These commentaries were especially great. The humor coach addition where they have back and forth grew on me quick. You know that extra layer of turning an expected rhetorical speech to have talkin back. This is why I love the game sack.
About the McDonald's game: Treasure wouldn't exist if they hadn't developed that game. They initially lacked the financial resources to develop even a single game, so they developed Treasure Land Adventures to attain funding for their first original IP, Gunstar Heroes. The two games were made side-by-side, and Gunstar Heroes was finished/released 3 weeks sooner just so that they could call it their true debut title.
Yes the McDonald's game launched them into the stratosphere. It's funny the team actually made Axelay working at Konami and left to start Treasure. So when you really think about it they were one of the first Indie teams to really become a successful franchise.
I get that your guys "dry" humor is kind of a running gag at this point, but i never understood the people who say that it sucks. I like it. Lets be honest were all nerds here otberwise we wouldnt fucking be here, besides whoever is looking at your videos for comedic reasons is on the wrong ficking side of youtube. TLDR: Gamesack is fucking awesome. Keep it up guys.
Ethan Games Yeah, I love their dry-witted humor. That's what makes the show for me as well as their bantering at times. It's funny. Wish I could watch this one, though. Still don't have a good internet connection yet. One more week and they'll finally install it. The video is just buffering for me. T_T
The humor coach was hilarious. It is not so much a gimmick as it is another device used to make this video more entertaining than it already is. Great video as always Game Sack
Its like that guy from that golf game on sega, the titular character of comedy coach can also represent some of the commentors. Its a good bit with a couple levels. It worked well here
Muramasa is one of my personal favorites. The cooking element adds a little strategy of its own with the 2 types of foods - baked foods that can be stored for boss battles, and hot pot foods that have to be eaten immediately.
Game Sack's humor has always been one of the best things about the show. If there isn't a joke to make, they don't force it. The peppering of mildly funny lines has always been nice, but every once in a while there's a humongous laugh. "Game Force Boulder is conveniently located 1.3 miles from where Jonbenet Ramsay was brutally murdered"
Game Sack I'm in the same boat as Dave. Was hyped to get it, and since it was an early ps1 game, I was easily amused. I like the game for the nostalgia, really.
Game Sack Dave I really connected with your Mega Man segment. Its my favorite game in the series, and I love the music more than any other entry as well. I rented it along with the first Zelda and during Memorial Day weekend when I was 9, and didn't even touch Zelda the entire time.
Game Sack Dave [about Muramasa] "I only wish this game were on the PS3 as this game would look even better in HD". It's on Vita has a physical release that's only $20, and the Vita version of Muramasa is compatible with the Vita TV (PlayStation TV). There it runs in 720p widescreen and allows you to remap the controls to whatever you want. The Vita version also looks even better (doesn't have the weird anti alias effects AND it's also got a whole bunch of extra bonus content that was planned but not put into the Wii original. If you don't have one, you should consider buying a PlayStation TV for the many wonderful Vita games that make excellent retro style console experiences just like Muramasa.
Satoshi Matrix I talked about Muramasa, not Dave. But anyway yeah the PS TV does output a 720p signal, but all of the games are upscaled. PS Vita resolution is 960x544. Still though I imagine it does look better than the Wii version which is limited to 720x480.
Game Sack Don't take it too hard. I hard a hard time telling you two apart in voice in the beginning too. It's what happens with every internet show I've watched.
Game Sack Sorry Joe! That was a careless mistake. I'll edit my comment. Yes, I'm aware games on the Vita TV are upscaled (I own one) but still......960x544 > 720x480 and 720p > 480p. And this all assumes you play with the Vita TV. Put it on an actual Vita and Muramasa is breathtakingly gorgeous.
Satoshi Matrix Yeah I do own a Vita and a PS TV. If I see Muramasa for a good price I'll be sure to get it! :) I wish the PS TV got more love in terms of compatible games.
Little off topic, but hopefully read by one of the GameSack guys... GameSack is easily my favourite youtube channel, and part of the reason is the comment discussions are pretty awesome. Not full of crap like many other gaming channels. I really appreciate the community and that you guys are involved in the discussions! Thank GameSack!
I was just watching the Seinfeld episode where Pat Kilbane plays the Anti-Kramer, Feldman. I was looking him up, and remember liking him on MadTV when I was a kid. Glad to see he's still around!
Great episode guys! I love Pat Kilbane, and did not expect to ever see him on Game Sack. Thanks for the awesome surprise! Love the ending. I laughed so hard, it hurt.
At first I was going to compliment you for stepping up your game on the voice work, but that slap both caught me off guard AND left me laughing like an idiot. Well done!
Watching Dave play that McDonald's game opened my eyes to the potential of Ronald in a super smash brothers game. Oh and that slap at the end, priceless.
I like your light dad humour, it goes well with the light yet highly informative tone of your show. Keep at it, you're easily one of the best "serious" retro-gaming show.
Odin's Playground you people are making too much of a big deal out of this, they do one episode gags like this every once in a while. They might not always work (like this one) but they usually never use them again regardless.
To be honest, I prefer this channel to other retro gaming channels because its not all humor and joking around. Game Sack videos don't seem "silly" at all and I love that. Please don't change. Please keep up the good work being very thorough and informative.
pretty funny eh? like funny as a mouse I found in this bottle eh? take off eh! we're going to the brewery to get free beer, instead we will get jobs, then we will watch mentally challenged stormtroopers play hockey to organ music! take off hoser........................eh?!
Episodes like this are fun catch-alls because there are always fun/interesting games that don't always fall under a specific theme/genre. Seeing Downhill Domination covered was timely because I had just spent some time with it, myself. It impressed me how smoothly the game ran, and it felt like an expansion of the Road Rash or Skitchin' ideas-- but with cool modifiers like changing weather conditions and faster speeds. I still do prefer Road Rash... but imagine if it was as well technically as Downhill Domination! Whoa. I still haven't beaten the original Mega Man. I should probably rectify that someday. I've really struggled when I've tried to play it; for me, the difficulty has always felt just a bit too high and it isn't long before I shut off the game & move to something else. I absolutely loved the ending here. Poor Joe. Thanks again for your hard work and for delivering another fun episode. You guys rule.
wolvsbain I don't know why but I couldn't keep playing after 12 hours. However I played 108 hours of Dark Souls and I'm in the 61th hour of Dark Souls 2, both games which I consider masterpieces. I should return some day to Demons.
It's so great that you always mentioned your "bad acting" and "bad humor" (which ain't so bad by the way) and it finally pays off. All this before like a huge buildup in a movie. Damn great.
*Demon's Souls*: Hard Games *Mega Man*: Capcom Classics *Downhill Domination* / *Urban Trial Extreme*: Extreme Sports Games *Whomp Em*: Games with international changes *Ys Origins*: JRPG Games part X *McDonalds Treasureland Adventure*: Games based on commercial properties *Muramasa: The Demon Blade*: Vanillaware Games *Loaded*: Violent Games *Dragon's Crown*: Vanillaware Games *Gargoyle's Quest*: Capcom Classics Here ya go :P
Game Sack Well, you guys were telling us that you picked these games because you didn't know in what kind of episode you could talk about them. So I decided to give you ideas of subjects for later episodes where you could re-talk about these games ;)
I like the humor in the show. Yeah.its dry and corny a good bit but thats what i like about it. Also its pretty clean for the most part. Show me any other game channel that doesn't cuss every other word. Like in the Saturn episode with the golf game. It was dry but hilarious. Keep it up guys i like it just the way y'all make it.
Lol saying Game Sack's humor is dry is missing the point. The entire shtick would appear to be local broadcast television. The problem with that I suppose is that most of these kids don't have a clue what that is. Most of them probably don't remember what non digital television is like. We old folks love you, Game Sack. xD
People like them because they are less polished than some of the other hotshot punks on UA-cam. These guys are real. Just regular guys talking about video games.
Shame that the 'Loaded' game hasn't got a twin stick shooter control scheme... There's a lot of PS1 games that would have been amazing if they had dual shock compatibility.
Game Sackfan Hey cool name! Well I slap Joe all the time so I was able to get it done in one shot. You would think that slapping him so many times would make the fun depreciate but it doesn't. Every slap is so refreshing.
Game Sack Dave Thanks for the compliment and your great work on this channel! Now I understand why Joe's face looks a bit red sometimes! it's because of your constant slapping LoL!
I watch Game Sack regularly for the commentary, to find some hidden gems, and because it's just really well done. The humour coach was a misstep though lads. Just felt forced.
I love Muramasa. It's brilliant. I've wanted a proper HD version for a long time too. It looks gorgeous as it is, but I can't help but wonder how much better it could look. The humour coach thing wasn't great though. Not funny at all. You don't need to try to be funny though. Your stuff is good because it's you guys talking about games you love that you don't hear about in other places. Trying to force humour in to that just because that's what all the popular UA-camrs do is a bad idea.
I got gargoyle's quest on my 5th birthday. I distinctly remember the moment when that first fish boss comes flying out of the water out of nowhere, with the music changing and how it scared the shit out of me. Fantastic game.
kiyoaki1985 Wow at 5 years old you remember that and actually got to the first boss? That's awesome! At 5 years old I probably had very little eye to hand coordination.
Game Sack Dave Yeah! I remember I got it along with Tetris which was bundled. Actually I'd already played the game before that at an older kid's house and really wanted it. The first boss was scary as hell but I did manage to kill him after trying a lot. I did get stuck eventually at the slime eye boss in the second dungeon though and only beat the game some years later. Something which always bugged me: after you beat that fish boss you are placed outside of a castle on the overworld, and if you walk away from it a bit a head pokes out of the door of the castle. If you walk back a bit, it disappears again.
These commentaries were especially great. The humor coach addition where they have back and forth grew on me quick. You know that extra layer of turning an expected rhetorical speech to have talkin back. This is why I love the game sack.
Almost like the titular character of "comedy coach" is analog to some of the commenters lol
That McDonalds game makes me want a "Kids' Games That Don't Suck" episode.
+1
Hell yeAh. That's an awesome episode idea. Hopefully you get a lot of likes so they see it.
Meow good kitty, *pets you* that's a very solid episode topic you got there.
Punchi Bunch nope, anti-drug games generally suck, cept for NARC
Meow Like Toy Story on the Genesis, I feel like they've already covered it but it would be perfect for an episode like that.
About the McDonald's game: Treasure wouldn't exist if they hadn't developed that game. They initially lacked the financial resources to develop even a single game, so they developed Treasure Land Adventures to attain funding for their first original IP, Gunstar Heroes. @YuckFouTubeXDevs get paid by hitting development milestones, not from sales.
@@packpock4369 wow i love fun facts like this!
I've always liked your "dry humor". It has a certain charm to it.
I get that your guys "dry" humor is kind of a running gag at this point, but i never understood the people who say that it sucks. I like it. Ethan Games Yeah, I love their dry-witted humor. That's what makes the show for me as well as their bantering at times. It's funny. Wish I could watch this one, though. I actually liked Game Sack's responses to Pat more than Pat himself.
"I'm trying Pat...I just have no personality." Lol
Yet another Totally Radical episode of Joe and Dave's Excellent Retro Gaming Adventure: Game Sack.
You guys are great and you don't need gimmicks like a 'Humor Coach' to make me watch
Bobby Lawson It's obviously a gag.
HeathenDeluxe I found myself getting annoyed every time he the 'Humor Coach' showed up
Bobby Lawson Why did it bother you so much? tell me in great detail don't leave anything out!
HappyConsoleGamer It was just annoying and took me out of the episode. They don't need stuff like that to be good.
I thought it was funny and well placed!
The humor coach was hilarious. It is not so much a gimmick as it is another device used to make this video more entertaining than it already is. Great video as always Game Sack
Wolfi Thanks!
I thought he was really funny too.
Its like that guy from that golf game on sega, the titular character of comedy coach can also represent some of the commentors. Its a good bit with a couple levels. It worked well here
I swear Kilbane hasn't aged a day since his MADtv days... Must be all that healthy humor exercise...
Michael Scally They say "laughter is the best medicine."
That was not even close to wit. Stop.
I loved the Humor Coach bits.
Keep the comfy corniness going. It fits the aesthetic and theme of the show.
Muramasa is one of my personal favorites. The cooking element adds a little strategy of its own with the 2 types of foods - baked foods that can be stored for boss battles, and hot pot foods that have to be eaten immediately.
Muramasa is just a pretty game to look at. Nothing more. Such a boring game.
Awesome episode guys! Loved the inclusion of Pat, and the episode topic was great. I hope we see a part 2.
[Coury] so many good games in this episode, it's crazy. I've played and loved just about every single one besides Loaded.
***** F Loaded. Dave wanted to talk about it, though. F Dave. But I'll leave that to Eric.
Game Sack I'm in the same boat as Dave. Was hyped to get it, and since it was an early ps1 game, I was easily amused. I like the game for the nostalgia, really.

jinx2131 Yeah we have a following of quality people for the most part. We like that and we're glad you are part of it. Thanks for watching!!
Great episode, funny ending skit and ouch that slap must have hurt...
Tharen Candi It was real!
Game Sack oooouuuccchhh.
Game Sack How many takes did it take to get that right?
Zeldas Champion
I think 3 or 4.
Tharen Candi Yeah my hand was stinging after a couple good slaps. Thanks.
I was just watching the Seinfeld episode where Pat Kilbane plays the Anti-Kramer, Feldman. I was looking him up, and remember liking him on MadTV when I was a kid. Glad to see he's still around!
Pat Kilbane from mad tv? damn this guy totally rocks great episode
thank you guys, i enjoy every episode so much.
Love being drunk at 2 am and finding out you guys posted a video.
P.s. you're humor is unique and fine how it is.
So great to see a Madd TV reference in one of my favorite UA-cam channels. Great episode!
Your so freaking awesome Dave!!!
Ryan Amberger Hey Thanks!
+Game Sack Dave That profile pic tho XD
Great episode guys! I love Pat Kilbane, and did not expect to ever see him on Game Sack. Thanks for the awesome surprise!
Love the ending. I laughed so hard, it hurt.
King Salmon and Blue Marlin are my 2 favorite fishing games (Sega Bass Fishing rules too)
Superb slap from Dave - 10 points!
I like your dry humor. Dry humor is an art style that you guys have perfected. Don't change it for anyone! Thanks guys!
Time to cook up some Pizza Rolls and grab a Corona!
Ikr
***** whos been messing with my meds again
Uncle Victor don’t say Corona
Ah to wake up Sunday morning with a raging hangover only to discover a new Game Sack episode! JOY!!
At first I was going to compliment you for stepping up your game on the voice work, but that slap both caught me off guard AND left me laughing like an idiot.
Well done!
You guys always post a video for me to watch at the right time thank you Gamesack
Woah! Awesome to see Pat back he was one of the best in Mad TV! Sucks he never made it big.
Yeah seriously! He really should do more
The very end of this was epic and totally in character. You guys are the best.

MurraySwe Hah, I love RLM. And I love Game Sack without this extra gimmick.
Odin's Playground you people are making too much of a big deal out of this, they do one episode gags like this every once in a while. They might not always work (like this one) but they usually never use them again regardless.
There's humor? Where?
To be honest, I prefer this channel to other retro gaming channels because its not all humor and joking around. Game Sack videos don't seem "silly" at all and I love that. Please don't change. Please keep up the good work being very thorough and informative.
my phone alerts me when u guys upload a new video, i never told it to do that, but im not complaining at all either
Be thankful man
Really glad I was shown Gargoyle's Quest- looks fun!
I love how your response to your cheesy humour, is MORE cheesy humour. :'D
a3HeadedMonkey ^^^ This guy gets it, folks!
The "humor coach" ..This is really the smartest answer you could think of ...
Love your work, long live Gamesack
you guys are the Bob and Doug McKenzie of video games.
Clint Girard Take off hoser!
Eh?
Clint Girard Yeah you know Bob and Doug McKenzie say "Take off you hoser" all throughout their movie. It's funny.
pretty funny eh? like funny as a mouse I found in this bottle eh? take off eh! we're going to the brewery to get free beer, instead we will get jobs, then we will watch mentally challenged stormtroopers play hockey to organ music! take off hoser........................eh?!

I absolutely loved the ending here. Poor Joe.
Thanks again for your hard work and for delivering another fun episode. You guys rule.
Game Sack makes the greatest videos by far....great work guys!!! :)
demons souls was the reason I bought a ps3.
Same here! I even drove quite a bit to a game store that had the limited deluxe edition. It honestly was the only game i had for the PS3 for months.
wolvsbain I don't know why but I couldn't keep playing after 12 hours. However I played 108 hours of Dark Souls and I'm in the 61th hour of Dark Souls 2, both games which I consider masterpieces. I should return some day to Demons.
Yep same here, when I bought my ps3 the Gamestop rep assumed I was there for Uncharted 2... Nope!
Always have to watch the videos to the end for the skits. You guys are great!
I personally really enjoy your dry wit. Thanks for doing the show and keep up the great work.P.S. Pat Kilbane is mega hilarious though.
Great episode! You guys need to do more of these in the future.
Pat kil-fucking-bane
That alone makes this video awesome
Marathoning these old episodes, and this one was notable because that Humor Coach gag is extremely funny. Love Game Sack
I would actually enjoy another episode like this.
Pat is hot!
HappyConsoleGamer Yeah it's the mustache right? Got me too.
Game Sack Dave How did you get Pat, one of the best MAD TV actors, to join you?! I am stunned...respect. A proof of taste + good humor.
***** Well somebody was sensitive enough to erase my comment which I was only joking around.
LittleGojira What comment was that? I haven't deleted any comments.
Game Sack I know you didn't erase my comment.
It's so great that you always mentioned your "bad acting" and "bad humor" (which ain't so bad by the way) and it finally pays off. All this before like a huge buildup in a movie. Damn great.

So I decided to give you ideas of subjects for later episodes where you could re-talk about these games ;)
MrJechgo
Yeah I know. :)
Ok. It's official now. Humor Coach is the best thing on youtube since...hmn, ever!
My favorite episode so far!
Great episode! (The Humor Coach was a complete fail though.)
That fist-pump after 'slapping' Joe was the best, Game Sack Dave , lmao
Lol saying Game Sack's humor is dry is missing the point. The entire shtick would appear to be local broadcast television. The problem with that I suppose is that most of these kids don't have a clue what that is. Most of them probably don't remember what non digital television is like.
We old folks love you, Game Sack. xD
Arii Price +1
I think they're hilarious, but I didn't think they were going for the "public access" look.
People like them because they are less polished than some of the other hotshot punks on UA-cam. These guys are real. Just regular guys talking about video games.
Gamefan! Best gaming magazine ever. I miss that magazine. Great episode as usual guys. I wish you put out more than once every 2 weeks.
Saw the thumbnail and immediately recognized Pat Kilbane. Loved him on MAD TV. Guy is hilarious.
Welcome to Game Sack. I love you.
Apart from the humour coach it was a great video as normal guys.
Please never include him again, your jokes are just fine
Some nerds just can't handle anything new.
Best episode yet! MORE PAT!
Shame that the 'Loaded' game hasn't got a twin stick shooter control scheme... There's a lot of PS1 games that would have been amazing if they had dual shock compatibility.
lactobacillusprime That would have been nice but it does have a strafe feature which helps a lot.
You hit the nail on the head with your comments about Loaded.
Some great games in this episode sauch as Muramasa but I'm not too keen on the "Special" guest. Sort of put me off a little.
Great episode, guys! Nice to see Pat Kilbane. I LOL'd.
Your humour is fine, gentlemen, the critics can all drink petrol.
Firstly, it's nice to see a new episode of game sack.
Dave, how did it feel slapping Joe and how often do you do that?
Btw, I might be in the minority but I like your sense of humor (both of you)!
Game Sackfan Hey cool name! Well I slap Joe all the time so I was able to get it done in one shot. You would think that slapping him so many times would make the fun depreciate but it doesn't. Every slap is so refreshing.
Game Sack Dave
You went too hard that time what if he fell on some games/system and broke them!!!
Game Sack Dave Thanks for the compliment and your great work on this channel!
Now I understand why Joe's face looks a bit red sometimes! it's because of your constant slapping LoL!
You guys are great AND funny. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Don't ever change!
I watch Game Sack regularly for the commentary, to find some hidden gems, and because it's just really well done.
The humour coach was a misstep though lads. Just felt forced.
Great episode guys! & that ending, brilliant skit! I'm starting to look forward to those as much as the game content now! Keep 'em up! *Slap!*
"Fucking Windows"; Great episode, but please no more humor coach, ever.
Loaded, what a game. I loved this back in the day
I love Muramasa.
Trying to force humour in to that just because that's what all the popular UA-camrs do is a bad idea.
please dont get funny you guys always keep me coming back with your rapidfire serious reviews. anyways good work all around
The skits at the end are always the best!
i loved pat kilbane him doing the coffee guy on Madtv always cracked me up
This was a great episode, I have not heard of some of these games and Pat Kilbane was funny.
Awesome episode as always, and damn that slap sounded like it hurt.
Awesome episode in game reviews, awesome idea in humor and some gorgeous games I wasn't aware of
Nice to see something different guys keep it up so far so good.
that ending bit had me rollin. "your using a plug lure?" SLAP hahaha
Thank you for posting this late on a Saturday so I have something to watch after a night of drinking :)
The end of this video kills me every time, hilarious.
the close up shots on this episode look terrific guys
That slap at the end! Priceless!
More episodes like this, please! :)
