This was recorded in 2010 and I was blown away by how Don was able to still sound pretty damn decent for his age, his performance on this is hauntingly good! That chorus delivery is tremendous! Sadly he didn’t deliver this kind of performance on Broken Bones and the production didn’t sound as crisp either. I hope that Dokken’s next album will be heavier like this.
Listen to all the classic 80s albums and Don dokkens album up from the ashes it after the band split up it is a great album dysfunctional ,erase The slate, and lightning strikes again
I agree with you. The four studio albums that they put out in the 80s' are some of the greatest music I have ever listened to, especially Tooth And Nail, Under Lock And Key, and Back For The Attack. I even love the first album Breaking The Chains alot, but the other three are PHENOMENAL albums. Don's singing on those albums are amazing. I love most of the albums that came out later like Dysfunctional, Erase The Slate, and Lightning Strikes Again. Dokken has always been one of my favorite bands since I first heard them as a little kid back in the mid 80's. I still listen to them on a regular basis and last year I had heard that their first four studio albums and live album Beast From The East had been remastered on a label called Rock Candy and I got them and they sound better than ever and Beast From The East remaster is finally complete and is a 2 CD version.
@@johnkatsoudas4767 Personally I would rate the albums: 1. Up from the Ashes 2. Dysfunctional 3. Erase the Slate 4. Hell to Pay 5. Lightning Strikes Again 6. Broken Bones 7. This song has recently become one of my top Dokkwn tunes. Only discovered it a few months ago after hearing it on SiriusXM "Hair Nation". Tight rockin' track with George playing guitar the way I like th hear it. Lyrics are apropos for our time today.
sikkmaine28 It was released in 2009 as a single and put on the album "Dokken's Greatest Hits" in 2010. Hope this helps. The other song released at the same time was "Medicine Man". Check that out as well. Dokken kicks ass!! Great voice. Been a fan since 1984!
I just noticed this, but I noticed a lot of haiku structures in the lyrics, especially in the first three lines in the chorus It's almost over It's just a matter of time It's almost over
If this is Jon Levin he sounds as good or better than Lynch. This is heavy Dokken and beautiful to hear. Cannot find these lyrics anywhere. If anyone has them could they be reprinted here. Thanks. Love you Don, all the best. You sound fantastic.
sikkmaine28 Lynch overrated? Maybe the stupidest comment ever made in American history. And then Faydedoesn't even know who is playing on this song, yet she agrees with you. Go back to listening to the Goo Goo Dolls.
@@22trem If you can't tell whether this is Lynch or another guitarist who has played for Dokken then that should give you extra reason to stop worshiping Lynch.

Man this would have been a great song for the old days, road running and smoking weed and drinking beer til 4 in the morning
I agree l had many of those nights
I havent heard many Dokken songs, but this one is my favorite at the moment. The music, the lyrics and the singing are just on fire.

Don Dokken ........... absolutely one of the BEST sounding metal voices that ever came out of the 80's if not THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!
Robert Mason is better.

This is the last song where Don’s voice was still in peak form.

I don't think that's George. Pretty sure it's Jon Levin. But he definitely went to the George Lynch school of tone and phrasing.
DOKKEN IS AWESOME!! THEIR NEW STUFF IS JUST AS GOOD AS THE CLASSICS!
I agree i love all of it
