I see the B3 has two-layer Relikt on the sides.
1st layer 20mm against KE and 600mm against HEAT
2nd layer 200mm against KE and 600mm against HEAT

To summarise, it's basically a T80U with less mobility and a longer reload but with slightly more armour and gen 2 thermals instead of gen 1

Kind of, I still prefer the T-80U though. Speed over Armour, and the slow reverse is a nightmare.

Yeah the T-72B3 is cool and all (one of my fave tanks honestly), but I’m way happier that the M60s finally have their accurate volumetric mantlets!!

Dragonreaper211 in some places of the mantlet, it can be up to 650-700mm thick now instead of just 127mm. There’s even some places that 120mm apfsds can’t penetrate
@@atomicspartan131 it’s accurate but not by much, it’s arguably a bug as 120mm shells naturally pen until you hit the cast welded areas.
Generally it should make it seem like it has better armor but not by 600 mm of RHA as it’s literally cast armor.
What should happen is it should pen and have to interact with the slice under or pen through both platings no matter if it’s 2 different volumes of armor especially since again it’s just cast armor.
The "UBH" modification is so new that the real thing actually debuted 2 years AFTER War Thunder added tanks to the game
My hope is, that gaijin implements that "modification/upgrade" to all top-tier tanks. M1A1 HA/M1A2 SEP etc. you name it. Keeps the grind "real".

Both those upgrades will literally just add weight and leave the hull still terribly protected.
HA is just 1st generational DU components to the turret; lot of extra weight.
SEP just has upgraded third-generation depleted uranium armor components with graphite coating to the turret only; a lot more weight.
The latest Abrams literally addresses these things by the newest version;
M1A2 SEPv2 or latterly known as M1A3 and they are designed to be lighter due to the issues the already added armor components have caused due to the shear weight distribution. They are also designed to fundamentally increase the life expectancy of the tank.

It's not so much that the T-72 is great or anything but now Russia has 7 extremely similarly performing top tier MBT's with the same cannons. I had a match where everyone on the enemy team had 4+ deaths and they were still bringing out T-80U's whilst I was stuck in some AMX-30 because only having one Leclerc doesn't help much against spam

Rep costs are crappy indeed and should either be removed competly or be put to a set value for each tier for all nations and not be used to "Balance" with.
But russia does have waaaay cheeper repair costs for thier top tier tanks compared to any other. Overall i think Russia got the cheepest repair costs of any nation in general.

They gave everyone who has top tier tanks and doesn't have them spaded yet HEAT-FS .. the rest of us just pay more for the darts.

I agree with you for the fact that it's balance, easy to kill. However, the unbalance thing is the lineup. So russia have a full lineup for top tier tanks that they can take, when all other nations can't .You can kill one or two but more will come. Whereas you can only count on 2 /3 tanks. That's not fair at all, they should have waited for other nations to have comparable lineups.
x4 M1+ ADATS, AH64, F4; x3 Leo + TAM, Tiger; x3 Ariete + x2 Centauro...
They ruined the game with the unlimited respawns, if yiu want to drive the baddest tank in the game you get one tank then have to spawn something else. Russias line up is the best hands down, the round all Russian tanks use the Mango is available from the T64 to the T80U, the Challenger 1 for example only has access to the L23 (which wont pen a T72B) Then the Challenger 1 mk3 only has the L23A1 both vastly inferior the Challenger 2F Britains best tank gets the L26A1 still not as good as the Mango round. Russia are steam rolling everyone in ground RB T80U dies get T72B3UHB then the T80B all have amazing front armour and a weak spot that only destroys the breach. 20+ games today and Everyone VS Russia we lost them all.

However, I would like to point out about the rounds fired. the 3BM42 is accessible for all the russian at 9.7. Does the Leo 2A4 have the top round ? Same question for the M1s, only the M1A1 and A2 have top round. The only one with 3 top tier with top rounds are the Italians. So you can do "the same" in a 9.7 russian tank as in a 10.7. Can you in the other nations ?
Basically russian have fast tank, which can go in position very quickly, are easy to kill, but you must aim weakspot or sidshot. And they all have the best round at 9.7. You can't deny the fact that overall russain tank have more potentiall at 9.7 than all the other tanks.
And I'm not saying that they are overpowered, no no they are very balance, but having 6 vehicles for a linup, at top tier is THE most OP thing for the russians.

The T-72B3M Obr. 2016 is the most modern of all T-72s, any A or earlier variants are 2nd Gen. Modern T-72s have some modern features like the Kontakt-5 ERA or sometimes equipping the T-90's Relikt

Lol, why is Relikt is worse than Kontakt against APDSFS? 20mm against 120mms, whereas in reality it is better.
They actually split the Relikt into two different parts. Underneath the first layer that Justin showed, there are flat panels of relikt that have the 200 mm of KE protection. They only made the change a couple of days ago and it was only discovered in a data mine so Justin might not have known to look for it.

Yeah... imagine the absolute atrocity the T-90M will be. Relikt on the sides is one thing but on the front it will be quite the thing. Alone it would bring Soviet tanks to a level that could counter 2A6. Problem is, I don’t think there are tanks with Relikt that don’t also have all the new soviet improvements. Hard kill APS, better mobility, better engines... still wishing to see them but at the same time not really XD

@@bwhittv1446 Only the 21 BIS which we dont have in game could carry 6 R60M not 8 usual config was 2 R3S and 4 R60m on double pylons. 21 couldnt haul the same ordinance as the Phantom same as the Mig 23 wont have the same amount of missiles as the F-14. Different combat roles, the Mig 21 was a front fighter, not designed to loiter like the Western aircraft, hence less payload and less fuel, take off shoot down targets land.
Since they will be introducing tanks, like the 72B3, I do believe that majority of the tanks in game should get their realistic armor packages and high pen APFSDS rounds. I feel bad for the stock grinders who have to face this thing. Looking forward to getting it but feels bad that other nations struggle with HEATFS even more with this being added.

I did the same thing but I started a new account and the grind took forever. I was playing like 4-5 hours a day and only managed to get to around 6.7 in the 5 or some months I played.

So uh what I see from the vid and data mines is that the side armour with the UBK package has around 1280-1300mm against HEAT and around 300mm against KE flat on. Damn that's spicy

I know im commenting on a 2yr old video but as of currently i love my T-72b3. Its not dogshit but it isn’t such a cheez. The thermals are amazing and my dogshit ass can actually get a few kills as long as i aim right. Although i do have to say personally biggest downside for me is reverse gear.

Russia for simplicity and a general understanding of all of WT, USA for the Middle ground, nation that generally forces you to think about your moves, rather than holding W for russia.

10:34 that was not a heatfs round, it was an HE, a heatfs round has more fins as well (in game idk about irl). Also, the thing you were shooting was an Strv 121 and they only get darts, smoke and HE.

My humble opinion, the T72B3 currently has too low of a repair cost. Not saying it should be increased, but rather, repair costs should be standardized across the board, up or down. There are pros and cons to every vehicle, just play what you like and master what you will.
But the issue with repair cost, is that, it makes a player think twice before spawning a second/third/fourth vehicle. The SL do add up, no matter what you might say.
Just had a row of 20 matches earlier, playing US and Britain, and of course, against Russia. Out of 20 matches, only won 3. The main reason?
People leave after getting killed 2/3 times, sometimes even just once. The reason for that? None other than repair cost. While we of the NATO side need to think of whether is it even worth it to spawn, Russian players can just spawn one of the other, without caring too much about repair cost. (In the event that they lose, more often than not, a premium player would simply break even.)
They can simply overwhelm in sheer numbers.
The T72B3 might not be an overpowered tank by itself, but put it in a lineup, along with a team of T72B3 and T80U and whatnot, it's freakin terrifying.

The Ammo that all Russian tanks share from 9.7 to 10.7 is also a huge boost, having a 9.7 T64B or T72B with the Mango round used by the T80U is frankly total bullshit

At 6:13 where did that apfsds go? Why do certain tanks fuel tanks take all the shrapnel away from apfsds. Like the 2k and many of the Russian top tier mbts fuel.
