also downloadable from the Dexibell website. And all tones are transferable from one Dexibell to another via USB also.
Thank you. I'm going to do away with all my Roland, Kurzweil, and Yamaha keyboards and go with one S9 in my studio. it's all I need.I'm keeping the J7 for live shows.
Hey Sweetwater as a piano player I want to start recording my ideas and hopefully work on making them into songs.. would you be kind enough to recommend me a digital keyboard/piano I should look at. I'm interested in something with full size keys and the keys are my main priority.. I want something I can also perform with not only for the studio, something I can change the sound to my liking.. (unlike a regular digital piano.) Under $1000 any recommendations would be really appreciated! Thank you!
Hi, Eli! Thanks for your interest. There are a lot of options out there, and I'd love to speak with you directly to narrow down the choices. My contact info is below. In the meantime, here are links to a couple of my favorite digital pianos under $1,000. Let me know if there would be a good time for us to speak in the next few days! www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DGX660BK www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PXS3000BK Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com
I've had a combo J7 for almost a year and they've held up pretty well with no problems. I had to buy it from another store because Sweetwater didn't carry Dexibell at the time.. I don't have to touch them, they move on their own. Now I don't have to shop anywhere else for my next Dexibell keyboard.
Jacques Mertens The entire ‘tonewheel’ engine, particularly the Leslie sim, is the Achilles heal of this otherwise excellent instrument. Since it doesn’t make sense to play organ on a piano keybed anyway, they should have dropped it and make the S9 cheaper.
Actually,it kinda hurts your fingers trying to play "organ style" on a fully weighted keyboard. That's why I purchased the Combo J7 for organ ,wind instrument, and synth sounds.
NURREDIN Exactly. However, this doesn’t heal Dexibell’s clonewheel sound problem. I bought a much cheaper (1,090 €) Viscount Legend Solo besides various synths, and I’m quite satisfied.
Rayy‘s Musikladen you don’t like the samples they made of a real organ? Is it just a problem for you or did you find some inherent defect in the samples that would make everyone call it a problem?
considering the market scenario, I would rather go for Nord stage.. not because dexibell is inferior to Nord. As a customer who is willing to spend 3k $ on a stage piano, I wud rather prefer a well known brand than choosing a brand that is newer in the market.
Nord started out of the blue, so to speak. And they've raised a lot of reputation. I have no doubt that Dexibell soon will outperform Nord. The Dexibell's piano and strings already sound light years ahead any Nord. And with this instrument alone, Dexibell has put way more features that any future Nord model can only dream about. Dexibell in the future will be as Nord today.
Wouldn't it have been more beneficial for everyone (except this guy maybe) to get a professional keyboardist, especially for an instrument as expensive as this?
If you had ever seen any other Dexibell videos by this guy, you would already know how excellent he is as a player. He is very knowledgeable about the instrument as well and I'm sure it's cheaper for a small company like Dexibell to use his exceptional talent rather than hiring some overpaid famous person.
Seriously? He's MORE than adequate to demo and advertise this keyboard. Especially as no concert pianists would be using this thing for playing with a philharmonic orchestra or anything. Would agree the price is a bit steep though.
Danke, Ralph - you've alwas been the best in expressing things like this kinds. Love it!

Why my Dexibell doesn’t sent audio back through USB cable?

You should follow the Studiologic example and create a channel with lots of tutorial videos!
Excellent playing!

Listen, great player and product. But where is Erskin?
Fear to the motorized drawbars, Nord, fear...
Why is there so many electric keyboards coming out or has it always been like this
To expensive? LoL - Try to buy one of these in Brazil! You have to save 43 months of an entire minimum salary. 43 months!!!!!
Can I xfer downloaded sounds from the Combo J7 to the S9?

sounds kinda boxed in. would ratehr get a fantom 8
That’s how acoustic pianos sound at least some of them
too expensive man
I think for the money i would just buy a Nord which has many more functions and sounds. Faders are nice but over kill really.
Those motorised faders don't look like they will last very long. This could easily be the achilles heel of the Vivo S9.

@@MrPonkine no, Nord is the best. In piano, organs and its synth vitual analogic include. Dexibell is a great toy...but a toy.

why? he did a good job showing the sounds

Why is it that the clowns who always complain NEVER have any of their work uploaded? Please provide us some examples of your keyboard expertise.
