I am 93 my wife 91 some years ago we were traveling with friends. We stopped at a diner and one friend put Spanish eyes on the. Jukebox. Though we had never heard of Al Martino or Spanish. Wow, the 50's and 60's songs are not what I imagined, truly something beautiful. I'm 18 and I wish my generation would listen to these and experience what I just heard. Thank You for being the best generation.
I agree with you. Just one little comment: It's '50s and '60s music, NOT the way you wrote it. Apostrophes are NEVER used in plurals (except when pluralising certain units used in the sciences what would otherwise be confused with other units, for example, m for meters when pluralised would become ms, but ms is already taken and it means milliseconds, so to avoid confusion and apostrophe is inserted, thus making the plural for meters m's). The apostrophe is used only in two situations, normally: to signal that something has been omitted (as in '50s, where it replaces the missing 19), and to imply ownership (as in: my brother's car is blue).
Al Martino had a beautiful voice. While in the Navy we spent some time in Naples and several other beautiful cities and in 1967 everywhere we visited they were playing this song. It brings back some beautiful memories.. Love this music…
Amazing he's got a full orchestra with a conductor backing him up and the main focus is on him and his talent, not a bunch of acrobats jumping around him with all kinds of light shows going on in the background. A singer's talent was the main focus of a performance in these days, not all the electronic gimmickry we see today.

He had a lot of competition. I mean, there were 4 or 5 Italians ahead of him -Sinatra, Dino, Bennett, Como. Not to mention a slew of non-Paisans. Tons of talent in the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

We were on holiday in benidorm. I was about 12. Benidorm was an expanding village at the time. First time I heard this song, and always to this day I still very much enjoy listening to it.
Those were the good old days when people dressed on sundays more formally. Now they go even in a theater in blue jeans.Somehow a loss. AS KIDS WE DIDN'T REALLY LIKE IT BECAUSE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO SPARE OUR GOOD CLOATHES FROM GETTING DIRTY.
My great Granny loved this song and was always requesting it on the local radio. Every now and then I play it loud for her just in case she's still listening
This was my Grandfather and Grandmothers song, If they were ever at a restaurant or something of that sort...they would get up and dance in front of everyone. My grandfather passed when I was 9, I never forgot the fact they danced when they heard it. Fast forward 23 years. My wedding day....I had a special surprise dance for my grandmother... it was this song, not a dry eye in the house. at the time she could barely walk but we danced. Turned out to be the last time she danced to this song. she passed 2 years later. its hard to hear this song but I love it. I'll always think of them when I hear this and I imagine them dancing in heaven.

It was too good to hear Al Martino singing The Spanish Eyes, after a long while. That voice will keep ringing the ears, the golden one. Thanks a lot for ur time.
