@@alexlambert5830 just ditch the playoffs and bring back the bloody year-round points system, I'll say. But instead of Winston Cup points format let's use the half-grid/partial-grid points system like in most of Euro-Anglo-centric motorsports series. Simply because I think that the Winston Cup points system has the aroma of "participation trophy" since it awards the points to anyone regardless of the finishing order.
Nascar just be sayin words at this point bruh

Oh yea thanks for the reminder!
I love night races. Idk what this new obsession with races being mid day is, but 10pm is probably a little too late 😂
When the 16 truck crashed, that was NASCAR way of saying "screw this, we're going home, we're done with this race".
Even NASCAR was annoyed by it by looking at it because they do not throw the caution for Tyler Ankrum hitting the wall in turns 3 and 4. They were pretty much like, “aight this is stupid. Let them race…”
By the time this race was over, Denny Hamlin won a championship
😂😂
Yep 😂😂😂

@@RazorSharp75426 I think the concept of "NASCAR overtime" is just as bad, if not worse. Look at how much equipment got destroyed during these overtime restarts and how tedious the cycle got.
Personally, I believe NASCAR would be far better off just running to the scheduled distance and abandoning overtime altogether.
Was this race the Craftsman 150? Or was it the Vickernism 150? I’m confused.

that photo of the flagman just hunched over summed up the championship race in a nutshell.
flagman was literally like "dude get me the fuck out of here"
I have to give a lot of respect to Grant Enfinger. He could have bumped Rhodes at the end and taken the championship. He didn't. Grant raced him cleanly.
Grant choked it away actually. He had momentum, went high and could've made an outside pass and photo finish for the championship. Buuuuuuuut, he decided to hit the brakes and wave his white flag.
"That was worth the wait."
Buddy, this was the reason NASCAR needs to stop trying to recreate 1992.
Why are they trying to re-create 1992?
@TheYusuf75 there was like 8 people that could've won the championship that season, it was quite littlerally historical for the sport.

Imagine James Hunt calling this race from the booth as driver analyst..... Expect rapid fire F-bombs on live TV when he utters his opinions on each carnage this race has.
Murray would’ve been like: “oh dear, now they have collected each other again! This is fantastic!” (fantastic being used as a way to show disbelief)
@@alexotero7105 yup. But just imagining James called the race with Mike Joy..... what would it be like?
Or David Hobbs!
@@RazorSharp75426 well, I think Mike would have taken Murray’s place in the pairing, considering Mike’s usual serious on the job approach with the eventual quick remark. I think they would’ve had similar chemistry than the one James had with Murray on the booth, but god almighty FOX would have to age rate the emissions of the races with how savage James was😅. Honestly, Hunt would have a field day every single race he called.
On another note, considering the puns Mike sometimes throws at FOX, if we add James Hunt to that equation, we’re not talking about renovating the format. It’d be a goddamn revolution in a Cuban style (with the homeboy being Mike and James being the outside helper with sympathies) in which the commentators would rally the fans and initiate a new golden era for NASCAR😂
Man, I wish Murray and James were still around. Well, at least we have Martin Brundle🤷🏻♂️ (that’s the one I like the most from the F1 English commentators)
@@chada75 oh boy, David would be so confused at what was transpiring, but he’d absolutely try his best to keep the fans interested!

Yeah… 🤐
Trucks is officially ARCA 2.0
Basically what happens when you give room/channels for sim-cade addicts to go pro racing. As demonstrated in this race everyone kinda raced like stereotypical sim-cade rammers found on online lobbies. Rubbing is racing, yeah. But at least know the time to do it.
And anyways, screw Darren Cox for that.
The photo of the flagman will forever be a meme of what the truck series has become! Well, that and Grant Enfinger looking like he's about ready to kill someone!
A 10pm Eastern start time with two-no, three-sorry, FOUR GWC overtimes, a 10 minute red flag, title contenders acting like the brattiest ARCA brats, and the Fox crew just begging to go home with the coverage on until 1:10 in the damn morning. The perfect worst race.

Reason number 1 for full season points in the lower series:
That wasn't even a Championship race in my eyes. It was a disgrace.
It was a gay orgy but with stock pickup trucks
Carson still needs to learn went to be agressive, atleast he took the blame as for Heim.
The main reason this shit show happend is because the finale is a single race.
Carson was still acting just to save face and you people still fell for it.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworldNo I believe that Carson was genuine, he got flustered on the restart and dropped a lot of spots from hitting Corey. At this point he’s like a young Kyle Busch, incredibly fast but has a lot to learn.
this race reminded me why im happy i dont have any hard favorite drivers. That race was one hell of a show when you didnt care who won
No, it was painful. Stupid that it started at 10:00 pm. Still should have been over at midnight. 1:00 am I'm yelling at my tv stop wrecking each other you stupid sons of bitches!
Even Tony Stewart mentioned about the Truck fiasco after the Xfinity race. And noticed that Josh Bilicki's comment is very similar to Mike Joy's comment in the All-Star Race.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the Truck Series and the action it brings, but I think those younger drivers need a complete overhaul in how to race each other with respect. Maybe they could learn how to do so themselves or the veteran drivers help them.
Yes. Matt "The Punch" Crafton sets such a great example!
@@GrandpaShark I was mostly referring towards the Cup veterans.
Tbh the xfinity races are often pretty much as messy, then you watch the cup race and it's often clean af, really shows the difference
This reminds me of the 1st cup race at Texas…..
That was just wreck, after wreck
So my uncle had season tickets at Phoenix. We spent the championship weekend at this track. And holy cow did the fans get so restless and impatient. We all wanted this race to end so badly.
I was at that race, I was just mad because I wanted to go home but I couldn’t because I wanted to see if my favorite driver Grant Enfinger would win the championship. Disappointed that I had to witness all that chaos.
The race time confuse me because I don't get why in the world they want to do that at 10:00 while they had like all day to even do that
Same like the Xfinity race started earlier than the truck series race. I guess they just wanted a full night race.
Long story short, FS1 was scheduled to air SmackDown in the event of Game 6 of the World Series on FOX.
However, the Rangers won in 5 and NASCAR chose to not move up the race despite the freely available airtime.
Championship implications for the flag man 😢
Now I want to ask everyone including you Darian.
After a race like that do you think it's time to start begging and pleading to NASCAR to get rid of the format?
Because to make matters worse Ben Rhodes was the least deserving out of the four drivers to win the championship.
This is what the points would've been if it was the old fashioned way (Full season points system).
1 Corey Heim 928
2 Christian Eckes 817 -111
3 Grant Enfinger 803 -125
4 Carson Hocevar 776 -152
5 Ben Rhodes 766 -162
6 Ty Majeski 746 -182
7 Zane Smith 735 -193
8 Nick Sanchez 706 -222
9 Matt Crafton 614 -314
10 Chase Purdy 582 -346
The points system used was more the matter imo
As an Eckes fan, this makes me feel a little bit better.
@@superninjaracer9971 He'll be up in cup one day, I can tell.
Here's one MAJOR problem:
With traditional points, Heim would've clinched with 3-4 races left. Look at F1 when the championship is clinched early. Nobody cares after the championship is won. The remaining 3 or 4 Truck Series races would have been empty houses attendance wise. It'd be similar to covid NASCAR where tracks were completely empty.
@Maverick33 F1 is an awful comparison. Because the racing in F1 is unequivocal SHIT lmao. IndyCar is a far better example. It looked like Palou would clinch very early but he started faltering and Scott Dixon almost did the Wixon. Instead of clinching with like 3 races left it came to the penultimate race. Not to mention indycar is fantastic racing.
And no, using the "people stop caring" excuse isn't valid either. Because the ratings continue to TANK in the nascar playoffs anyway. Get us back to full season points and some integrity.
Corey Heim literally altered the outcome of the championship.
I would still argue 2003 is close for the trucks. Ted Musgrave's owner enters a worthless entry to take out (maybe purposely) Brendan Gaughan, only to be penalized on the final restart and lose the championship to Travis Kvapil.
"JIMMY SMITH CAN KISS MY ASS."
"Zip! Zip it!"
I remember that line from one of friskynixon's NASCAR compilations
I will never forgive Heim on this night. Next Races I'm attending, I'm bringing my sign saying "Corey Heim screwed over Grant Enfinger's Championship!!!"
It was a totally classless move and I hope he never goes farther than trucks.
Carson*
Like I've said in WhatIf's video, it was a chore to cover and witness in person. I was so fucking done after the second overtime. More done than those three red flags in this year's Indy 500, which I was so over it after the second red flag!
The people who say this is a good race are the kind of people who eat water with their cereal
Or literally anyone who eat cereals for breakfast.
I Love Darian, Tells it like it is!!!!!
And to think this all started because Heim wanted revenge on Hocevar just for the sake of getting revenge (Hocevar was nowhere near a position to win the championship) and knew he had to get it in that race since Hocevar isn’t racing in the series next year.
Enfinger probably like: “man, I came back full time for THIS clown show? What have I done?…”
Me, my dad and a friend of his stayed up watching this until about 12:01 PM our local time and I was screaming at the top of my lungs 😂. It was like a freakin' demo derby
I love how he drops the trophy on his own head.
I didn’t stay up and wondered why my dvr recording of the race was so long when I watched it on Saturday. Thankfully I got to fast forward all the breaks in action.
you could probably file taxes and eat an entire dinner by the time it's over
Two words Demolition Derby
Oh god that race gave me fits of rage with me holding Rhodes to win the title and Zane to win the race.
Still think what Corey Heim did was the stupidest thing ever he could have just ran around for 3 laps and beaten hocevar in the race and for the championship but no
Carson deserved to have his shit dumped for once. He has always done this stuff and Heim won't be racing him next year as for some reason Carson is getting a promotion all the way to cup.
The race that made me say "F*** this, gimme a cold one, I'm binge watching that "Wayside" cartoon!"
Oh, and don't forget that Heim would get penalized and finish behind Hocevar in the standings. I guess he got the last laugh.
1:20 was the worst possible timing to show that replay, and it took way too long for the shot with the crash to go full screen
It was a total disgrace to motor sports.
Agreed. Watching Verstappen on a rampage this year was better tbh.
Nascar has put itself in a situation where a single bad race can completely void out anything interesting or even celebratory from an entire year's championship.
There's no talk that Ben clawed his way by the skin of his teeth through every elimination stage to win it all. There's no talk that Eckes tied Hocevar for wins on the season in the last race. Or that Garcia was one spot away from a first win.
A few things twisted one way or another. We were this close to having all 4 championship contenders wreck out with just a few laps to go.
But no one cares after that show. And that is a dangerous situation to be in.
6:47 why does Darian sound drunk? 💀
Yesh
NASCAR: “We have the best competitive races in the world”
Truck Drivers: “Let us fix that” 🤡🤡🤡
Why clown emojis instead of monkey emojis?
NASCAR, you're drunk. Go back to Florida.

Bro got jinxed💀🤡
Damn, I loved this race! These kind of races happen just often enough for me to really enjoy them! 😂
this is sooo similar to Hornaday vs Benson in 2008 when neither of them wanted the Championship
I remember Natalie Decker talking to Derek Kraus about how up north, kids were respectful but in North Carolina they just wreck each other like crazy. Winners get noticed, no matter how they do it. Look at Hocevar.
Its time to go back to the season long points format
I love the truck series, grew up pulling for hamilton and bodine every weekend, watched these races more than cup or busch, but this series is a joke lately
Looked more like the Livin’ la Vida Loca Destruction Derby 150 *SMFH*
This dumpster fire makes the 2022 Sharpie 500 at Bristol look like the 1998 Daytona 500 and is exactly why I stopped watching this division after 2021 and told my friend in the store about it 2 days after it happened by describing it as the CRASHMAN Truck Series so might as well call this race the *Crashman 150* while we’re at it 🤦♂️
I only watched ONE truck race this year, the North Wilkesboro race. This race was a reminder why I stopped caring about the Truck Series.
6:50 This sums it up lol
If this doesn’t prove that the playoffs system is an absolute warcrime against Nascar then idk what does.😂
Or motorsports in general
They don't need to decide a championship at a track that has room to be 7 or 8 wide. This track needs grass again or some turtles to keep people up on the track if this is where it has to be decided.
And also remember that they went to a commercial break when there were 10 laps to go. Come back from commercial break just to find out that 2 of the 4 contenders had crashed. I thought the crash was pretty cool considering that there were only 2 drivers who still had a chance but it pissed me off since Fox had a habit of being on a commercial break for the billionth time when a wreck happens.
And to think, a lot of that stupidity would’ve been avoided if only Corey Heim just didn’t heat-seek Carson Hocevar…….
With the type of race it turned out to be, it deserved every single ounce of backlash that it got, glad I ended up going to bed before this race.....
Glad I didn't watch it. A street race on highways with heavy Cop interference would be more exciting, and I'm all for going up all night long just to watch it.
Especially if the outlaw drove a yellow Lamborghini Diablo SV with batallions after batallions of civic cop cruisers, Apache choppers, Cop SUV, and flare-spitting fighter jets right on the tail of the outlaw.
By the time this race was over I’d have good WiFi for the first time in 7 years
Darian, I'd rather listen to FOX's coverage than hearing Dale Jr. just yelling "Slide job!" and Rick Allen saying "Prahblems on the race track" over and over.
Also, if you're upset with the 10 pm est start time for this race, then you probably lost it when the 2015 Coke Zero 400 at Daytona didn't start til 11:10 pm est and ended at almost 3 am est.
Zane Smith: *Granny shifts instead of double clutching like he should*
I normally don't care for Jamie Littles play by play commentary but she had a couple good calls. Like Hocevar spinning Heim and then the final lap call. But yeah this race was awful. And this was the first race my girlfriend watched with me. At least she picked Ben Rhodes
1:40 that’s why we need gus johnson or kevin burkhardt in the booth instead of jamie little.
I was expecting a video on my boy Hank Parker Jr., but I will take this because I definitely agree that the truck series finale is the worst finale I have ever seen.
