    Hello Bertha I love your videos great information. I actually been using Hyaluron Pen for a bit over 1 year and every session was great till once I had Hematoma happen to me it was the scariest thing ever, I was so concerned I thought it was necrosis, but thank God within 2 weeks it went away it looked horrible I really didn't think this would happen at all with pen but it did and now I'm so afraid to used again as much as I love results I'm scared now. It also happened to my friend on her 4 session which is scary

    • @BerthashannonLeonard
      @BerthashannonLeonard  3 роки тому +3

      Shame Arie. This is scary. The risk of bruising and hematoma exists with hyaluron pen as well as with injectables. :-( It is impossible to predict this, but you can always do a thorough consultation to ensure your client will not be prone to bruising before doing treatment (take note of what they have been consuming within about 3 days prior to the appointment) their current state of health, medication, immune system etc. This helps you determine if they are a bigger risk of bruising. I really find arnic oil massaged in generously the day of the treatment (post treatment) continuously throughout the day really breaks down any bruising very quickly, like within a day quickly.
      But each individual is different and as I mentioned above, it is impossible to predict it.

    • @stephaniemurphy9894
      @stephaniemurphy9894 Рік тому

      If a hematoma can happen this means the vessel bursted open underneath the skin due to trauma of product being placed. If you can burst a vessel under neath the skin, it is possible to create an occlusion also…

    • @BerthashannonLeonard
      @BerthashannonLeonard  4 роки тому +1

      Yes Gillian. I really do appreciate their concern and I do expect to get some negative commentary regarding this video, but if you really truly understand the device, how it operates and what it is capable of. Then VO is not something that you need to be worrying about. As mentioned in the video, if it is even every suspected, it should be treated as a matter of urgency, but I have not yet found any evidence (not rumours and pictures doing their rounds on social media) true evidence of this.

    I love your videos! You are so informative and well spoken! Thank you! I am taking courses here in the US to become certified but still do as much research on the side to learn as much as possible from as many sources as possible. I have a few questions if that's okay?
    What kind of anti viral do you recommend to assist with cold sore/fever blister prevention? How long before/after should they take it? And if a client ends up with one after a treatment, is there something they can use to help heal it that won't affect the injections? I think things like Abreva or the Orajel cold sore treatments tend to be drying, and since HA needs moisture will that undo what has just been put into the lip? Also, how long do you recommend after it has completely healed should they wait before coming in for their next treatment? I can't seem to find anyone who can give me an amswer on this and Google has been surprisingly unhelpful..

    • @BerthashannonLeonard
      @BerthashannonLeonard  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Samantha
      Thank you for the compliment♥︎ I hope that you are enjoying the training that you are doing.
      In SA we use Cyclivex (scripted medication that only a Dr can prescribe)
      L-lysin over the counter anti-viral
      But not sure what is available around you, you will need to ask a pharmacist or a Dr.
      Unfortunately if a client gets a cold sore, they need to use the appropriate ointment and yes this will dry it out, but it needs to rather heal as quickly as possible due to it being contagious and you do not want it to spread.
      Hyaluron pen treatments should be spaced 2-3 weeks apart.
      If your client has had a cold sore, then I would wait two weeks after the cold sore has completely healed and they have completed the scripted medication from the GP, only two weeks after that would I consider doing it agin. But I also have to mention in my few years of doing this treatment, we have never had a issue with a cold sore.

    Hi Bertha! Thank you so much for making this video, and explaining everything in detail! Do you know why SO many articles say that the hyaluron pen can cause vascular occlusion and blindness? I really don't get it, since it basically seems impossible. But I've even seen doctors and nurses say that it can cause it! Do you think they're being dishonest on purpose or just really misinformed on what the hyaluron pen is and what it can do?

    • @BerthashannonLeonard
      @BerthashannonLeonard  Рік тому +1

      I find it hard to believe that they would be dishonest. I think that it is simply a lack of knowledge on the specifics of hyaluron pen.
      If you perform any treatment without proper training then in any situation a whole lot can go very wrong.
      if I do micro-needling on my skin without training & a good knowledge about skin I run a high risk of causing massive uncontrolled inflammation which will lead to permanent scarring and many other permanent issues.
      If I do a eyeliner tattoo without training I can cause permanent ink migration around the eye. If I use a laser machine without training I can cause a 3rd degree burn. If I use my plasma pen without training I can also burn the skin resulting in permanent scar tissue & pigmentation.
      But in these videos I try to explain that if you are a trained professional and perform procedures ethically & responsibly then you eliminate your risks.
      So I think that they are usually just worried about the part of our industry that is DIY - “I don’t need training, I’m just going to do it on myself”
      Also if you google ‘are aliens currently alive in Texas’ I can guarantee you you will probably find someone saying “yes I saw them last week”
      Google has its pro’s and con’s - you can find anything that you are looking for.
      My best advice - and this is always my advice. If you want to offer any treatment safely then you need to get really good training & support for that course.

    • @BerthashannonLeonard
      @BerthashannonLeonard  4 роки тому +1

      Hi ♥︎ Im so sorry for my delayed reply. That would be about 7.5 bar. That is a bit high BUT to come close to the risk of occlusion, many factors need to be present. Using BIG shots, using the wrong fillers, using a pen with too much pressure, no massaging, working in the wrong area's etc... So the pen alone cannot cause something like this.

      @BerthashannonLeonard  4 роки тому

      Hi Hadar, thank you for the comment and I apologise for taking so long to respond. SA beauty sector finally opened and it has been so busy getting things sorted. You should avoid that vein due to the bruising and swelling you will have for sure. But remember that it is not only depth that makes this treatment low risk but also the way in which the product is dispersed. So Yes I agree with you, do not work over any capillaries / blood-vessels that you can visibly see because you will have tremendous swelling / bruising. I hope this helps answer your question 🤗

      @hadarf6958 4 роки тому

    • @BerthashannonLeonard
      @BerthashannonLeonard  4 роки тому +2

      @@hadarf6958 are you using a normal hyaluron pen and appropriate filler? If so, the product is dispersed in a 'misting' motion and not in a pocketing motion, This is why VO is not a real concern with the Hyaluron Treatment. The misty dispersion makes that the risk of VO is eliminated. (if using normal hyaluron pen and devices.) 🤗
      Things can go wrong in any situation or treatment. If you are very concerned about it but also really want to do the treatment, my recommendation is to only do a small amount of serum per treatment and rather gradually build up your result. So, instead of doing 1ml per treatment, only do 0.5ml per treatment and do more treatments to get your results.

    Hi, and thank you for this excellent vid. I have deep 11 lines even after Botox. I know it's dangerous to inject filler in this area, as a real risk of blindness! But is it possible to use the pen please and have you experience of this ? Many thanks sue 👍💖

    • @BerthashannonLeonard
      @BerthashannonLeonard  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Sue, if you go to someone who is experienced with the pen, then you can definitely go ahead with the treatment. If they see that your skin is to thin and requires tightening, then that might be a good first step (if you say that the lines are still deep, even after botox) then it might be a problem with some excess lax skin. But if your skin is looking goo, thick,
      and healthy and the therapist has the needed experience, then this should be absolutely fine.

      @@gia7698 Shame man! I can only imagine. If the ampule shattered, it would literally explode - the entire top part of the ampule would have come off.. This is usually the most dangerous risk as you can not control where the little piece of ampule could end up (like in your eye?) This is why quality supplies are so important. But with that being said, I had an ampule shatter/ break while doing a shot on a clients lip (and I have it on camera) and she diddnt even bruise/ bleed. She had no idea that it even happened (I clearly did, lol, I was totally covered in the serum) but in that situation nothing bad happened, and that was not the first time it happened to me, I have never had a bad, or scary experience with that myself, so it helps to hear your experience. What is psi?

    • @BerthashannonLeonard
      @BerthashannonLeonard  4 роки тому

      Good question Kaila. It is a pressure. It is the pressure resulting from a force of one pound-force applied to an area of one square inch. Basically it is how the ‘measure’ the strength/ power/ pressure of the device. If your device is a bit over 95, it is nothing to worry about, but it is important to understand the pressure of your device.

    • @BerthashannonLeonard
      @BerthashannonLeonard  4 роки тому +1

      @@kailasimmos3355 I also realised that you need to ask most suppliers to confirm the psi, they don’t normally specify because most people are unaware of the importance of the pressure. A cheap or faulty pen will shoot inconsistently, therefore it is worth testing your device on a banana (as I did at the end of the clip). If the shots penetrate different depths, then the pen is faulty and that would effect the psi. You also get devices that operate differently, the user can set the pressure for much deeper penetration 🤷‍♀️ these specific pens I have not ever tried because they seem to penetrate deeper than I feel I should be going (without the needed medical training) but if you purchase a normal Hyaluron Pen, the pressure will always be psi95 or 6.5bar (but obviously confirm with the supplier). It shouldn’t vary with this device. Luckily the fact that the HA is dispersed as a fine mist still makes the treatment very 'safe', but as I mentioned in the video, if you start 'breaking many rules' and changing techniques, then you will start to have higher risks.

      Hi Monica, gosh, Im so sorry that I missed your comment. Yes if your ampule breaks on the lip, this could cause unusual selling depending on how it broke. Many little things can cause swelling, so until you understand this treatment 100% and until you have a decent amount of practice / experience behind your name, it is good to rather expect some swelling & bruising to occur. This is where goo training comes in handy, your teacher can help guid you through each step, showing you how to do this with MINIMAL risk.
